VERSE SEVEN: …WHO ARE YOU AGAIN?

Today, I am with my father in his laboratory. He will begin teaching me medicine concoction! Apparently, my father as a healer were also known for his well-made medicines. And since I am old enough to learn, he have me train in his laboratory. It’s amusing to know there is a lot of herbs similar to the ones back in my old world. The difference is appearance and some types with ‘attitude’.

Kresla: Hoho~ This one looks good for making painkillers. And we’ll be able to make it super effective! The other will be perfect for motion sickness. Take note of this honey. Here, wanna hold it?

I just look suspiciously at the ‘herbs’ in my father’s hand. Who would like to hold it? The pain killers looks like a killer with that laughing face… yes, LAUGHING FACE! And to my horror, my father looks so delighted staring at them like some precious treasure. No, he looks like he’s going for a torture with angelic smile.

Daina: ahmm… papa? I have memorize all your books regarding medicinal plants, biology and chemicals but, I are you sure about them being ‘medicinal’? For me, they just look poison. And that slimy snot thing… is that really  for motion sickness?

Kresla: Well, of course! This joie herb is the best as pain reliever! The louder they laugh the better. Aside from that there is a lot of benefits regarding this herb. It is a beauty secret! Your skin will definitely be smoother and softer. And your hair will be glossier~ having this as you tea will also improve your sleep. It has the soothing taste you’ll never get tired of thus! The teas I make with this is one of the best sellers! Basically, joie has the components that calms the nerves and relax muscles. Laughter is the best medicine has been given justice by this plant don’t you think so?

I just smile wryly at his sparkling eyes. My father looks scary when he talks about his plants and his job, like an executioner with a gentle smile. And I know the saying laughter is the best medicine! But not in some kind of plant. It just, somehow it may curse you and suck your soul? I shiver at the thought. Ugh… now it starts laughing like a madman as he cuts it.

This continues everyday. My early morning is torturous training with my mother, then eight hours at school and a four to five more hours set aside for alchemy with my father.  It was tiring but it’s worth it. Somehow, doing alchemy boost me my confidence to cover my obvious weaknesses. It calms me down knowing there is something I can do better with this body of mine. My brain is sharper than my previous and has photographic memory. Awesome right? I can give justice to what is beauty if the brain is empty. Still, it can’t erase my lack of balance, strength and force inability. Guess nobody is perfect.

One morning, during break, I am eating lunch with the twin as usual. They were chatting or should I say, gossiping about some happenings in our little state. Its just commonly about who gets another wife since polygamy is allowed, or who is getting along with who or who is their type. Yeah.,. Just a typical teenage topic.

Ilios: Huh, just look who’s here again sister. He really never learn, does he?

Fengari: He’s really dumb. It’s something you can never cure. Let’s go before he share his ‘illness’ with us.

Before I can react, both of them grab each of my arm. I see my only male classmate standing with his face blushing from anger. I think his name is… Cunie? Cannor… I can’t remember since he never introduce himself and the people just call him young man though he doesn’t have the man part obvious yet. I observe that he always has a frown in his face from annoyance every time I get the chance. I never manage to introduce myself to him as well since the twin always drag me the moment class is over.

??C: *annoyed* I’m not here to talk to the two of you! I’m here for Daina!

Daina: um… I know it’s been two years since we all became classmates… and… I’m sorry but… Who are you again..?

His expressions were really funny but I know I am at fault here. It’s rude not knowing your classmate’s name for two years. Not to mention that there is only three of them. The twin laugh so hard they roll on the floor after they recover from shock. Come on, you’re at fault here too! Don’t just laugh!

Ilios: Kyahahaha…. Oh my god! I can’t breathe! Kyahahaha! Daina! You really are the best lil’ sister!

Fengari: fufufu… As expected of our sworn younger sis. You never fail your big sisters.

Hmmmn… Ive notice it before but it seems the high spirited Ilios is always the first one to talk and followed by Fengari, who are milder and more researve. But I get the feeling that even though Fengari seems mild, she’s a lot scarier than  Ilios in other ways. Better not get in her bad side. By the way, I don't remember  agreeing about the sister thing.

Cunzai: My name is Cunzai Saversen. If your thinking why I introduce myself only now is because of that  devil twin in your side. I have always wanted to talk to you but never really manage to. So if I were you, you better think twice about hanging out with them.

Ilios knit her eyebrows together while Fengari just narrowed her eyes. I can see both of them were fuming with anger. I can bet they’ve at it since last two years.

Ilios: Now you’ve done it!!!

This will be my last week of vacation and i am kinda sad about it but *sigh* time to transform as a working girl again next week.
