Chapter Thirty Seven

Chapter Thirty Seven

Aria sat in the fluffy pink chair of her fighter jet. She had been flying for only a few minutes and not much had happened in that time. But she was still very angry.

The civilians haven't been evacuated.

And she had been told to bomb this city. Aria would have to commit a massacre. In the name of war. It was just like the nukeing of East Aurora that had happened just a few weeks prior.

The government was destroying its cities and massacring its people. All in the name of winning this pointless and sudden war.

And you know what rerally made aria mad? The fact that she couldn't think of any other way to win. The trolls seemed to be able to spawn in through portals from anywhere in the world. They could appear in the middle of their military bases. Within their cities. In their beds.

It didn't matter where you were. A troll could be there in an instant. Not only that. But even though they didn't have any apparent form of a cohesive chain of command. But they still managed to organize into powerful and adaptable battalions of troops, and at this point, most of them had learned how to use human weapons. Some groups had even stolen enough ammunition to be able to use the stolen guns consistently. Their shielding made most weapons like tanks or armoured trucks almost obsolete. They were like walking fortresses.

The only weapons of war that had managed to combat the trolls were fighter jets: the warriors and nukes. And the fighter jets had been mostly occupied fighting the dragon menace in the air. And after East Aruora, if the Government used nukes again, then they might have another war on their hands from the other outside governments attacking them. After all, someone willing to use nukes is not a threat that you want to let live.

All of it infuriated Aria. The world was mired in chaos and destruction of gross proportions

And it wasn't going to stop anytime soon.

BEEP BEEP BEEP

The beeping meant that she was in what the three-dimensional gps considered to be the optimal position to drop the bombs.

"Haaaaaa." With a sigh, Aria reached forward.

She pressed a button on the plane's control panel.

Canisters of fire began to fall.

At least bombing runs are easy. Aria said to herself.

...…..

"Open your eyes. And see a reality built from data and your mind's lies."

Nathanial had read that in a book once. When he initially read it, he had thought it meant something about how today's world was completely controlled by data and our ideas were dictated by beliefs that we didn't form ourselves.

Now he knew the truth.

It didn't say a thing about the modern day at all. It meant that all you see is the data and how your mind interprets it.

Or, to put it more simply. What it meant was. Open your eyes. And SEE.

But right now, I see nothing

Nathanial looked around himself. He was surrounded by darkness. If not for the weight of his darkness pressing onto him, he would have thought he was blind. But it had weight. So it must have been real.

I need to get out

Nathanial began to sift through the ash above him. He slowly pushed it to the side like he was swimming at the slowest speed known to man.

First, he felt the sensation of warm air on his fingers. Next, he felt that warm air caressing his mouth but not his lungs. Then, his head broke the surface.

Just…. Breath.

But he didn't breathe. Because he didn't need to.

And like that. Nathanial rose from the ashes.

{Race: Ultra zombie.}

John looked at the screen before him.

"Well….. Isn't this interesting?"

....

John watched the horizon as he pet his small dragon. The horizon was golden and marred by smoke. Smoke that John assumed came from the bombing. Despite this, John still found the horizon beautiful.

It looked like something you would see in the outro of a sitcom.

I wonder. Do they have sitcoms in the Warriors compound?

John resolved to ask around when he got back. Sitcoms were a beauty, and he would love to show them to his little dragons.

How am I even going to get back?

The bus had been driving for a few hours before arriving here. And they had been flooring it. It wasn't like it would be a short walk back to the compound. And last he checked, no one was coming to pick him up.

On top of that, John didn't even know the way back to the compound.

It was a relatively covert military base. It's not like it would be on any maps. So there was no way of finding out how to get back.

Shit. I might be screwed.

SHWOOOOOOO!

John's head turned in the direction of the sound. Flying towards John was a sleek black Jet.

SHIT!

John jumped to the side just before the jet flew by him.

The dragons jumped off John's body as he fell to the ground.

For a few moments, John simply looked up at the cloudy sky while breathing heavily.

Seriously. Is she trying to run me over?

"Hey. Are you okay?"

John looked up. There was Aria. She was standing a good ten feet away from John and had a guilty frown on her face.

"Well, you ALMOST FUCKING KILLED ME! But other than that, I'm fine."

"Heh." Aria chuckled.

"It's your fault for getting in the way," She said,

John simply rolled his eyes.

"Sure. Sure."

"Anyway… Do you have any way to return to the warrior's compound? I know it's pretty far away. You don't look like one of those more speedy warriors to me." Said Aria.

John shook his head.

"No."

Aria smiled.

"Well, then I can take you. If you want me to,"

John smiled.

"Sure. That would be great."

HE WOULD GET TO RIDE IN A PLANE SMUSHED UP AGAINST A HOT GIRL!
