Chapter 19: Nightly fighting and morning looting
{[Lords and Ladies, the fourth night is there. Please try to survive!]}
On time with the sun disappearing from the horizon, thousands of howls echoed through the desert. Soon the ground started to tremble and thousands of desert dogs started to rush towards Karomama castle. They all impacted the protection barrier and started trying to destroy it. The alpha also was there again, showing its teeth with an eerie smile. Xhemile’s shuddered, she knew the alpha was up to something.
“Guys, you know the plan! Engage the enemy and protect our ladyship!”: Marwa suddenly shouted. All her subjects answered with a loud: “Yes!”
Her subjects dispersed and positioned themselves around the barrier in the same distances as the others so they formed a perfect circle, parallel with the barrier. Xhemile also took in her position. After some time observing the alpha, she noticed the familiar system notifications of her subjects killing the enemies. Xhemile smiled and also started to kill the desert dogs. Due to the alpha being too close to her, she needed to resort again to feints. She also noticed for the first time that the alpha was stronger than the previous nights.
[Desert Alpha dog
Rank 2
Level 8]
It now had a further reach of control towards the other dogs, but apparently didn't get any smarter as it still failed to grasp her feints. It soon grew frustrated and walked towards one of her subject's areas. The area it walked to was Kira’s area, but she spotted the alpha early and started also to use feints. Xhemile used the absence of the alpha to slaughter without hesitation. She thrusted and swinged the spear towards these dogs' chests or heads. After some time, she noticed that the alpha tried to use a new tactic against one of her subjects. It walked into attacking range of her subject and as soon as she thrusted her weapon it swiftly bit into it and started to drag her outside. Unfortunately, it chose the wrong opponent, as Marwa was rank 3 and stronger than a rank 2 alpha desert dog. Marwa smiled at the alpha, which in turn felt it had made a big mistake. It's bad feeling justified itself a few moments later as a javelin pierced its shoulder, wounding it badly. The alpha immediately retreated outside the range of the javelins. It howled in pain and anger, looking with hate filled eyes at Marwa, as if its glare could kill people. But she only shrugged and started to kill more dogs while provokingly looking at the alpha. The alpha must have felt humiliated as it turned around and retreated into the darkness of the night. Meanwhile the other dogs still crazily tried to breach the barrier. Xhemile looked at Marwa and admired her for a moment, she then turned her attention towards the dogs. The rest of the night she immersed herself in different types of attack against mindless desert dogs. She used different thrust angles to find the best combination of attacks, she also used different types of swing attacks with her spear which worked very well in combination with her thrust attacks. Soon Xhemile felt herself fall into a fighting trance where she tried to invent and develop her own style of fighting. During this trance she almost didn't notice the arrival of the morning and only snapped out of it, when the desert dogs retreated. She wiped her sweat from her forehead, but also noticed that her new armor was completely drenched in her sweat. She walked now feeling her exhaustion after her trance completely overwhelm her and Nane attentive as she is, helped Xhemile inside the castle onto her bed where she completely passed out.

After a solid four-hour sleep, Xhemile woke up again feeling a little sore but also refreshed. What she also noticed that she smelled of sweat and quickly washed herself inside the bathhouse. There were also other subjects relaxing inside the warm water. Xhemile also noticed the admiring looks of her subjects, but she felt they didn't admire her for her combat prowess, but for her body, as they often looked towards her chest and hip area. Relaxing inside the water, Xhemile opened the notifications of the system.

This night she didn't have much luck with blueprints, but she also noticed that Marwa didn't level, apparently a Rank 3 person needs large amount of experience to level up when killing low leveled enemies. She also upgraded her subjects which reached level ten to rank 1. She also noticed that a dog dropped an egg, she didn't know how a dog can drop an egg, but she blamed magic for it.
[Do you want to appraise this blueprint?]
She nodded and the system did its work.
[1 common blueprint: Tailor workshop Rank 0
Used to process raw materials to linen, cloth, silk and other materials. Gives workers access to better equipment for processing therefore increasing efficiency.
Cost:
100 units of mudbricks.
50 units of wood.]
She then shifted her concentration toward the egg.
[Do you want to appraise unknown egg?] [Yes/No]
She willed a mental yes.
[Appraisal failed. Please try again when egg is hatched!]
“Oh really? How am I supposed to hatch it if I don't know what it is?”: Xhemile muttered displeased.
[Displaying brooding condition:
Let egg rest for 24 hours in an environment which is damp as well warm.]
Huh, I place it inside the castle bathroom. There it should be damp and warm.
After doing so she set herself a mental reminder to look after 24 hours passed.
