Chapter 25 - Piracy

Chapter 25 - Piracy

Max's POV

The two ships sailed alongside, magic and arrows were shot from both sides. Max found himself uselessly waiting for the pirate ship to close in on them, while the others were using their long range weapons to fight, most of the Dark flame team went to board the pirate ship instead but there was no news of them at the moment, they were probaby waiting for the best moment to act.

He could now see a black pirate flag, which had Jak, written in red on it, as if written in blood and a rose priecing the name. It was a misfortune for the Helllion guild that they weren't well informed about the twenty worst pirates of the Isleplains, as holding the 19th place was Jak.

It wasn't because he was so good at it, it was because when he was about to lose, he destroyed every ship in sight and then went down with the ship. Any pirate would parley with him just to avoid that outcome.

Max could see a rather stylish man on the pirate ship, he was probably the captain, in his hands he had a strange handgun, that could be considered a strange remake of the medieval musket.

Bang!

It shot a fire missile right at their sails.

fire missile was the weakest of the offensive fire spells but against the sails and wood of a boat it was quite effective.

The man took out his sword and swang as if dancing with his rapier and in a moment's notice, three men appeared behind him, Max could she this happening as the ship approached.

"Board the enemy ship!"

The man shouted and their ship set course to ram their ship. Max could only wait for the real battle to begin. Dublin was rather nervous and Ben was somewhat pale as well, the reason behind it was that the enemy weren't the normal NPC pirates, it was a player, meaning that the pirates were probably sea-trained and battle-hardened.

There was a large difference in fighting on board a ship and on land, pirates and those with the sailing professions gained a large bonus on fighting on board of ships or while swimming.

Boom!

Suddenly the pirate ship blew up, without a reason at all, but they knew that the Dark fire team had done them a great service, blowing up the enemy ship before it rammed them.

"Serves you right!"

shouted Dublin making the others laugh, he and Max were probably the only ones who did nothing this whole time.

Aaa!

A scream came from the other side of the ship where the anchor was, if they had given a glance to the sea a few moments before they could have seen hundreds of pirates swimming like fish in the water.

The dark fire players died in mere seconds as they were swimming in the sea for their lives but their swimming abilities and water combat skills were non existent, they would appear on the ship in ten minutes but until then they couldn't even communicate with the other players since they were in the middle of a battle.

When locked in battle messages were disabled.

"Everyone prepare for battle!"

Benjamin shouted, as he unsheethed his sword, a rather luxurious sword with a golden hilt decorated with jewels, it was a rather good, enchanced costume made weapon, made by their guild's best blacksmith.

"Those that give up are to be captured alive, it's been months since the last time I had someone to walk on the plunk"

Jak commanded, making the pirates look somewhat uneasy.

"Attack you numbskulls!"

He shouted as he saw that they weren't moving.

"Wait can't we talk about it?"

Dublin said, but no one gave him any notice, after all he was speaking rather silently in the midst of the battle that raged all around the ship.

Benjamin thrushed his longsword but to no avail, the rapier is much faster than a longsword and the damage Jak's rapier did was rather good even against a fully armored opponent like Ben.

"Armor-Piecing?"

Was the last thing that Ben asked as he fell down lifeless. It was true, Jak's rapier only had one enchancement and that was 79% defence penetration, it wasn't a 100% but it was enough to kill most opponents, especially those that depended on armors to survive longer. Of course it was a rather expensive sword made especially for Jak by a blacksmith. In the start it only had 15% armor piercing but after many enchancements, 2% each, it took up it's current appearance.

Of course the armor piercing doesn't apply to all skills but those that have contact with the enemy have all gained the armor piercing bonus. That was one of the reasons why no one messed with Jak.

One by one the elites of the Helllion guild fell to Jak's sword, the other pirates were also doing a good work at supporting, they mostly blocked the elites from ganging up on Jak and sometimes attacked the ones who were fighting with Jak.

Dublin was already on the floor surrendered to his fate, after all he was no warrior, he wasn't even a mage now, he was simply a very good thief, two times archon thief and this would be his third but right now he was just a beginner thief with two OP Archon skills.

Max wanted to have a go at Jak but he was being toyed with by a pirate, the pirate was probably only an Npc but he was rather strong and experienced.

'how on earth did he train these guys'

Was on everyone's mind as they fought these Npc pirates, they were simply strange, they had tons of health and only defended, they didn't attack at all. They were like an obstacle that they couldn't overcome even if they tried real hard, truth was that the pirated weren't exactly trained, they were misthreated by Jak and with time just got accustomed to his weird ways, after all he was sort of a legend among pirates.

