After silencing Deais, I didn't really know what to do. But since the framework was online, I asked a question that I was wondering a bit about 'Why do beasts need five levels for one skill but get nothing else for an individual level?'
To show that progress is being made.
What kind of answer is that? Well its probably like that to get the beast addicted to leveling, getting told that you made progress a lot does that to people with mobile games. Cool, I guess.
Deais was still static ma- person, and I started thinking of what to do. You know what, lets try stuff with inspect.
my first skill, the one I haven't used for a while. Really gives me some nastolga from when I used it constantly for that oh so sweet exp, I haven't really had time to grind it with all my mana related skills. Back then I couldn't feel mana, and I still have no idea how it works.
So it was time for systematic research, and no I haven't forgotten about that magic circle from the dream, it'll just be annoying to make in this place. I told bob to send one of his possie, to stop it from attacking me and to follow the quest screens.
After half a minute a little dintyle walked in, I inspected quickly. Costing 50 mp

fast-boi 2.
That name, hilarious. I gave fast-boi 2 a quest to stay still to let me improve inspect for half a minute or I say the quest is over, I made the description as flattering as possible as a joke. It was about how talented it was and how I couldn't measure its talent and that I needed its help improving my inspect skill to be able to get even the roughest of estimates, then I gave it the quest by saying "Brave hero, please help me in an experiment for the future of all dintyle kind." in a dramatic an imploring tone, for my own entertainment of course.
There was a problem though, I didn't understand how inpect worked. I got a very rough estimation on how the mana moved, But I needed a bit more getting used to it to improve it. After a few uses I felt I could change it a bit, I tried to slow the mana to get a better look. It made a very small difference in speed, going against the instinct of a skill is very annoying. I didn't have this problem when I was working with arcane swordmanship and throwing, because it was teaching me to use it, not letting me use a skill.
The amount of effort I needed to make that tiny change was to large for me to continue that plan, I tried the classic 'more is good stratagem'. Meaning I poured more mana into the machine, and it had some positive results for a extra 50 mp.

I now saw rank and lvl, it was way worth an extra 50 mp. I had an idea, a very common idea. What if I use all of my mana in one inspect?
I waited a bit for my mana to recharge, and a full power inspect resulted in; a lot of pain with a side of 100 less hp, or 200 seconds of waiting. You might be wondering about what happened, after some research. I came up with a certain theory, that my body had something that transported mana and that it couldn't handle 400 mp in one burst.
If it couldn't handle the heat then I would force them to, human beings are incredibly adaptive. And I was betting the next few hours of my life on that, I was confident.

I then tried again with 200 mp, there was a small difference but not too large, sike.

Mp: ???%
Just knowing the percentage of hp is overpowered, the scheming made possible is very large. What about 300 mp? The answer is; pain and -50 hp, and the inspect worked too.

