At this point, Blare felt utterly confused. Nevertheless, she answered what she thinks was right.
"Yes, I'm sure."
Since Lilith died miserably, Blare can only conclude that Lilith will never love the man again. After all, Lilith is only a martyr to her family. While Aiken was a vessel to get the satisfaction of being loved.
Clara's heart was greatly relieved. She looked at Blare full of gratitude.
However, the problem was Aiken. Thinking of this, Clara can only hold tightly at the hems of her dress.
"If you love someone, you should fight for it... Goodbye, Ms. Clara."
Blare didn't wait for her reply as walked out of the bathroom. She did not want to prolong the conversation that centres around love.
Love for a special person is something that Blare never understood. The advice that she gave from Clara is a phrase that her best friend has told her.
She disagreed with that phrase as she believed that fighting for love does not apply in all circumstances.
'Why fight for love when the person you like wasn't yours in the first place?'
On the other hand, she told that to Clara because Aiken and Clara are a couple. It was her right to fight what was hers.
Even if Clara doesn't have Aiken's heart yet.
Tired from all the thinking, Blare wanted to freshen up her mind so she decided to head on the empty balcony.
Standing on the balcony, Blare gazed at the dark sky that glimmered with the help of a few stars.
Admiring the night sky accompanied by the slightly cold wind had a great effect on her mood. Slowly, her mind only focused on the tranquillity of the atmosphere.
Blare always like feeling the cold wind brush against her skin. It would make her tremble from time to time but the coldness was greatly satisfying for her.
It was like someone was waking her up whenever she feels conflicted. At the same time, it was gently comforting her.
"Lilith"
A manly voice called, making her meditation stop abruptly.
There was no need to turn around to know who the man is. He kept pestering her for months that it made Blare rolled her eyes in irritation.
However, she was not outside so she can't ignore him whenever she pleases. The image of a person in this world was still important for Lilith. Blare wouldn't want others to view the original owner as a haughty woman.
Stolen story; please report.
"Mr. Charleston" Blare greeted as she turned around.
The greeting held no fondness. Yet Aiken was feeling happy that Blare finally greeted her back.
Despite Blare's rejection of the man a while ago, Aiken still stood on his ground and continue to gain Lilith's affection.
"Can we talk?"
The man showed a grieving expression. But Lilith remained unaffected.
"Mr. Charleston, I am a mere designer on Rosenthal Conglomerate. If you wish to collaborate, it is best to talk to Sir Ace about this matter." Blare replied professionally.
"Excuse me, Mr. Charleston, I believed Sir Ace is already looking for me." She quickly added.
Blare bowed slightly and head out of the balcony. She did not give him a single glance after.
'Talk? In here? Heh.' she sneers inwardly.
The eyes and ears in the mansion were always watching. Especially when several high profile businessmen were in the picture. If news about her and Aiken's meeting and his visible pained face appear in tabloids, Lilith would be judged as a seductress.
'The seductress finally succeeds in gaining the heart of the young tycoon!' Blare sarcastically narrated the tabloids future title of the article.
Blare slightly tilted her chin and gave off a nonchalant look in front of her. Her elegant posture added with her rose gold dress that exposes her arms and back gave a seductive yet intimidating aura.
Lilith has nothing to be arrogant about. The onlookers were aware of that fact. But they can't seem to criticize her about it. After all, her aura suited her perfectly that no one wanted to ruin the sight of her elegance.
Of course, some felt the opposite.
Blare approached the boss that glanced briefly at her. He was still talking with the people who Blare associated with before she excused herself in the restroom.
"Ms. Lilith! I thought you were going to sleep in the restroom for the whole night!"
A beautiful woman joked as if they were friends for years. Ironically, this woman was indeed Lilith's supposed "friend"
The woman was purposely making her feel uncomfortable with her remarks. Blare was an impatient person but for the sake of saving face, she would just laugh in return.
"Ms. Helena, one would be afraid of an outsider that plans to stay at their home. I suppose you already knew that."
The woman - Helena - paled at her words.
"Oh! I suppose you wouldn't understand. You were the outsider after all!" Blare teased as she laughed playfully.
"H-Haha... Such jokes Ms. Lilith" Helena laughed a little.
In response to this, Blare only smiled.
Then, an older man laughed pleasantly. Seemingly delighted at Blare and Helena's interaction.
The older man - Jacob Lockey - was Helena's husband. He can only take Blare and Helena's words as jokes since the two were really known to be as close friends.
"I'm sure my Helena knows how it feels when a stranger suddenly wants to stay at our home." Jacob jokingly said as he wraps his arm at Helena's waist.
Blare chuckled and said, "Surely my dear friend knows Mr. Lockey."
"Well then, it seems like we've been taking both of your time too much. It was a pleasure meeting you Ms. Winterburn and Mr. LeCoultre"
Jacob shook Ace and Blare's hand. After that, he looked meaningfully at Ace and smiled. Both turned away and greeted other people.
Blare saw all of this. Naturally, Helena - who became silent - did not also escape her sight.
Now, Blare and Ace were left alone together on the corner.
"How are you?"
Blare heard Ace's calm question. Even if the man was calm, Blare felt very awkward. The question was like they haven't met for weeks or months.
"I'm fine, Sir" she responded.
Both met each other's eyes, but Blare was the first one to broke their gaze.
"Hm. You're still energetic then."
Hearing this, Blare turned her gaze back at the man who was now smiling evilly at her.