"Give up and I'll make sure to keep you alive!"

Jak shouted as he killed the last of their elite leaders, all three of the elite leaders were dead and the others that could resist had also died, only some supports and craftsmen were left and a few merchants who hitched a ride with the famous Helllion guild.

"Captain, all but a young man have given up arms"

A black bearded pirate said, he looked rather battered and had a few wounds but was as healthy as an ox.

Jack approached the Galley where they watched Max fighting with one of the pirates.

"What is this, you could have killed him a hundred times!"

Jack shouted from the galley.

"Captain, we are not fighting to win, we are betting on how many hits it will take for him to give up"

Jak came forth from the galley brandishing his sword.

"Might I play as well, My bet is one hit!"

The pirates only gulped as they opened way for their captain. One swift hit was all it took and the young man's weapon fell from his hands, his condition changed to paralized and he couldn't even move.

Jak approached him and whispered to his ear.

"Give up and I won't cut your dick into really thin slices"

Max couldn't even gulp before the paralysis wore off.

It was a whole 20seconds paralysis, it was enough to kill him and his weapon was nowhere to be seen.

"I give up"

He said half-hearted, he really wanted to continue but the idea of having his thing sliced was rather terrifying.

"Noo!"

"Boo!"

"Called! cheating!"

The disatisfied voices of the other pirates made him somewhat surprised, after all he knew nothing of their bets and very few had bet on the captain's success after all they had been fighing with him for some time now.

"Boy I like your guts, do you want to be a pirate?"

Jak's question made him somewhat lost in thought after all he was a member of a prestigious guild, if he became a pirate people will begin to say that the Helllion guild had went even more astray, on the other side no real damage was done to the guild's reputation.

"Yes"

He said, he saw the smiling faces of the other pirates who welcomed him onboard.

Simon's POV

Simon was enjoying life on the rooftop for days now and suddenly he saw a letter in Emy/Green's hands.

Her face was somewhat troubled as she read the message sent to her, it was rather intriguing as to who would send a written letter but Simon didn't give it much thought after all she was a Diva or so she said herself.

"Simon could you return Purple to normal, I have a mission for her"

Green said, she really didn't want to move from her spot, although she had also been here for a while but it had become really good with so many people other than her, she enjoyed it too much. The hypnotized girls weren't really mindless, they just had to obey every one of Simon's commands, but Green had come to like their company.

Although all of them cursed someone called Zephir with one voice, which seemed to make Simon happy, but they were rather jolly girls non the less.

"Simon, I just got a request, I owe him one so I have to help him but going myself it too tiring"

Green explained.

"Is it really so bothersome?"

Simon asked rather surprised, after all Divas could teleport where ever they wanted, after all they had 100% clearance.

"Can you tell me about it?"

Simon asked somewhat interested, after all what could be so hard for someone like her.

"Simon, it's just boring, someone asked me if I could find information about some girl called Galie or Galaxia or Lidie, among millions of people do you think it's easy to track one girl"

Green said somewhat angry after all she was a genious hacker but even for her looking up one by one the numerous people to see which one was the target was time consuming.

"If it's Galaxia of the twin stars, better send him a letter that you want out of it, nothing good will come from assotiating with them"

Simon said rather bored, he thought that it was something hard but it was just something bothersome and highly dangerous.

"Do you know them?"

Green asked somewhat surprised, after all she herself had too little info on them available, taken from the guardians information network.

"Galaxia Darknym has behind her someone who could be even stronger than the Empress herself, if your friend wants to suffer or die he can continue investigating them but if he harms them, better stay away from your friend, I'm telling this for your own well being"

Simon said and then remained silent, he didn't even answer any of her other questions, after all she didn't believe him or wanted more information about the mysterious power behind them.

After seeing that Simon wouldn't talk farther about the matter, she simply sent a reply and went to the pool to play with the other girls. After all she didn't care if it was true or false but if it was true she had to warn her "friend" about the possiblility of it being really dangerous.

Galie's POV

Lidie after loging out of the virtual world went to eat, took a bath and went to sleep in a soft bed for a change.

Galie however was somewhat concerned, after all Kitty had also logged out with them.

'Who is kitty?'

was her first question and if she needed some help was her second question. After all they were rather friendly inside the game. Galie didn't know what many of those rooms in their home contained but she wanted to find out if Red was alright outside the game, after all they would be living there for a year without Darknym coming back.

She rushed through the dark corridors, the little light from the strange crystals embeded to the glass walls made her think about Allastar. Most rooms were empty some had plants growing in them others had strange machines but they were all symetrically build. Even her and her father's rooms were located one next to another, it was a rather simple design.

