Chapter 81: Transfer

Chapter 81: Transfer

Shino casually sold the blue item, the Mithril shotgun. Again?

Even if it were the weakest vision enhancement, he might have considered it. But this shotgun was utterly useless to him.

What would he need it for? To shoot himself in the head and end it all, perhaps?

Frustration bubbled within him, and a glance at the marketplace only intensified his irritation.

A 1st Step blue ability: 1,000 points.

A 1st Step purple ability: 5,000 points.

Were these prices for actual purchases or merely for display?

Shino felt a surge of annoyance. With a swift motion, he exited the Death Game.

Back in the real world, the sun had risen, its glaring rays striking Shino's body. Instantly, he felt weak, his senses screaming of danger.

Quickly, he sought refuge in the shadows. "Seems like that guy's gone."

"That's good, but… did I forget something?"

Um…

Right, Lilith.

He intended to find her, but where could she be? She hadn’t mentioned a location before leaving.

Find her by instinct?

Shino fell into deep thought.

...

Meanwhile, the GPA high-ranking officials convened, poring over reports laid out before them.

“The vampires haven’t done anything in recent days…”

“On the other hand, the Kitsune seem to have some plans regarding our angel.”

“Speaking of the angel, we should examine this report.”

“Within the past two days, her actions have caused nearly 4 billion dollars in damages. Who’s going to pay for this?”

Silence fell over the GPA officials.

“You didn’t inform them we’re doing this for humanity, did you?”

“Yeah… we did, but the compensation also benefits humanity.”

“And regarding the angel, there’s one more matter…”

“Can you just tell me everything at once?!”

“The angel has started to be silent recently.”

“So?”

“She’s silent, but she’s also ‘accidentally’ hanged many of our people with her wings.”

“Accidentally?”

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

“Are you serious?”

Someone else shook their head. “Actually, the angel began rampaging last night.”

“Why?”

“Because… the angel fell asleep. We attempted to wake her with bells. We rang and shook them, successfully waking her up, but we also enraged her…”

“Of course, the angel is uncontrollable.”

“Director of Asia, what do you think? You’re the only one who can manage her.”

The Director of Asia remained silent, staring blankly at the table with both hands resting atop it, seemingly lost in thought.

“Director of Asia?”

“What’s wrong with him?”

“He’s been like this since yesterday. He keeps zoning out…”

“Ah, we understand, we understand. You’re all parents; you should sympathize with him.”

...

New York, upon the Statue of Liberty.

A hundred-winged angel stood majestically atop the statue. Surrounding her were police cars, and a swarm of helicopters hovered at a distance, all transfixed by the sight. Moon couldn't help but feel a rush of exhilaration at the sensation of being “surrounded by fans.”

The police below dared not approach the angel, their shouts of alarm echoing in the air.

“What the heck? This little girl is going to destroy the Statue of Liberty!”

“In just a few days, the angel’s destruction in New York has already surpassed the economic losses caused by the vampires for months!”

“Now we remember—besides releasing the bloodhounds twice, the vampires haven’t really done anything…”

Huddled atop the Statue of Liberty, the angel closed her eyes. Soon, an unusual scream pierced the air—a sound she had never encountered before. Intrigued, Moon flapped her wings and shot into the sky.

Boom!

A tremendous force erupted, the wind howling, and the Statue of Liberty began to crumble.

The people in the helicopters were left in stunned silence.

“What the hell?!”

“Contact the GPA quickly! This isn’t a 4 billion dollar matter anymore!”

In that instant, Moon soared through the city, descending rapidly into a deserted, desolate suburban area. But as she landed, the strange roar had vanished.

Moon tilted her head, perplexed. Suddenly, a muscular creature resembling a tiger-like dog lunged at her!

Sx!!

The creature’s attack was swiftly dodged by Moon.

“Fast and strong, what is this?”

“You don’t look like a vampire.”

The dog-like creature shook its head, rising to its full height. A purple figure descended from the sky beside it.

“Celestial Beast, be careful. The angel is stronger than you think.”

011 Celestial Beast exhaled a puff of red gas. “No need to tell me. My hunting senses are already on alert!”

Its instincts screamed that the angel was a formidable opponent, at least on par with itself.

To understand why the Celestial Beast was here, we must rewind six days. Zero had ordered the search for all members of the Chaos Insurgency, summoning the Celestial Beast first.

Naira Sorkin was unaware of the methods Zero employed to summon him back, but the two had reached some sort of agreement. Afterward, the Celestial Beast was airlifted to the front lines to confront the angel.

Moon scrutinized the creature before her. “Your voice is very unique. I can feel it.”

“It sounds more like a recording than something a living creature could produce. Can you tell me how you differ from others?”

The Celestial Beast immediately shifted into hunting mode. Thorns erupted across its body as it charged at the angel with full force!

Moon, sensing the impending threat, flapped her wings, slashing toward the Celestial Beast!

But the Celestial Beast's speed suddenly surged, surpassing that of her wings. It clamped its jaws around one of her wings!

Splat, splat!

Fresh blood sprayed forth as the Celestial Beast tore a wing from her body.

“Pfft.”

The Celestial Beast spat out the feathers it had bitten off. Moon glanced at where her wing had been severed. “Powerful bite, strong eruption.”

“Even compared to the True Ancestor, it’s not far behind.”

Just a bit clumsy and stupid, she mused.

The Celestial Beast leaped into the air again, charging toward Moon. In response, she shifted her body and turned in the air, stabbing downward with her wings!

Splat!

Her wings sliced through the Celestial Beast’s skin, leaving a small wound.

“Very strong defense.”

The Celestial Beast had missed its target.

The agile angel proved too elusive in the sky, a disadvantage for the Celestial Beast, which couldn’t fly.

The Celestial Beast charged several more times, but each time, the nimble angel dodged and retaliated with slashing wings!

“This isn’t working… She’s too agile. This open terrain doesn’t suit me,” the Celestial Beast muttered, frustrated.

“Naira Sorkin, can you help me get into the sky?”

Upon hearing this, Naira Sorkin glowed with a purple light. He waved his hand, and the Celestial Beast began to levitate!

But mere seconds later, the Celestial Beast crashed back to the ground.

“Honestly, you’re a little heavy…”
