Voraci decided to eat all the rocks she had thrown into the cave instead of bringing them all further up. This time though, she had a new idea for what to get from these rocks, they didn’t feel pain, so she would take that aspect. Unfortunately, she only thought of pain resistance after she converted all the rocks into weight control.
Voraci hadn’t felt pain before the fight with the skeleton velociraptor, but she did not like it. She also knew what pain was for, stopping her from dying by telling her to run or fight. That boded well for the special gift she would get once she got 15… copies of the attribute? She didn’t know what exactly she was supposed to call it so she decided ‘copies of the attribute’ would be an alright phrase.
She doubted that the skeleton velociraptor could feel pain, but the ability to emit light and the increase in speed were much better attributes. Plus, she could get pain resistance from eating rocks anyways... Voraci wasn't totally sure that rocks didn't feel pain though.
Right now though, she wanted to gain more toughness. She had thought about it, and what made something hit hard was speed and weight. She already had those in some quantities, and while she did have toughness, it didn’t scale as fast as the speed seemed to, and she had much less toughness than weight. Mainly, she needed toughness so that she didn’t get hurt when digging.
HEY! YOu WANT KNOE ASPECTSss YOU HAVE?
Voraci paused. Yes, she would like to know that that.
OKAYY!!!!
Aspects
{Weight control} (22)
{Increased toughness} (14)
{Increased speed} (2)
Additional body parts
{Bioluminescent containers} (1)
Nodes
{out-body imbuement (weight)}
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
Nodes? That was what they were called? Voraci was confused by the name but no matter the name she needed to get nodes. She also wished she was still mining through the hard rocks for a moment. She only needed to get one more toughness increase because she had spent all her time digging through the soft rock. She was going down to a cave full of rocks soon though.
Voraci jumped down the tunnel, rolling into a ball to conserve momentum. She looked forwards and finally found the area with the normal rocks. She quickly ate a few, just enough to get an aspect.
I READ THOUGHTS AGAIN TEE HEE! YOU WANT TOUGH!
Voraci conceded to the words that she did want the toughness.
YOU GET!!!
Voraci didn’t feel her flesh toughen again. It didn’t the last few times, probably because her flesh could only become so tough while remaining as flexible as it was.
LETS SEE GIFt!!
Due to having 15 {Increased toughness} you have gained a reward, {Project barrier}
{Project barrier}: spawn an ethereal barrier which is projected from an area of your choosing. The section is larger or smaller than the selected area and impacts on the barrier are proportionally inflicted on the selected area.
Voraci was impressed. She shot out the shield. It turned out to be easily controllable, but only a bit. It could turn a little bit and move a bit. The area it projected from could be adjusted easily and be anywhere, and the position it ended up taking up could be adjusted as well, but only about two times the size of the area it was projected from. The speed of its size changes were surprisingly slow compared to the other ways she could adjust it, but she could move the position of the barrier very fast and anywhere around her.
Voraci let go of some weight to run back up the tunnel quickly. She wanted to test this but was trying to dig upwards. Once she was far enough away, the weight popped out of the rock. At that point she was close enough to the top that she didn’t want the speed as much. She did lower her weight using weight control, though.
Voraci brought up a barrier around her sub-mouth. She made it as big as it could be, just a few hundredths more than two times. Next, she brought it as close as she could to her actual, non projected sub mouth. She pulled back her sub mouth, with the projected sub-mouth still sitting atop it. She stepped back a bit and then fired.
First, the muscles in her sub mouth extended as fast as she could make them. It would have collided with the rock wall, but second, the barrier that she projected shot forwards. The rock in front of Voraci crumbled into bits. As Voraci always did, she picked up the remains of the section of stone and ate the pieces. It was not that surprising that it was a great way to mine, adding an additional, base increase to the speed, which wasn't harder to add even at high speeds? Voraci knew that speed and weight make power, so she knew it was great.

So Voraci continued.
