Chapter 4: The III

Chapter 4: The III

In the kitchen, Mei tossed the broken glass into the vase. The glass dissolved quickly, and a clear liquid like water emerged.

"Well, if it's glass, the effect should be transparent..." Mei mused to herself "If it can turns people transparent, it's almost like hiding, but clothes wouldn't become invisible, if it uncontrollable transparency then is not a good thing."

She looked at a small cage on the side then picked up a barely alive chameleon. Without hesitation, she dropped the chameleon into the vase. It barely had time to struggle before dissolving and becoming part of the colorless liquid.

Mei poured the liquid from the vase into a bottle, then turned to go downstairs.

...

"Drink it."

Han was a little taken back, "This... what is this?"

The liquid in the bottle was colorless and transparent, like water but slightly viscous.

"Drink and you will know," Mei exclaimed.

Han took a deep breath, picked up the bottle, and drank it all in one gulp. The liquid had no flavor, but it felt like snot going down his throat. A second later, his hands suddenly disappeared.

"My hand... it disappeared?" Han said, alarmed, touching his face "No, my hand is still there."

Chino observed, "His head is gone too?"

Han had vanished, leaving only his clothes floating in midair. Moments later, even his clothes turned completely transparent.

Seeing this, Mei pulled out her cell phone and began to take notes, "Glass and chameleon mixture results in a colorless, transparent effect. Person and clothes become transparent together."

Mei stepped forward and touched the invisible Han "Hm, I can still feel you; it's just that you've become transparent. How do you feel?"

Han responded, "It's dazzling and annoying. Even with my eyes closed, I can still see the light."

Mei pulled the window curtain in and Han suddenly screamed.

"Aaaah!!"

"Pain, light, burning my eyes!"

Mei pulled back the window curtain, "So when you see the light, you will have a strong burning feeling, can you try to turn off the transparency?"

"Turn off...transparent?"

Han was stunned for a moment, "How to do it?"

"Try to imagine a color."

Han closed his eyes. A second later, his whole body and clothes appeared at the same time.

But it's green.

"Try to think about a little more color, skin color, hair color, clothes color." Mei said.

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

Han tried to recall what he looked like, along with his clothes.

In the blink of an eye, all the color on his body was restored.

Mei nodded, "Through color imagination, you can change your own color, now try to imagine yourself without any color at all"

Wang Ino's body disappeared and once again became transparent.

"Do you feel like there is something else wrong?" Mei asked, observing Han closely.

Han shook his head, "No, it's just... I feel a bit strange. How should I say it... I feel like I'm not myself."

Chino was stunned for a moment, "This feeling, I also had..."

"Do you also have the feeling that the person in front of you cannot be offended? It's like there's a voice in your head telling you to obey her orders unconditionally, otherwise you will die?"

Han nodded repeatedly, "That's right, it's like this."

"Other than that, I feel like I've been sublimated, from spirit to flesh, a bit strange... Am I still me?"

Listening to their conversation, Mei started taking notes again.

"No matter what the materials are, the person who uses the Potion will be born with the thought of unconditional obedience. If they don't obey, they will die."

"But how..." Mei murmured.

If it's really as they say, there's no need to worry about being betrayed.

She titled her new document, "Number 003: The Hollow."

...

The next day.

The two of them stayed at Mei's cafe for a day, during which time Mei had them undergo various tests to collect data.

"Lord Aurora, may I ask, can I control my transformation like 003?" Chino inquired.

Mei pondered for a moment, "If I can find the corresponding materials, then your evolution will definitely not stop here."

"Okay, let's end it here," she continued "I want to bury myself in research for a while. You all can go. Give me your contact number. If nothing happens, then don't contact me."

Raven flew to Mei's shoulder, "Do I also need to go?"

"You go watch Chino."

"Yes! My master."

...

When all three were gone, Mei exclaimed, "I should try to avoid contact with 002 and 003 as much as possible."

She resolved to find a secluded, hidden location large and safe enough to serve as a base. Once established, she could meet and research them there.

Mei looked at her account balance and groaned "Ah.... I'm quickly going bankrupt."

She pondered for a moment "Is there any way to make money quickly and safely?"

Suddenly, an idea struck her "Ah.... Yes!"

"Whoever uses the Potion will obey me. So, I'll find a rich person and let them use the Potion."

A mischievous smile spread across her face "This time, let's try a more special combination..."

Outside the cafe, the two men and one crow looked at each other.

"My Master didn't give y'all a mission. Do you know what this means?" Raven asked.

"What do you mean?" the two men responded in unison.

Raven's body transformed into a black-haired young girl. "Don't forget, my Master mentioned materials and evolution."

"If we can find the corresponding materials, my Master will let us continue to evolve and entrust us with stronger abilities."

"My Master's secret message is that we should find these materials ourselves, rather than sitting around doing nothing."

Hearing that, the two men nodded silently, "It makes sense...."

"But we don't know what materials the Lord wants us to find," Han said.

The Raven girl shook her head "With such intelligence, it's no wonder my Master would think you guys are entangled."

"If my Master knew exactly what materials she needed, do you think she would still need us to go find them?"

"It's very clear, my Master doesn't know, that's why we need to find it ourselves!"

"It makes sense!" They echoed.

"So, act, you fools!" the Raven girl commanded.

...

In the cafe, Mei poured herself a cup of coffee and took a sip.

"Ah, not bad."

She leaned back in her chair, pondering the implications of her latest experiment "I hope those guys don't cause trouble. If anything is revealed, I might get into serious trouble. I don't want to be questioned."

She drummed her fingers on the table, considering her options "However, in case this kind of situation really happens, I need to have a backup plan."

"The Hollow Potion has the least side effects at present. The Imitator Potion has not been tested on humans, so I won't take any risks."

Mei looked at the various vials and notes scattered across her workspace, her mind racing with possibilities "I need to refine these potions further and maybe even develop new ones. Each experiment brings me closer to perfecting the process."

She took another sip of coffee, "If I can create a Potion that has no any adverse effects, I can safeguard my work and my future."
