Chapter 13: Third night is there
By the time evening came, Xhemile was completely exhausted due to Njoud’s hellish training. She laid on her back right, completely ignoring the sand in which she laid. Njoud was really a stern teacher.
“My lady, it is time that you rest. Night is almost there.”
As if to Njoud’s words the system responded.
{[Third Night is almost there, only a few more minutes. Ladies and lords, please try to survive this night.]
[A blood moon rises.]
[All stats of monsters get multiplied by 3. Good luck lords and ladies!]}
Xhemile sighed. She opened the lords message platform again.
[Messages]
“What? Bloodmoon? Shit! I need to call my subjects back!”
“System! Why is there such a bug?!”
“Guys did you read the event info? Three times stronger monsters!”
“Holy moly! I will hide!”
“God damn it! I finally wanted to try and take advantage of this night!”
Xhemile closed it again, and deleted friend requests blatantly demanding protection from her. She looked over to the sun which was now halfway covered by the horizon. When the sun finally was completely covered by the dunes of sand at the horizon the moon on the other side ascended. Contrary to the previous nights the moon doesn't look cool white anymore, it now looked bloodred and had a bloody mist around it. When the moon was fully ascended, Xhemile could hear the howls of the desert dogs, as well as feel the ground tremble by the sheer mass of dogs rushing to her castle. Soon enough the alpha was again the first dog she saw. It showed its teeth and looked almost as if it would smile. Shortly after it howled into the sky and hundreds if not thousands of other dogs answered. The ground shook and masses of dogs started to charge at her castle only to be stopped, as they met the protection barrier. Some dogs outright died by the sheer mass of desert dogs crashing against it, squished to death by pressure. Xhemile tried not to look to taken aback and calmly ordered her subjects.
“Everyone! Spread out and use the same tactic as last time!”
“Yes, my lady.”: her subject's roared.
Soon enough they all found their positions.
“Is everyone in position?”: Xhemile looked around her subjects which all nodded readily.

“Fight these dogs and protect the castle!”: she roared.
“Protect her ladyship and our homelands!”: her subjects screamed and jumped into the fight. She then felt a system notification and looked at it.

Convenient. Xhemile was positively surprised, but she didn't understand her subjects dramatic war cry. The barrier would protect them from anything which was trying to enter her territory. She shrugged and took her position, but the alpha was acting weird this night. It sat the entire time in the area, so it can influence the dogs which were trying to attack her, he didn't move away like in the previous nights. It didn't care that her subjects were slaughtering the other dogs and only stared at her. Xhemile thought it was a good opportunity to test the fruits of her training. She took her spear and feinted her thrust, the dog jumped, trying to catch the shaft and pull her outside. It didn't even have time to react when she thrusted the spear this time for real during its jump. A wet squelching sound accompanied with a high pitch whimper was heard. The desert dog fell dead to the ground and the alpha growled in annoyance. Xhemile smiled at it. She then proceeded to use another feint attack on the second dog, after that she feint attacked again. Sure, enough the dog didn't jump by the first feint attack but by the second feint attack, trying to bite the shaft. Xhemile’s smile grew wider as she figured out that the alpha wasn't as stupid as it gave itself away. She attacked other dogs with multiple combos of feint attacks and lethal attacks. The alpha always tried to guess her feint attack, thinking she would reuse the same combo sometime. But even then, it wasn't smart enough to remember all her attack combos. Soon she became accustomed to the new way of fighting against the alpha controlled desert dogs. Her changed body was more powerful and had much more stamina than her previous body. The alpha also tried new tactics to lure her out or bait her in exiting the barrier. She must give those damn desert dogs credit, those beasts were indeed very cunning and viscous. Luckily her wit and gut feelings warned her from the bait the alpha laid out. The moment she neared the barrier, just to see the reactions of the alpha, its entire body tensed and it smiled with its teeth anticipating her exit. Xhemile noticed this and feinted her step forward and as she thought the alpha took the bait and jumped at the position where she would be if she didn't feint it. When it jumped, she flinched, but she also used this time window. When the alpha landed on the spot, she used the little time window, where it just stood there confused and thrust her spear towards its side. The spear pierced its side and wounded its side of its hind body. The alpha howled in agony and jumped outside her reach. Luckily, she could rip her spear out of its body or she would have lost her weapon. The alpha stood a few meters away glaring at her with hate filled eyes. It then turned and retreated, letting the other desert dogs attacking the barrier without its control. Xhemile proudly discovered that the arrogant alpha was now limping a bit on its hindlegs, her spear must have pierced some muscles responsible for the movement of the leg. She also noted that her spear didn't pierce that far into the alphas flesh, only half the tip pierced through. She made herself a mental note to upgrade her spear for more pierce damage to counter the alphas tough hide. She rested a bit and then started to slay the other dogs which the alpha left behind. Soon the sun started to rise from the horizon again. She then remembered that these dogs had their stats tripled during this night, this included the alpha. She looked down at her arms and body with more appreciation as she just injured a three times as strong alpha.
The newly crafted bows were completely ignored.
