Ares is seemingly shocked beyond belief, but he quickly resumes his frown and expression of anger.
"Don't get in my way, mother. Don't make me do something I'll regret later."
The woman stood there with her arms crossed, having a really dark red elementalist coat activated.
"So… Rares-"
"Nobody is named Rares over here! I'm Ares! Ares! I will not accept the name my father gave me!"
"Tsk, such a shame, your dad was quite the charmer, y'know…"
"I'm not buying any of your bullshit. I don't know what was through your head when you fucked that animal of a man, but you only took half of the responsibility, which led right here. It's ending here and now. Get. The fuck. Away."
"Just like your father." said the woman, nodding her finger at Ares.
"You're just like your father, always wishing more. You selfish fuck. I'm glad I gave you away to your dad." continued his mother.
Ares gasps, he has had it. Ares quickly launches at her with a flame burst and goes for a punch. She easily catches his fist in her palm and stops him fully.
"And for your knowledge, your mom's name is Iulia." she said.
Iulia pulls back her arm and then launches a punch. Ares activates his elementalist coat and creates a large burst of flames, pushing Iulia back.
"Please, I don't want… I don't want to hurt you, please stay away…" said Ares in a slightly desperate tone.
Iulia clenches her fists, and a semi-transparent, glowing dark red drill appears on both of her fists.
"Show me how much you've grown. If you're worthy of your father's name." said Iulia.
She prepared to leap right at him, the ground crumbling beneath her feet and her long black hair flowing upwards, then she launched right at Ares. Ares creates a fire spear in his hand and flourishes it quickly before parrying Iulia's hands then proceeding to stab her, but Iulia manages to quickly recover and hit one of her drills against the spear. As both Ares and Iulia would push against each other, sparks would jump out in every direction from the clash, and Iulia's drill started to spin faster and faster, chipping away the spear. Ares quickly took notice of this, then shot another burst of flames with his other hand, pushing him back. He threw away his broken spear, then flew into the air. Ares starts spinning and combining the flame bursts, which he releases, eventually creating a small, blazing tornado. He grabbed onto it, then moved down onto Iulia quickly. Iulia canceled the drill with her left hand, then extended her arm towards Ares and clenched her fist. Suddenly, a red spheric zone traps Ares inside, and his tornado quickly fades away, so does his elementalist coat.
"What the hell? What's this? What the fuck?!" shouted Ares in confusion.
"Disintegration zone, dear. A basic move of the disintegration element." said Iulia calmly.
Ares grows angrier than ever. He forces all of his energy to conceal itself on his hands, activating a sort of overclocked elementalist coat onto his hands. He grips onto the pure nothingness within the zone and splits it apart with a mild struggle, then his elementalist coat instantly spreads onto his whole body. Iulia's eyes widened in shock.
"What?! No elementalist should be able to counter the disintegration zone!" shouted Iulia in confusion.
Ares raised his arms up, then slammed them, throwing two chained fire harpoons into Iulia, hitting straight into the middle of her chest and abdomen. Ares pulls himself towards her and stomps her into the ground, shattering the soil into little pieces. Ares increases the heat from his harpoons, and he pulls them up, trying to tear her body apart. Iulia's body flashes with something similar to some sort of red lightning, which is then released within a 10-meter square zone, demolishing anything in its path, disintegrating Ares' harpoons, and knocking him back. Ares falls on his back but gets up as soon as he hits the ground. Iulia gets up as well, but the holes Ares made in her body quickly healed.
"You almost got me there, I'll give you that. Maybe you are something special after all. But that won't be enough to even leave a permanent scratch on me."
Ares frowns harder and gets ready to engage again.
"However, I'm not concerned about you. I'm more concerned about your brother. He is the one I'm truly afraid of. You stand no chance against him. Heh, you should actually look up to him, he is the bigger brother."
Ares' eyes widen and time feels like it slows down. He cannot hear anything or feel anything anymore. All that he ever wanted now was to shut her mouth up, no matter the price.
"I promised myself I'd stop using the class coats. I promised myself that I'll stop beating myself down in every fight." said Ares in a calm tone as he slowly put his palms on the ground.
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
"However…"
The ground starts shaking, and the geysers start boiling.
"I'll promise you something. You will die, combat coat!" said Ares, activating his combat cost mode.
Flames gauge out of his eyes with great determination. Large flames burst from beneath his feet for a long distance in every direction, then he launched himself insanely fast at Iulia, his fists charged with strong embers. Iulia creates a red sphere with a white outline in her hand and uses it against Ares' fists. Once the two make contact, the sphere bursts and spreads, creating a force field that guards Iulia.
"So you're using the zone as defense now? You scum!" shouted Ares, flaming with anger.
But the forcefield seemed to work, as it slowly chipped away the flames from his fists. Once the flames are extinguished from his hands, he punches the forcefield, shattering it into nothing, and his punch ends up in Iulia's face, flinging her backwards. Ares relights the flames from his hands and rushes once more. Before Iulia would get to touch the ground, Ares hits her back with his knee, then grabs the back of her head and slams her face into the ground repeatedly, each slam forcing the geysers to puff with heat, always close to erupting. Red lightning flashes on her body once more, and Ares quickly flies back. Another burst of disintegration energy is launched from her body, which creates a tremor powerful enough to make the geysers erupt with lava. The heat is instantly raised, and the humidity is reduced to almost nothing, which makes even Ares struggle to breathe. However, Iulia had no side effects.
