Positions and Deals

So we got really overpowered. As a BOSS’ BOSS, my new Title, I had a Buff that would increase any Unit of mine by a specific amount. It depended on the amount of BOSSes I controlled. Crazy.

I separated the nearly 600 Units into different forces. The base, or Capital City, now housed over 100 Humans. The walls were guarded by Units of at least Level 2. Speaking of this, I had the other Level 2s that stayed behind to guard the Castle kill off the really bad guys like the Butcher or Carlos. I ended up turning the other members of Reese’s crew and some Skeletons into Mid BOSSes. I now had almost 20 Mid BOSSes!

Yeah, if I wasn’t over powered, I don’t even know what to call it.

But they turned into stronger versions of what they were before. All sorts of stuff. I just let them work for whoever wants them. I decided to send people in groups of two to go settle different areas. For example, I sent Reese and Brandon down town to scout around and make a place for survivors to gather.

I sent Damian and Renzo to the Cliffcut Mall that was down the road. There is a lot of places over there and I want to have some places built for people. Chris and Kuvali left for Blue Creek which has a lot of neighborhoods in that area. However, there’s also an Aerospace Company near there. Shockreed, if I remember correctly.

Each group left with 100 Units and several Builders. I had the others like Sammy, Chance, and David continue their patrols. Spot will remain the leader of the Capital here at Camp Drive. There won’t really be any need for them at the Castle since pretty much 9 Mid BOSSes were guarding the place!

I had Scratch and Ribcage set up a Messenger’s Union. Using the Undead Beasts, we could sent information at a constant pace and won’t have to worry about paying any of them!

Although Scratch just lays at the Castle, making the place be guarded by 10 Level 3s at all times.

Spot tried to set up a trade with Jane’s group, but she ended up leaving along with her several soldiers. The people there had kicked her out for being friendly with the supposed enemy. A little boy named Jeremy took it upon himself to lead them. The Country’s Best Clan was officially disbanded.

Oh well, we gained a powerful new ally. She seems a lot better now that she talks to Spot all the time. Heck, if I didn’t have Rebecca, I might have gone for her as well! But that thought immediately disappeared when I saw Spot’s smile for once. He instantly looked like his actual age, instead of some grandpa. Hmm…I’d like to know their story.

Rebecca played with Sarah and I took Lucy fishing as a reward for her being so patient.

I had also heard about her actions during the fight against Carlos and his men. She was still tired, apparently, since she fell asleep on my lap. We didn’t catch anything alive, most of the water being contaminated, and all, but we did find a massive fish that ate all the others. It had apparently become a Level 2! That means it had to have a Skill!

Little Nemo, as Lucy calls the gigantic catfish, was supposed to be raised at a Level 0 if I was just starting out. However, in this time of raising so many corpses, I had Leveled Up my Spell to Level 4! I couldn’t instantly create Mid BOSSes, or anything, but I could create better versions of them. They still had the Bounty Level 3, but they didn’t appear on the broadcast. I bet they had to kill an Ability User in combat first.

The catfish became something different from what I expected. It became an Undead Leviathan. Wow. I placed it in the Inventory, which I can do, by the way, and took it to a massive river. I then took it out and let it go. Hehehe, go get me some points! Eat to your heart’s content!

Ahem.

Since they are already dead, being placed in a magical vacuum will not hurt them. However, this can only be done with Undead, not Monsters, Demons, Humans, or things with a conscious.

Lucy and I talked some and I thought it high time to take her hunting. However, if she does it with me, she might get attacked. So reluctantly for the both of them, Spot took Lucy out to hunt. Jane went with them as well.

I watched the construction of the little towns I had started on and noticed that my Domain now almost covered the size of two Regions! We had taken all of the Living Saint’s territory and could also start working there. I didn’t rush it since there was Jeremy’s new Clan called the Light of Dawn. They seem like a fanatical group. I hope I don’t have to kill them…

Sarah was busy taking a nap when Rebecca came down to the dining hall where I was currently eating some delicious mac and cheese. She sat down on my knee and wrapped her arms around my neck, resting her head on mine. I looked at her face and noticed her eyes actually weren’t cloudy.

She was also not looking at me in a horny way, either. She wasn’t even looking at me. It seemed to me that she did it almost unconsciously, although I doubt she really minds. We had been closer before. That was when Navi flew over. She landed on my other shoulder and tried to do the same thing which made me laugh.

It brought Rebecca out of her stupor and noticed the little Pixie copying her movements while puffing her cheeks out. She giggled at the little winged girl and kissed me right on the cheek, making Navi’s face red.

