After leaving Kaiyu at the city’s gates, I went on my way toward the marketplace. Finding clothes for now is my principal objective.

I need to hurry up and change, I don’t want to keep wearing those girly clothes after all.

But at the same time, I might also try to enjoy the place, this is my first time visiting another world’s city. The architecture in the city are kinda the same as in the medieval age, but it’s cleaner than I thought it would be.

The marketplace wasn’t that far from the entrance, it must have been accommodated for the merchants to quickly reach it.

There’s a very large number of street stalls. Some were food seller with a cart, others are just sitting on a carpet with a few goods at the sides. The place is extremely loud, lots of people shouting could be heard as they were yelling how cheap their products are.

I felt like anything could be found in this place, as for what I was looking for, I only needed a single glance to find a few clothes seller.

Weapons seller, grocer’s stall, butcher… There’s a very large number of stalls, I wonder if they really all manage to make enough money.

This is also the first time I see people walking in the street with knives, swords and bows on them, apart from the cosplayer that is…

In a way it’s kinda impressive yet scary if someone begin a fight, wouldn’t it end up with a dead? But this mustn't happen very often with the number of city guards patrolling around.

Only a few hours passed since I ate at the house, yet my stomach is growling because of the attractive scent of roasted meat that is emanating from some food seller’s stall.

I feel very tempted to buy one… I wonder how expensive it is. I have around two hundred gold on myself, but I don’t know if that’s a lot or little.

What should I do, I feel like I won’t be able to stop thinking about it if I don’t eat it now…

“Do you want one little lady?” The stall keeper asked me.

Without knowing it, I approached a stall named ‘Monster’s Taste’. The owner is a large and bulky man bald man in his thirties, is that really a merchant? Frankly with the number of scars on his face, he would probably be better off as a bandit leader than a cook. Think I am bad for thinking badly of him?... HE CALLED ME YOUNG LADY!!

“I am a boy…” I sulked.

If it wasn’t for the fact that my appearance really looks like a girl, I would have probably yelled at him.

“PUHAHAHA!! My bad little brat, looking at your lack breasts, it’s pretty obvious indeed.”

“But you are also bad you know? Wearing clothes like those, is that one of you hobbies?”

Should I use the ‘Fire Snake’ card on him?... Someone the black window already appeared at my side like telling me “DO IT!… JUST DO IT!”

Managing to suppress the darks feeling inside of me, I only stiffly smiled at the bald man.

“Haha… Sorry for you but I don’t have such bad hobbies, because of certain circumstances I lost my clothes and someone lent me their old clothes.”

The man smiled broadly

“HAHAHA. You’re really unlucky lad. My wife is a tailor working in a stall not far from here, why don’t you visit her? Since you’re so cute, she’ll definitely give you a little discount.”

“Don’t call me cute!” I shouted to him.

“You don’t have to get angry, I only said the truth.” He replied with a broad smile.

Ah… The window once again reappeared by my side as if it was responding to my feelings, the ‘Fire Snake’ card was even slightly flashing. But I quickly dismissed it.

“Haah… Just tell me the name of her shop, I’ll visit her. But can I at least have a skewer?”

“Ah right, sorry lad. It’s fifty copper for one, but I’ll make it thirty just for you!”

Copper?... Only got gold coins. I should’ve asked Kaiyu the value of theses two hundred gold coins.

“I only got gold coins, will that still do?”

“Haha, then one gold coin will do.”

After giving him one gold, he gave me back seventy copper coins that I stored in my purse. So one gold equal a hundred copper.

Extending a roasted skewer toward me, just the scent made me salivate. They're five big pieces of meat on a skewer of around forty centimeters long. The five pieces are all different like each one belongs to a different animal.

The meats are shining at the contact with the sun’s light. A brown liquid was covering them, probably some sauce, it give off a sweet yet sour fragrance.

“Like it? You have good eyes, my shop is the only one selling skewer of this quality! You can search through the whole town, you won’t find a shop like mine.” He said as he lightly hit his chest.

Concentrated on the meat, I slowly brought it to my mouth and took a little bite.

“How’s that?” He asked with confidence.

“...”

What the hell is this?!

It was like an explosion of flavors in my mouth. As expected, the meat’s oil was sweet, but due to its appearance, I expected the texture to be a bit hard to chew. But I was wrong, the chewy texture was soft and melted inside my mouth.

The sweetness adjusts with the sourness of the sauce. The normally bitter and heavy taste of the meat was lightened and the fusion between the sauce and the meat’s juice complemented each other.

Moreover, each piece of meat had a taste on its own. Sadly, even Kaiyu’s delicious cooking can’t compare to this. This man is definitely a master cook.

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

“It’s so-so.”

“Hoho, if that’s the case, why are you smiling so happily?”

Crap…

“Who’s smiling?! Are you dreaming?”

“Hehe, you truly aren’t an honest fellow aren’t ya?”

