Aiken watched the woman ran away from him. He can feel the stinging pain in his cheek. Then the taste of the candy in his mouth.
Although he and Lilith had shared a lot of deep kisses in the past, she was always willing. Today, she was not and that caused ripples in Aiken's heart.
'Has she already... moved on?' Aiken felt solemn as he thought about it. He held his throbbing head and look at the direction where she ran off.
Ace was determined on seeing her again. One way or another.
___________
Blare reached her apartment and closed the door immediately. She walked directly towards her bedroom, laid in bed and buried her head in the pillow. Then she screamed out her uneasiness.
After calming down, she sat up and was in dazed as she stared on an empty wall. As she was contemplating, a bitter feeling aroused in her heart.
Her lips were tightly shut and her eyes showed confusion and displeasure.
It was Blare's first kiss.
Even though she's occupying another body, it was undeniable that she - her soul - experience it. It caused her heart to pound rapidly.
Blare was convinced that her pounding heart does not indicate that she was in love. Rather, it was the feeling of being kissed that made her confused and baffled.
Either way, Blare was set on ignoring the man for the rest of the mission. After what happened, she can no longer act normal around him.
For the rest of her stay here, Blare will consider Aiken as a stranger. As a person that she never knew in the first place.
____________
Blare's training in the Rosenthal Conglomerate took 3 months to complete. However, 3 times a month, Aiken would show up in front of the apartment building she's staying in. Blare remain unwavering and did not respond to any of his awkward greetings. Other than that, her boss - Ace Jaeger LeCoultre - seemed to be satisfied with her performance.
Unbeknownst to her, Ace had always keep an eye out on her. The man saw that the rumoured bratty Lilith was nowhere to be found. Blare was diligent and would always show her willingness to learn.
Both Blare and Lilith had different experience and view of the corporate world. However, Blare was fortunate because what Lilith knows would be embedded into her. She concluded that she's gaining experience by executing Lilith's knowledge and continuously honing it.
'If I'm gaining what the women - the body I will temporarily reside in - knows, their manners, experience, and talents... That will make me more knowledgeable and be more prepared for the next world!'
Blare was sitting in the soft office chair for hours. Feeling tired, she placed the mechanical pencil down and clasp her hands together, then stretch her whole arm forward. She felt her back sore so she bent her upper body left and right to stretch.

After that, she stood up and headed in the canteen, her eyes glistening in anticipation. But frowned when she remembered how nonchalant she was in the first world.
Fang Chunhua is talented in crafts, but Blare never thought about it and did not put it in action. Thus, she was not able to learn her talent. The only valuable qualities that she gained from Fang Chunhua is her elegant demeanour and how to judge crafted items.
That is why Blare diligently took notes and studied by heart from her training. She realized how crucial it is to learn everything.
For months of training, she familiarized herself with the company, remembered all the names of the managers of different departments, her colleagues in the Design department and the important people in the company.
These months also helped her identify what Lilith wanted.
In the end, Blare concluded that the Marketing department is not what Lilith wants. Sure she studied it for four years but Blare felt that Lilith wanted something different.
So Blare chose the Design department. Since then, she felt contented. Surprisingly, Ace did not make any comment about her decision.
Lilith was talented at painting and that includes designing, as well as drafting structures.
"Lilith, why didn't you take architecture back in college?" her female co-worker, Trina asked. They were in the canteen getting their lunch.
"It was on a whim. I didn't really know what I wanted back then." Blare said as she walked towards their table.
"But it's amazing though, even though you didn't take the course, it's like you're used to it." her another co-worker, Gray spoke.
"Internet. I kind of learned from there." Blare said reluctantly. She was not lying, Lilith actually learned painting, drawing and designing through the internet. Most of her paintings are structures in different countries. She admired how the structures are built and designed in unique ways.
But Lilith never considered the course because her step-mother and step-brother always made her feel talentless. They always insulted her work like they were professional painters themselves.
The more Blare thought about it, the more Lilith's body was responding. Blare felt extreme insecurity in the body.
Mixing with the feeling of insecurity was sadness. Blare was feeling sad for Lilith's reluctance.
Two emotions seemed to complement each other, this caused her to feel very restless.
Their short lunch break ended and they quickly continued their work. Blare suppressed her emotions and turn all her attention to work. Currently, the Rosenthal Conglomerate is planning to build a new business in the fast-food industry. Blare was waiting for the report of the Marketing department so they can plan the design and structure of the restaurant.
Right now, their main job is to brainstorm to make a unique logo, name, structure of the restaurant and so on.
Her work ended when evening came. Blare walked in the parking garage where her car was parked. Before she can reach her car, a |×|Rolls-Royce Sweptail car blocked her way. Inside the car is Ace Jaeger LeCoultre.
Blare slightly bowed and greeted, "Good evening Sir"
The man just stared at her, directly in her eyes. Blare felt uncomfortable so she smiled awkwardly.
"Is there.. something wrong sir?" Blare asked. This time she was worried. She did not know if she failed to do her job that's why Ace was staring.
In truth, Ace was just admiring Lilith's appearance. The woman looked fierce but was actually docile when it comes to her job. Her crystal blue eyes were also captivating and Ace couldn't help but admire it.
"Nothing, I was just going to invite you out... to eat." Ace said, not leaving his gaze to the woman.
Blare sighed in relief in her mind. Blare had already forgiven him from his trickery on their first meeting. Also, this boss of hers is kind to his employees. But not to the point that he'll be buddies with everyone. Blare was also thankful that he let her proved her worth.
"Thank you, sir, but no thank you. I have other matters to do" she said apologetically.
Ace was baffled that a woman actually rejected his invite. Ace Jaeger LeCoultre is a hotty despite being a 30-year-old man. His sharp gaze and dark brown eyes are eye-catching. His strong jaw and seemingly soft lip received passionate gazes as well as envy. So who could refuse this hotty?
Apparently, it's Blare Hawkins. Plus Lilith Winterburn since Blare doesn't feel anything from her.
"A shame then... maybe a ride home?" Ace persisted. He really wanted to know her better.
"I have my own car" Blare smiled innocently.
Ace chuckled at the woman's reluctance. Blare, on the other hand, was slightly surprised to hear him laughing softly.
"It seems like I have amused you, Sir. I'll be going then" Blare ignored the man's reactions and just slightly bowed and left her amused boss.
Ace watched the woman walk away with a slight smile escaping his lips.
