Chapter 5: Night is coming
Xhemile closed the friends list again and suddenly got a system message.
{[Lords and Ladies, the first night is approaching. During the nighttime from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am many dangerous monsters will come out of their lairs to hunt. Troops outside the barrier will be their prey so it's better to call them back, or are you testing how dangerous night is?]}
{[Monsters during nights are 100% more aggressive and their stats increase by 100%]}
Xhemile’s face color drained and she looked frantic at her clock provided by the system.
[9:00 pm]
She looked for her subordinates and informed them about the time, as well as ordering them to stay, now till night was over inside the barrier. She then asked Nanu.
“Nanu, do you know how to make weapons? We will need some so everybody is armed and can kill monsters.”
“My Lady, worry not we can make some basic spears made from the wood and the bones of the desert dog.”: she replied. She then called Nour and Nane over and together they started to craft some basic spears. During the time they crafted, she looked at the messages of the lord's platform.
[Messages]
“What do you mean stronger monsters?! I can barely kill something outside!”
“FINALLY, A WORTHY CHALLENGE!!”
“Dude above is crazy. Your troops will be slaughtered by the wildlife:”
“I have strong orcs; they can easily finish wolves even if boosted.”
“Yeah, but they will be then slaughtered by bigger animals, like a wyvern.”
“Don't jinx it!!!”
After finishing their spears Xhemile looked at the information of these spears.

Xhemile exhaled, her unknowingly held breath, relieved. Her subjects now had weapons, crude weapons but still weapons nonetheless. She now felt safer for the coming night. She looked for the sun and saw her halfway covered by the sand on the horizon, after ten more minutes the sun completely disappeared behind the horizon.

She looked again at the lord's platform.
[Messages]
“He jinxed it!!! Now there are giant flying lizards over my dome trying to eat me! They first ate my troops, then charged straight at me! I'm going to hide under my bed!!!”
“Crap!!! There are hordes of Goblins in front my barriers! I'm just a lonely girl and my troops are too low leveled to fight them!!! When they saw me, they all looked creepy at me!! I'm now hiding inside my castle!! Please send help!!”
“I'm female too and there are savage orcs in front of my barriers! They all look really creepy at me and especially my female subjects, they are all afraid and hide now in my castle! My troops are all strong elves!”
“Shits gone really bad for me. Goddamn monsters instantly killed my undead warriors!”
Her browsing through messages was interrupted as a massive howl echoed over the dunes accompanied by hundreds of smaller howls. Her subjects instantly jumped up and formed a protective formation around Xhemile. When she looked out behind Nane’s back at the barrier of her castle, she saw hundreds of eyes looking at her from the dark. She started to shiver on her entire body, now she wanted nothing more than to hide and wait till morning. It would not be her only concern as her three protectors suddenly tensed up as hundreds of desert dogs charged at the barrier surrounding them. She still focused on a set of eyes farther away just observing her, when her system showed her the information, her entire being froze of terror.

She tried calming herself. They can't attack me if I and my subjects stay behind the barrier. She felt a big hand carefully patting her back, looking up to the worried eyes of Nane. She flashed her a small smile and steadied herself. She then walked carefully closer to the barrier, observing the frenzied dogs.

She chooses the weaker dog and thrusted her spear towards it, steadier and more accurate than before. A sickening crunch echoed as it entered the dog's chest, quickly twisting it and dragging the corpse inside. She tried to attack the next dog but it quickly dodged and tried to bite the wooden shaft of her spear to drag her outside the barrier. Fortunately, Nane was directly behind her to catch her from falling towards the dogs.
“Why is this one suddenly intelligent?”: she asked Nane, while trying to calm herself.
“My Lady, the alpha of this pack is more intelligent and orders these dogs to do specific things as the normal dog is too dumb to grasp basic tactics. To prevent this from happening again we should use feints or change our location as the alpha can only order the dogs in a certain area around it to do complex things like trying to drag someone with a spear outside.”: she answered.
“Alright let's do this and kill as many dogs as we can trying to stay outside the alphas area of control for his dogs.”: she decided determined.
“Alright, you heard her girls, let's grab your spears and fight.”: Nane cheered towards the other two. Nanu and Nour nodded towards Nane and then ran off in different directions. After a certain time, the alpha moved to get to the other dogs to control them. Xhemile felt the system messages piling up as well as the corpse piles next to her subjects. I can't just let them do all the work I need to do it as well, to be a suitable queen. She thought to herself and then walked confidently towards the other raging dogs. She started to thrust her spear towards the desert dogs killing them and then dragging them inside the barrier with the spears longer reach. She would do this for tens of minutes and would stop if the alpha came to close to her position. So, all her subordinates as well as she herself would fall into a rhythm, kill dogs during the times the alpha went towards the others position. They did this until they were exhausted, then rested and drank bug water and then continued until the dogs retreated when the first rays of the sun shone over the horizon.
