Chapter 7: Kill, Consume, Amplify, Conquer.

Voraci knew that she absolutely should have started going to shore, but the allure of the strange bubbling anomaly was, well, too alluring.

Why was it so bubbly? She had seen other bubbles from the water, when the water had gone too close to the rock before.

WATER FfffALL!!!

Voraci looked up. It was true, the water she had absorbed the weight of earlier had gone very high up and was falling down again. Why was that important? Voraci looked at the bubbling. Oh, OH NO! Voraci realized too late that the river ended at the white bubbles, no, it didn’t end, it turned 90 degrees straight down.

Voraci struggled against the current. This is what a waterfall is? At the point that she noticed, Voraci had gone too close.

Voraci decided. There was no point in fighting it. She had already gone too far. Plus, it was highly likely that she survived, given her physical resistances.

The final parts of Voraci slipped over the edge, 'Oh, that's not too bad… still, that's bad,' Voraci thought, seeing the ground she had just started falling to.

Voraci hit the fast approaching ground upside down, sustaining a large dent to her shell. It wasn't very comfortable.

'Ow…' Voraci reeled back from the pain. This area of water was, fortunately, not moving so quickly. It still contained movement , which prompted Voraci to leave.

Back on land, Voraci decided to look for something good to eat. Better idea, smell for something good to eat. Voraci had barely recognized the ability to smell, but it could be very helpful, she assumed.

Hm, smelled of… fresh meat. In fact, the fresh meat seemed to have burnt? Voraci had not encountered fire yet, except for when the tree exploded. 'Speaking of,' Voraci thought, 'I should eat some more trees later,'

Voraci's very strong sense of smell led her in one single direction. Towards… ‘What is that?’

FIGHT FIGHT!!!

Voraci had come across… something in a clearing. It was made of wood and it wasn’t a tree. How... and why? From the other side of the building, though, Voraci heard noises.

“All that matters for now is that you didn’t burn down the whole barn, only the farmer. Now, how many levels did you get?” Someone, who seemed to be a male, said. The voice wasn’t very low, but was unnervingly comforting, especially given the subject matter that they seemed to be discussing. Another person seemed to be crying.

“F-fourteen…” the sad one said, stuttering out the words.

“From just one kill? One kill on a level zero farmer!?” The first one said in an over exaggerated and slightly condescending tone, “this is likely the second or first most efficient way to gain levels, until the plain restrictions from the gods drop and we can hunt the life of other worlds, we can’t know,” he continued, dropping into an analytical tone.

“I don’t want to kill people!” the sad one said again, “It’s… It’s just so horrible…”

“God doesn’t seem to have a problem with it, in fact, we gain levels for this stuff, if anything, god wants us to kill people,” the other one said again, “do you need me to spell it out for you? G-O-D, God, god wants us to kill people. sure, he’s not like what people expected, but he is literally a GOD, OUR god” he took a deep breath, “At the moment, we may be the strongest two people in the world when it comes to combat, we are the first people to directly control magic, and other people only discovered it during that god meeting like 3 days ago, with that leveling speed? We win everything!”

“YOU ARE A PSYCHOPATH!” the sad one yelled, “I do NOT want to be a killer!”

“Then why did you kill the-” the apparently psychopathic trailed off, seeing Voraci, “what’s that?”

Voraci looked at the two. Humans, yes. It was knowledge that was important enough for her to be born with it subconsciously. Humans are smart and cooperative, making them a huge problem. The strategy to deal with them was apparently to not make them angry and hide from them. Apparently, they invented something very dangerous in their world, high speed projectile launchers, and given the metal box things on the two humans, the humans them in this world.

Voraci looked at the two humans, in the psychopathic one’s monologue he had proclaimed both with an ability to control ulkaotorncincasnasnoir, also referred to as mana. Mana was another thing with high priority of knowledge. That meant that these two would become large threats to Voraci, especially if their single target damage was able to scale enough.

Voraci finalized her decision. Kill. Consume. Amplify. Conquer. Just something she made up on the spot, but it fit, in her opinion. Voraci checked her acid reserves, and they appeared to be full of, wouldn’t you guess it, acid.

Voraci opened the hatch and spat out the acid at high velocity. She dropped her weight into the floor, leaping off with all but one foot. As it turned out, it was faster to absorb the weight she had gotten rid of than to get rid of the weight.

Voraci shot all of her legs forward. While she was still in contact with the floor, she absorbed the weight back up. The first attack that Voraci had done.

The two humans were distracted from what Voraci was doing as acid covered both of their faces. The psycho one tried to scrape it off, but once they had, four to five tons of weight hit his legs, ripping them fresh off.

He screamed out, suddenly starting to poke at the air as Voraci ricochet off of the floor and past him and he fell to the floor. Voraci turned around once she had come to a stop to repeat the attack, but noticed the flesh over the man’s wound growing back at an astonishing, and alarming rate. A wall of stone appeared behind the man, blocking Voraci’s line of sight.

“Fu-AAGHH—!” the Psycho man tried to swear, but a sudden jolt of pain cut him off.

“Desmond are you alright?” the once sad man said after he got the acid off of his face.

“I am fine, but we need to get out of here, and my legs are going to take some time regrowing. One more level and I could teleport myself out,” he said

“What about me?”

“Well, probably something cliche,” Desmond said as Voraci heard a squishy sound. The sad one must have been stabbed by Desmond, and although Voraci didn’t know exactly what leveling did, Desmond clearly leveled. He had said that he needed one level to teleport away, and when Voraci looked behind the rock, he wasn’t there.

However, two fresh corpses were still there, a magic one with acid burns covering their face and a gash from a dagger fresh in its chest and one farmer that was burnt to death. Voraci started with the burnt one.