"Does she not breathe? What is up with her?" said Ares in his mind, trying to figure out what he should do.
Iulia stands up and looks right at Ares, with a visible scratch on her right cheek. She was pissed off. She extends her right arm at Ares, then clenches her fist, and dozens of disintegration zones start popping randomly around the battlefield.
"I'm tired of this fight. Survive this, and you'll have my respect." said Iulia as she turned away and started walking.
Ares gets pissed off, he creates a fire spear and throws it at Iulia, but a disintegration zone appears, deleting his spear instantly.
"Survive this? What does she mean? The zones are idle!" said Ares as he kept himself airborne.
The geysers finish their eruption, which leads to the entire battleground being covered in boiling lava. Suddenly, the zones start to slowly approach Ares, progressively becoming quicker. Ares launches a fire spear at one of the zones, but it does nothing. Suddenly, a zone sticks onto his arm and progressively chips away his elementalist coat. At the same time, the zone destroys itself, quickly removing the coat. Ares realizes that his fire attacks aren't solid enough for the zones to dig into, that's why they eat his coat so much harder. Then he gets an idea.
"Wait… Lava is nothing but... Solidified heat, right? Like some sort of solid-state fire... Doesn't that mean I can…"
Then, Ares tries to manipulate the lava by controlling its heat, just like the flames. He clenches his arm as hard as he can, then swipes it. A small puddle of lava jumps at his command into a disintegration zone, managing to destroy it with ease. Ares starts panting heavily as lava manipulation takes much more energy than he ever thought.
"I'm a one-shot anyways, I should turn off the coat since it uses energy and does not give me any boost in this situation." said Ares in his mind as he turned off his coat.
Ares let out a loud cry as he struggled as hard as he could to launch magma and lava into the disintegration zones, destroying them one by one. The more Ares would manipulate Magma, the easier it felt for him to do so. Suddenly, a disintegration zone hits his back and it curdles onto him, but, out of nowhere, Ares feels like something unlocked within him. He activates his elementalist coat as a last resort, but this time it was different, it was a deep black coat, which then burst partially with orange magma flying in every direction, destroying the disintegration zone at once. Ares looks at himself in total awe.
"What is this… Is this… Magma? Magma elementalist coat?... Did my element just… Evolve?!" said Ares in his mind, shocked.
But he didn't have time to analyze himself, as there were still enough zones to take care of. He stomps the ground, and several magma bursts explode from the ground in front of him, splashing onto the zones and eliminating them. Ares realized that the heat and humidity did not bother him anymore when he had the magma elementalist coat activated. He finished off the last zones and then took his orb out, which indicated a direction towards a geyser that appeared like it hadn't erupted when the others did. Ares goes and takes a look inside it. He sees the golden plate stuck deep inside the geyser, most likely blocking the magma from coming out. Ares tried to manipulate the geyser into erupting, but all of his efforts were in vain. The plate was truly stuck there. The hole was too small for Ares to fit into, however, the orb was. And so Ares gets another idea. He coats the orb with his elementalist energy, then drops it in the hole. The orb swiftly falls through the geyser, reaching the plate safely.
Meanwhile. . .
Darius reaches the mountain with The Shining Peak. He puts his hands on his hips, then looks up. The peak was covered in clouds, and the mountain was way taller than even he would have expected.
“Come on, Darius, no one will stab you if you climb it, come on, it’s alright, you got your team to back you up… Even if they’re totally not here.” said Darius in his mind in a futile attempt to motivate himself.
Darius sighs one last time, then starts climbing the mountain. One step at a time, slowly going up.
"Come on, almost there, come on!" said Darius with a smile on his face.
His hand accidentally slaps off the rock, and he falls down… the 2 meters he climbed… Darius gets heavily discouraged by the ratio between his efforts and his progress. He gets up, then thinks about how he should climb the mountain quickly, and then he gets an idea. Clouds release lightning when the charge on the ground is of opposite power. He tries to focus and inserase the negative charge of his body. Nothing happens. He breathes out, then breathes in heavily, increasing the positive charge of his body. The clouds turn black, and lightning strikes Darius. He uses this chance to fling himself upwards, and it works perfectly, but he's flung beyond the peak by 100 meters. Darius can see the sun shine bright for a few seconds, then he starts falling down. Scared not to get flattened beyond recognition, he performs the same trick. Lightning strikes him again, and he uses it to fling into the peak of the mountain, leading to Darius crashing into it. The impact is so strong that it obliterates the peak as a whole and creates a crater. Darius has a bit of damage on his body, along with a feeling of dizziness. He stands up slowly and looks around him. He quickly searches his pockets desperately for the orb. Luckily, he still has it. He leaves it in his pocket, then walks outside the crater. He looks down, and he sees… A very familiar figure. It was… stefan3B?... But in a different color palette. He was… Orange!
