Chapter 125: He’s even crazier than me…

Watching Ye Long walking step by step towards the sky, Adam subconsciously crouched down. In a daze, he saw an image of a temple.

But in a blink of an eye, that image vanished.

Adam covered his forehead. “It’s… rationality. Only when rationality drops to a certain level can we see the Old One’s Temple…”

Thinking this, Adam suddenly looked at a Serpent’s Hand member.

“Where’s Black Tongue? Use Black Tongue to hit me!”

The Serpent’s Hand member was stunned. He instantly took out a black, hard ox tongue from his sleeve.

“Adam-sama, this isn’t good, is it?”

“Hit me!”

Seeing Adam’s insistence, the man had no choice but to act.

He raised the Black Tongue and slapped it hard on Adam’s face!

Slap!

With a crisp sound, Adam’s eyes widened, foam coming from his mouth. His eyes instantly became unfocused.

That almost knocked Adam’s soul out!

The so-called Black Tongue is also an Ancient Artifact. Its effect is to cause a certain degree of mental attack to the target.

This kind of mental attack isn’t strong. It mainly depends on the individual’s will.

The person hit by the Black Tongue will first feel their brain explode, then hallucinations will appear before their eyes.

Just like now, Adam saw an enormous black octopus, grabbing his body with its wet tentacles!

“Ugh…”

Adam covered his neck, his pupils dilating violently!

His consciousness started to fade. And at this very moment, the Old One’s Temple appeared!

Adam gritted his teeth, instantly breaking free, crawling and running forward in a twisted posture!

“A ha ha ha, I’m beginning to understand everything!”

“Great serpent, I will definitely save you, you’ll see!”

Under everyone’s gaze, Adam crawled towards the sky like a madman!

He moved quickly, occasionally letting out terrifying laughter.

The people looked at each other.

“We… shouldn’t go up, right?”

“It’s too creepy.”

“Agree.”

“Is Adam-sama in danger?”

“Um… how about I hit you too, so you can go up and have a look?”

“No, no, no, I trust Adam-sama!”

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

...

At the top of the temple.

Ye Long struggled to the top. Beneath the giant golden statue were two thick, heavy stone doors.

On each of the stone doors, there were two different words, and a circular pattern encircled by a recessed line.

The pattern on the left door depicted four pirates. They raised their weapons, their feet on a sailing ship, as if they were about to charge forward.

The pattern on the right door, however, was a giant monster with an octopus-like head, a human-like body, and a pair of mangled wings on its back.

Half of the monster’s body was submerged in the sea. Its body reached into the clouds. Its head was covered in countless eyes and tentacles.

And between the two doors were nine spheres.

A small path between the two doors pointed downward, like an arrow piercing through nine stars.

Or perhaps, this looked like the pattern of the Nine Stars Pearl.

“Zaik… Francis… Barrosa… Karen…”

Something seemed to be whispering in the darkness. That voice had been echoing since the moment Ye Long set foot on the temple!

Ye Long reached out and touched the stone door. Clearly, the four figures on the left were the four pirates in the story.

What about the creature on the right?

Was this the Sea King?

Ye Long had never seen the Sea King, but he’d heard other Fish-Men describe him. The Sea King was enormous, indescribable, and terrifying.

This was quite similar.

Just as Ye Long was about to push the door open, a figure suddenly approached!

Ye Long quickly dodged. He saw Adam charging headfirst at the stone doors. The two enormous stone doors were smashed open by his force!

Ye Long blinked. Adam stood up, shaking his head. “Ha ha ha, I found it! I found it!”

This guy…

“His rationality dropped even lower than mine.”

Unbelievable. Just now, when Ye Long tried to push the doors, he couldn’t move them at all.

But Adam appeared and pushed the two stone doors open with a single charge. Why?

Could it be because Ye Long’s rationality hadn’t dropped enough?

Ye Long thought it was very possible.

After all, the condition to see the temple was that rationality drops to a certain level. So, some of the things in the temple, or maybe the mechanisms, might also be connected to rationality.

Adam completely ignored Ye Long and charged into the temple, laughing.

Ye Long followed closely behind. The temple was pitch black, but as they walked, strange fireflies lit up around them.

There was only one staircase leading downwards in the temple. Adam dropped to all fours and instantly disappeared.

Seeing this, Ye Long also increased his speed. After all, it seemed that this section of the path had no traps.

The two continued downward. Soon, Ye Long arrived in a spacious hall.

This hall was strange. The floor was soft and spongy, like the flesh of a creature. The surrounding pillars and walls were the same.

It was pitch black. Ye Long looked around. There were many large murals on the walls.

“Murals…”

Ye Long walked to a mural. The mural was colorful, the colors vibrant, as if they had just been painted.

The mural before Ye Long was of an enormous golden treasury.

The treasury was filled with gold and jewels. A skeleton wearing a black robe and a set of golden teeth was hugging the gold.

“Zaik… Driven by greed, you pathetic creature, you shall be buried here with your treasures. This tomb of greed, isn’t this exactly what you’ve always dreamed of?”

A whisper came. That voice seemed to be explaining the mural to Ye Long.

Then, Ye Long looked at another mural.

It was a giant ghost ship. A man knelt on the deck in agony, dark green fog erupting from his body.

“Francis, piracy and evil deeds brought you to this bitter end. You don’t want to die? Fine, I’ll grant you your wish… You shall live forever like this!”

Ye Long looked at the next mural.

The mural depicted a man dressed as a captain. He was running from the Old One’s Temple, black fog chasing after him.

The man was running desperately, as if he were about to fall.

“Ha ha ha, Barrosa, King of the Ocean. Thank you for releasing us. This curse is our gift to you!”

The last mural.

The mural showed a young man, covered in blood, kneeling in a room, clutching a Golden Trident.

“Karen, you stupid idealist, just as stupid as your grandfather, Barrosa. You thought you were a fairytale hero who could defeat monsters with a divine weapon and then go down in history? No, you’re nothing!”

“The only thing you can do is choose a less unsightly posture, and then wait for death!”

Who was whispering this all along?

After reading all the murals, Ye Long continued down. The path ahead was now completely covered in that soft, flesh-like material.

In short, it was extremely disgusting.