They lived on the second floor, there were five large rooms on the first floor and three on the third floor, there was probably another floor on the fourth or even fifth but her powers were not able to see what was there, although she had went there when she was younger.

The only room that had a living person in it was the room next to her father's but it was locked. She didn't know how to enter, but she could teleport if she wanted to. Of course it didn't go so well, her father had put many barriers in the door to that room and even the walls had some sort of resistance to psychic powers.

It was funny how he had barriered the doors and walls but did he also barrier the roof or floor. Galaxia went downstairs and tried to the best of her abilities to find the exact space under the room. It was easy to locate it but there too were some barriers placed to lock her outside once more.

she really wanted to know the secret of that room, why lock her from that room, she knew exactly what was inside the other locked rooms but this one was the only room that was a mystery to her, when she was small she had seen most of the rooms and some later in her life but this room she had never been before.

The two upper floors were the pilot room and the psychic reception room, which were rather plain and had nothing but machines inside.

-Lidie could you help me break in into my father's room, I want to see what's inside-

Galie sent this message to Lidie through telepathy, the reason behind it was because Lidie had a rather strange ability, Galie couldn't replicate it even though she had tried a few times.

You should know that psychic abilities have three ranks, the first is mental which are the weakest of all, they have to do with brain fuction, memory and perception.

The second was psychic abilities that worked with the soul of the person, it contained most of what was called psychic abilities.

The third and most difficult was space and time manipulating abilities, even Galaxia only had a basic knowledge of it, teleportation was this sort of ability, the problem was that Lidie's and Galie's teleportation was rather different.

Normal teleportation would sent the soul to a space and then teleport the body safely but Lidie's teleportation opened a portal akin to a wormhole that sent both instantly to the other side.

There was of course no answer from Lidie after all she couldn't use telepathy to send messages. Galie teleported back to her room and begun shaking Lidie.

"Lidie could you help me with something!"

She shouted as she was shaking her violently.

"Can't...we talk...about this?"

Lidie said as she was still half asleep.

"No time, Kitty needs us"

Galie said teleporting them outside directly.

"Galie you know that my portal is only that big, there's no way you can fit in"

Lidie said, her portal was only so big after all, although she herself has used it to teleport inside the virtual world, in reality she couldn't use it that way, it was only as big as a basketball.

"Don't mind, I will shrink myself for a duration of time to pass through"

Galie said as she begun in front of her eyes shrinking, strange colourful lights were dancing all over her body as she was shrinking at a rather slow pace.

"Is this even possible!"

shouted Lidie in surprise, after all becoming smaller or bigger was okay in the virtual world but if someone said that they could do that in the real world anyone would call them crazy.

"Open the portal!"

Shouted a small doll-like Galie.

Lidie was stuned for a while after all she could only think of this as a hallucination. the little hits from the little Galie didn't hurt at all but when the telekinetic punch came, Lidie sure came back to her senses.

"Sorry I'm still somewhat sleepy"

She said to her defense and opened a portal to wherever the other side of the wall was, in truth she was uncertain if she would end bumping on something or thrown back through the portal, after all it wasn't a one way thing like the one in Allastar.

Galaxia didn't even wait she hastely jumped into the portal, after all she had limited time, her body would become bigger in just a few seconds, the same had happened to the knife she had enlargened in Allastar, the reason for that was that she wasn't strong enough to keep the condition pernament, after all she wasn't as talented as people might think, if Simon for instance was given the same privileges as she he could have become multiple times stronger than her.

Galaxia was now in a rather dark room, there was no ligh other than the small portal from which she came from, she begun growing to her normal size and in a matter of seconds the light from the portal became almost non existent. Pyrokinesis was nice to have in times like these.

Around her were multiple strange yellow crystals, she couldn't tell what they were, but they looked akin to amber stones, the room wasn't very big but the rows of crystals made it look big, there was a locked door, which probably went to her father's bedroom, and a hall going somewhere else.

There were four cages at each side of the hall, she could see a woman sleeping in one of the cages.

'She must be Red'

She thought but she was more interested in what lay at the end of the corridor.

There was a pedestral and a few yellow crystals like those she had seen before. Inside them she could see figures of women, some of whom she was familiar with, others she didn't know but one made her heart ache. It was a stone which held the figure of her mother, it was rather strange as she couldn't understand what the stones were, they looked akin to amber but these stones were well shaped akin to glass crystals while the ones before were rather crude and unrefined.

"What is this place?"

She asked herself but no answer came, there were two doors with a floating psychic core in each, she didn't know every one of the crystal's functions but these two were probably teleportation crystals.