Embarrassed by my reaction, I turned and started walking away.

“Hmph… You better improve, I’ll come back.”

“Sure lad, next time I’ll have an ever better meat. By the way, my wife’s stall is the ‘White Feather’.”

Ignoring him yet keeping the name of her wife’s shop in my mind, I walked further away in the marketplace.

* * * * *

Is that the shop?

After walking several minutes, I arrived in front of a shop with for signboard a white feather. The banner indeed made it easy to find it, it wasn’t a stall like most of the vendor, but a real shop in a building.

The shop was filled with frilly decorations which gave it an impression of ‘Women Only’ shop. After entering it, I realized that most of the clothes were indeed for women. Did that baldy send me to buy women clothes?! Maybe I should have killed him after all…

“Oh, my… Such a cute girl, what are you looking for?”

A blond woman close to her forty asked me, she must definitely be that baldy’s wife. Despite her age, she looked like a cheerful woman with a slightly childish side which made it hard to hate her.

But once again I am misunderstood for a girl… I am going to cry you know?

“The owner of ‘Monster Taste’ recommended me this place. By the way, I am a man.”

The woman looked shocked as if she had been hit by thunder, she suddenly made a large grin as she ran toward me.

“Impossible, you really are a man? How can that be? Most of my customer aren’t half as cute as you! How interesting!”

With lightspeed, she started touched every single inch of my body. Her astonishment increased as she touched my chest. Hey, can’t this be called ‘molesting’?

If a day ago someone told me I would be molested in another world, I wouldn’t have believed it…

“Fufufu, Baros truly sent me someone interesting. Don’t worry, I’ll definitely make you some beautiful clothes.” She said as her eyes were shining with bright stars dancing inside, I have a very bad feeling.

“Can you at least… Keep them manly?”

“Oh? Judging from your clothes, I thought you wanted to look cute.” A question mark appeared above her head.

“As if… I want people to be able to tell that I am a man. I need at least five set of clothes.”

“Huuh… Very well, I’ll do my best. You are lucky I received some new tissue of quality recently. It will probably cost around… 90 gold, but I’ll make it 60 for you.” She said with a wide smile.

Sixty gold… That’s a lot isn’t it? But since Kaiyu gave me two hundred, she must have know that it would be that expensive. Moreover, they’ll be custom made, simple clothes won’t suit me after all. Can’t help it, I’ll have to trust her.

“I’ll pay in advance, when do you think they’ll be ready?” I said as I took the coins out of my purse.

“If there aren’t that many customers, it’ll probably take me one hour… Two hours maybe if it become busy.”

Two hours to make clothes by hand?! Isn’t that a bit too fast? Maybe I should bury my common sense somewhere deep in the ground where nobody will find it. What will I do if I am surprised by every little thing I see.

But two hours… It’s more enough, I’ll just roam a little I guess and come pick them up before meeting with Kaiyu.

“I’ll come pick them up later in the day then, do you need my sizes?”

The woman smiled like I said something funny.

“I already took them earlier.” She said while slightly blushing, was it when she molested me?!

“T-Then I’ll leave it to you!” I said as I quickly ran away.

“Huhuhu, how cute… Incidentally, my name is Maie. See you later little boy.”

As expected, she is truly that baldy’s, Baros’s wife. She is as troublesome as him to deal with… But they seem to be nice people at least.

I’ve been walking for an entire hour through the entire market, and this is REALLY a world filled with magic. There’s all kind of item being sold here, magic swords, healing potions, magic scrolls, and crystal… I feel like I entered a novel’s world.

Yet, I didn’t buy anything. I only arrived a few days ago, I don’t want to risk my life yet so buying a magic sword or armor would be a waste.

I don’t know about the future, maybe after learning how to properly use the Kishi Cards I’ll think about roaming in the world.

If the Support Cards make me able to safely travel the world, then why not? Maybe Kaiyu will follow me afterward.

As I was blindly walking, lost in my thoughts, I finally noticed I had exited the marketplace.

I now was in a place that looked like a residential district. Greeted by high numbers of inns, one particular place caught my eyes.

Far larger than any other buildings, it had a large signboard which depicted a sword, a staff, a bow and a shield. There were also two words written beneath the board.

Luckily, all of the writing I’ve seen until now were in my main language. Reading words isn’t a problem.

It was written ‘Adventurer’s Guild’.

I didn’t expect something this cliche to exist in this world… Seriously is this a novel?

Even though I sound disdainful, I can’t stop the urge to enter it. This is the dream of all otaku in the world to enter this place though I won’t join it right now, I might do it someday in the future.

“Hey you, do you know how to read and write?”

A young woman with long brown eyes and hairs clothed in greens and whites clothes asked me from behind.

“M-Me? Yes, I know” I immediately replied surprised.

“Good, you’ll do!”

She said as she grabbed my hand and dragged me inside the Adventurer’s Guild.