“Hey, don’t involve me in this…”

They ignored me. Navi flew into my shirt and kind of wrapped herself around my collar, like it was a blanket. For some reason, Rebecca’s eyes narrowed and she sat in my lap before wrapping her legs around my back and going to kiss me for real. However, Navi zoomed out of my shirt and went to stop Rebecca, but…

“Ptooey!”

“Gross! Blagh!”

“Umm…”

I was dragged away to one of the unused rooms on the second floor where they kept playing around with each other before they both tired themselves out.

Great. Now I have to go relieve myself…again!

After doing the deed, I left the two behind so I could see the budding village that surrounded the Castle. The huts were being turned into actual small houses and stores thanks to the multitude of GP and Resources.

There were almost 200 people here and another several hundred out and about around the Region. I thought building more Towns would cause those survivors to group together. However, I noticed that some of our other members are actually doing bad things. I think it’s time I do something…but what?

I don’t think this is a good idea but…

POV CHANGE

===========

Jeremy was busy. He had to make do with the small amount of stuff that was left behind when Jane went over to the Undead Clan. He didn’t harbor resentment since she was forced to leave by the other people living here.

He had learned from his time in the Living Saints that the weak shouldn’t have a say. It hurt the chances of the stronger getting better. If more people got stronger, then that would be fine. However, no one wanted to leave the encampment.

Since the government had appointed Jane, she had the say so to do things. When the group had wanted her gone, they also wanted the guns and vehicles. Unfortunately for them, they weren’t allowed to have military weaponry after publically declaring themselves the enemy of a government official.

If they had let her stay, they could have had soldiers trained in fire arms. But they were blinded by their rage. Jeremy knew also not to let that happen. He disconnected himself from the others even if he was the strongest here.

The elderly, the children, the women, and the weak. Jeremy was not going to have an easy time. He left the camp and stared at the moon. He wasn’t paying attention until an alert appeared.

“The Leader of the Undead Clan and the Lich Lord had entered your Region! Here he is!”

And the indicator pointed to in front of Jeremy.

Before he even knew what happened, a figure atop a massive Bone Wolf appeared before him. The figure, dressed in raggedy dress clothes and carrying a strange cane with a skull on top, landed on the ground. He tipped his top hat and the face of the Lich Lord himself smiled at Jeremy.

Without even thinking, Jeremy used his Flash to disorient the Undead and quickly rushed forward. The music he was listening to gave him a buff that increased his physical abilities. He took two steps and noticed the Lich was still in the middle of calmly putting his hat back on.

On his third step, Andrew placed the hat on top of his head and waved his cane, the sheath coming off to reveal a sliver of metal, glistening in the moonlight. The Lich swung the sword with little effort and Jeremy felt as if his entire existence was about to be ended right here!

He tried to turn, but found it difficult to, and ended up falling over himself and crashed at the feet of the terrifying enemy. Jeremy braced himself for the pain of the sword piercing his gut, when he noticed the sound of chuckling.

“Hehehe, you like it? I found it in one of those hobby shops that sell anime swords and stuff. I feel like it matches me pretty well, what about you?”

The figure gently sheathed his cane sword and placed it firmly into the ground, striking an imposing stance.

If Jeremy wasn’t about to piss himself, he would have agreed.

“Wha…what do you want?”

“Care for a deal? Do you want to kill my people?”

“Huh?!”

“Hmm, I guess that sounded weird. Well, I noticed I have some bad apples in my bunch that are abusing their luck. I want them gone, but I don’t want to have to go through all the trouble to kick them out. I can only kick out so many people a day, after all.”

“So you want me to kill your Clan mates?”

“Yes? But I don’t consider them Clan mates since they broke the rules I put in place. If they are going to act like common thugs, they will need to be dealt with.”

“That’s not how life works. Before the apocalypse,”

“That was then, this is now.”

The Lich twirled his cane and coked his hat to the side before strolling out onto the hill where Jeremy was just sitting and watching the moon.

“People will think they have all the power to do whatever they want. You can’t change that.”

“True, that is indeed true, young man. In fact, that is truer now than it was before. People with power will abuse it. So why can’t I?”

Jeremy stopped what he was doing because he had heard similar words from his father upon joining the Living Saints.

“I try to maintain a semblance of order, yet these guys come along and screw things up! I can’t just scold them, they will just do it again! So I need your help. Your people hate my people. I can easily just leave a person hanging from a rope. They can die from ‘natural causes’ that way. But I need someone who can take out the ones who might earn Skills.”

“…I will think on it…”

“Good. Well, I must go. Have a wonderful night! Oh, and if you don’t want to, that is fine. I won’t force you.”

The figure deftly jumped onto the Bone Wolf and they sped off again, and soon, another alert showed that the Lich Lord had left their Region.