Galaxia didn't want to touch the crystals, although she was really surprised by this strange collection of stones but it was after all just crystals with the form of all her father's former partners, as all of them who she knew from the collection were all dead.

Galaxia went to Red's cage and begun trying to open the cage, to her surprise it was quite easy. It didn't even need her to use considerable power, just a single clink in the lock and it was open, just think of it as picklocking with psychic powers.

"Red, Red, lets go it's too filthy in here!"

Galaxia shouted as she shook the startled Red, in truth she wasn't sure that she was the one who operated Kitty inside the game, but there was no one else in the whole crystaline pyramid.

"How did you come, here?"

Red asked as she violently slapped Galaxia to come to her senses, after all she was half asleep and Galaxia did act somewhat childish.

"Don't you dare!"

Shouted Red as a counter-slap was coming for her, it was rather funny as at the moment she felt somewhat happy about it. They were going at it happily for a few minutes before Red's stamina was up, and she urged Galie to stop.

"Right, we must get out of here first"

Galaxia said, she didn't care about her being her father's toy, after all he would be absent for a whole year.

She dragged Red by the hand and begun going to where the hole should be, After finding the small light, which was the portal she made Red shrink and threw her through the portal and afterwards she herself went through it.

Behind their backs a strange white mask hunged on the wall was shaking for a little while and then once more stopped, although there was no earthquake or anything to explain this phenomenon.

"Lidie, We made It!"

The little Galie shouted while taking Red's hands and hopping like an idiot, she had probably seen someone else doing it before, otherwise it was impossible to come up with something so stupid.

"Are you Red?"

Asked Lidie as she saw them suddenly grow to their original sizes.

"So you two are the blue heads from the game?"

Red said somewhat suspisiously, after all they looked exactly the same, except for their height, even their voice was the same. Something like that was difficult to explain by normal means, but after seeing Darknym's powers it wouldn't be a problem thinking of them as clones or something.

"So why did you free me from the cage again?"

Red asked, seeing that they didn't answer, truth was that Galie had just went through her memories and Lidie didn't even know what to answer, after all she wasn't as high and mighty in real life as she was inside the game, the same could be said about Red as well, inside the virtual world with 100% clearance she was akin to a god, but here she could at most make a handfull sized explosion.

"Lets have a party!"

Galie said, she had no Idea what a party was but to her it sounded something exciting, she saw a welcoming party in Red's memories and wanted to have one.

"Galie, why not do it in the virtual world, your house hasn't got what is needed to throw a party"

Lidie said, after all she was the logistics manager of the group, she knew exactly how much they would need of everything to make ends meet, she even supplied for emergencied, each time before going out on quests.

"Lidie, you really think that our house is as small as only my room?"

Galie said, in truth Lidie had spent most of her time sleeping in her room but the strange pyramid had lots of rooms, even Galie herself hadn't explored the few new ones that were just created by her father, although most of them were just expansions of the greenhouse and production factory, but there were also a few rooms that were empty before and were now almost full.

"Galie, do you even have music?"

Lidie asked, Red could only stay silent, she didn't understand what was going on but there was going to be a party so she didn't care, after all she was sort of a prisoner and somewhat hungry at the moment.

"Of course we have music"

Galie pouted, teleporting them inside a strange room that could be called a concert hall or music hall, there were hundreds of seats and behind the stage there were tons of instruments.

"And what exactly are we supposed to do with these?"

Lidie asked mockingly, withought waiting for an answer.

"Galie, was it"

Red begun talking suddenly and to her answer Galie noded affirmatively.

"Do you have a CD player or some other advanced sound reproduction device?"

Red asked and they saw Galies eyes light in excitement, which probably meant "yes" because she just teleported them away.

The new room was rather strange, they didn't understand what exactly to expect from here.

There were tons of orbs embeded into shelves, they could even see that the orbs were rather strange but the most strange thing was that the room was towering and going further up, they couldn't understand how someone could reach the topmost orb or was it needless, to go up there.

"What exactly is this room?"

Lidie asked rather surprised, after all they could easily tell what the last room was, a concert hall or something.

"This is the music archive, father collected lots of songs from foreign worlds and stored them in these orbs, if you apply a little psychic power they will begin playing some music"

Galie said as she activated one of the orbs.

The strange allien music played through the strange circular room, the sound ensnared them to not move, to not lose focus, to not think and to keep hearing it.

That was the power of this rather strange song, even Galaxia herself had now fallen in a strange stupor state, not understanding what was going around her.

The strange melody was alluring, it made them listen to it untill all three fell asleep.