It would be worth it if my hp didn't get lost, But I tried once more. And nothing changed, but I have cultivated my patience over the years.
Sadly in the next 5 hours, I used the quest a few more time, I made no progress at all. Humans don't adapt in a mere day, though we adapt quickly. We take like a week or two maybe a month of (ab)use in a way for real changes, like with exercise. But to be honest I feel the mana's flowing better, but that may be because my senses that were dulled by the pain have gotten used to it.
I got back in touch with Deais, who wasn't filled with static power 'Good to see you're done, took you long enough.'
'Shut up!' it was very angry 'Why did you have to go and make my form so complicated!? Do you have any idea how much that hurt!? And there's also you making my form gigantic!' it was fuming, actually was it a he/she or it? Eh, who cares.
'Calm the fuck down first, then I'll talk with you.' I then cut of the channel, arrogantly of course. You need to make people know their place, a good way to do that is not deal with their emotions.
I sent fast-boi 2 back to bob, and went to tell Erebus the great news {I've got great news kid, I'm a sponsored.}
[That is great!] It said with joy [What's a sponsored though?]
I had completely forgot it didn't know a lot about this world {Think of it as having someone be your boss, but your boss is the subject of a religion. It gives a lot of oppertunities, not to mention my boss can't order me around.}
[That sounds very good.] Erebus told me.
{Yes of course it is, I even get half the profits from the venture.} I was braging to pass the time.
[What's a venture?] Erebus asked.
{I'll tell you later.} I again forgot that I have had it for less than a month, I felt ashamed of myself. For 2 seconds, then I stopped caring {All you need to is that it's great, and that you should be happy about. This is a great way to get even stronger, and I played that god into giving me half of all its divine power.}
[Yay.] It said [That is great, power is good.]
{Yes, you are correct. But power used without reason is mere fuel for idiocy.} I started to get into the dramatic lecture voice I used with Amel {Think of the motive as the direction your power flows, merely going for more power is not a good motive. Instead make your motive a certain way to gain power, like taking over an empire.}
[How do I do that?] It asked.
{I'm sort-of glad you asked, a revolt is one of the more common hostile takeovers. A hostile takeover is where you forcefully take over, think of it as killing your boss and taking the boss' place.} I said {I wouldn't recomend a revolt though, it's super annoying to set one up. And if you didn't know a revolt is where the people fight against the top and try to take over the nation, but its so easy to have it blow out of control, die out, it starting to early or straight up not have anything happen.} I knew this because I tried multiple times to start revolts in multiple contries over my time in Ithil, Ithil was the other fantasy world right?
[Are there otherways?] It asked curious of ways to gain political power.
{Yes, I would recomend a coup, what you do with that is taking a country with your own or your military group's power. There's blackmailing the ruler, with that you can rule from behind the curtains. Or you can gain the benifits of both by not revealing yourself in the coup and letting someone else take the seat while you have all the power.} I said from the heart {But if you don't need to take over a country, I say make your own.}
[Why?]
{Humans are illogical, some rightious kid would come after you because people say that your a bad person. So you need to make sure people don't hate you, a good way is to save them from starvation or some other problem. But remember never to premtively stop a problem unless everyone knows about it, otherwise you won't get any credit or reputation.}
[The problem with that?]
{It feels like shit, you'll understand when it happens.} Erebus looked at me with suspicion {Yea, yea. Sure don't believe me, you'll understand my pain one day.} I dropped one small snake tear (A fake tear), I would've made a real one but crying isn't my thing.
I then walked away, he does not understand the pain. I will make sure he understands one day, the feeling of having half a year of sleepless nights being treated as nothing. And the greatest feeling in the world, to kill all those unappreciative shits. Every novel says that revenge only leaves you devoid of purpose, but that doesn't need to be true. I'll be just as bad as them? That just means I'll become less of a bad person, why would I give up on that free social forgiveness?
I contacted Deais again 'Have you finally calmed down?' In an irritated tone.
'Yes, yes I have.' Deais said tired.
'Good, I don't feel like dealing with your baggage.' I said as though I was above it.
'I understand.' The god said defeated.
'Tell me how you get divine power.' I said as if ordering a lesser being.
'I get a unit if divine power every month, then my gain increases with how many believers there are and how devout they are. There are also immeadiate ways for me to get divine power, like live sacrifices or prayer.' Deais said full of bordom.
'Ok, how do I get the ability to do that?' I said as if curious of how slaves cook.
'You probably don't want to pray.' I nodded as if It was common sense 'You could get the skill 'Ocultism', it a low rank skill and pretty easy to get, its just that it takes a while to learn.'
'I have all the time in the world.' I said, I had a lot of free time.
'Then pick up Gaia's bible and research it, as if it was an occult book instead of a bible, you'll get it.' Deais said, believing that I wouldn't get it.
'Hmm, I guess I'll try.' I said as if was just a fleeting intrest in a thing of the rice farmers.
I then wondered what to do, I had like a day left to do stuff. My arcane skinning could get some more use I guess, it'll be something to do. And it was, I had felt not like using gimmicks. One kill after another, it felt great. Like those 'super satisfing' videos, the gratification was great. I killed, I skinned, and I repeated. I started to use my knife as melee weapon, I even got a skill. It was called dagger mastery, beginner of course.
