After earning the Skill, Sam was able to activate it in the living room, the place he was in when he got it. He activated the Skill and it encompassed several yards away from the building itself. Sam just wanted everything to go back to normal so the Dolls went back to their usual jobs, cleaning and fixing.
Because of the Dolls being corpses, many people came by thinking they were zombies. However, they ended up dead when Sam reacted. He wouldn’t let the people he knew to die again. Soon he showed up on the broadcast once more, and more people came to take advantage of the situation of a safe place.
But they couldn’t stay safe when Sam could easily snap his fingers and kill them. Of course, he wouldn’t do such a thing, but they left him no choice. Killing so many people easily Leveled him up to Level 4 by the time Andrew sent him the request. Confused, Sam had accepted, not knowing what he was doing. However, when he received GP for joining, he unlocked the Fairy and the various services provided by the monitor.
He got a teddy bear and a gorgeous red dress. He had yet to put it on, though.
“Why do you still wear girl’s clothes?”
“…”
Stupid John, he had no idea what being sensitive was.
“I…It just feels right?”
“Well, it doesn’t look wrong…Heh.”
“I felt like doing what Mother taught me was easier and more enjoyable. Of course, it may have had something to do with Mother teaching from a very young age.”
“So? If you like it, there should be no problem. There are exceptions, but you are not hurting anyone else. I have no problem with you being a guy (since it still would have been bad for me if you were a girl).”
“What was that?”
“Hm? What was what?”
John looked away and began scratching his stubble, looking for a distraction.
Seeing a figure standing outside the window reminded John of Chance.
“Can we let him in?”
“Oh, oops. Forgot about him.”
The building began to shake once more and the super tough seal blocking John’s exit was removed, allowing the figure to fall inside.
“Cammie! Are you okay?!”
It wasn’t Chance, but the oversized lizard. Seeing the large lizard try to enter the house in such a comical manner made the little Sam giggle.
After Chance and the Skeletons walked in, things started to be changed. The Skeletons removed all the trash from the area and came back with the wagon, sitting in place off to the side in the garage. Chance seemed wary Sam now, but he wasn’t about to attack.
John took more time to explain an easy way to enable this building to move. They used a simple rolling method. Sam’s commands were the fuel for the house so it could move as long as the mechanism kept up. Of course, since it was being under the effect of Dollhouse, it could fix itself if something were to happen.
John had used the wagon from the garage to show Sam how the wheels worked. After getting the hang of it, spending an entire day to make a rudimentary system to allow the house to move, they were able to set off.
Now they didn’t have to worry about walking. In fact, they were like a mobile fortress! A couple Gunners took up positions at various windows. Archers took the upstairs’ balcony and acted like scouts. It looked like it was going to be smooth sailing!
Unfortunately, it apparently rained, making it difficult for the simplistic wheels to continue. At one point, the wheel slipped and tipped over a ditch, forcing the house sideways. However, using Dollhouse, it was up righted and everything inside was fixed again.
They met some Beasts, but nothing that was terribly difficult. They had already passed the state border, but when they passed the State border, they all received an alert.
“Wow! It seems the Undead’s reinforcements are on their way! Watch out for Baba Yaga’s and Howl’s love child! The infamous Dollhouse! They have made their appearance in the State and have come to help out the Lich Lord! Maybe you’ll get something nice if you stop that from happening!”
Chance furrowed his eyebrows and John could help but to yell out a curse word, earning himself a disapproving stare from Sam. Sam was currently sitting on Cammie, since he was apparently more comfortable than the couch. Everything was going pretty well until the Radar showed several tens of people.
Of course, most would scatter when the Skeletons shot, but the Humans would return with more people, waving their weapons in anger. They had been scrimping and scrounging for good things and these people get to walk around in a house?! Not fair!

Many tried shooting the house, but if any damage had been given, it would have been immediately fixed. But, three men stood out amongst the group of now fifty men and women.
They had surrounded the slow moving house with ease and demanded that the house be turned over. However, they didn’t understand that only the person who created it could drive it. They were too obstinate and desperate to actually pay attention. They were like survivors in a desert that found a mirage and thought it was an oasis.
No one on the survivor’s side had been hurt, much less killed, however, they had attacked with the intention to do so first, thinking the Skeletons were just terrible shots. Before the building stood one of the three men. Thinking they were about to run him over, they stopped.
However, they still felt like they were moving! John looked outside and saw that this guy was lifting the whole building! What a monstrous Skill! The strong man had tossed Sam’s house with ease and to the three, the world shook. It was soon stopped as the building began to fix itself again, like an unmoving mountain.
It was when they were looking for the strong man when another man appeared before them, looking like a punk with his many tattoos and piercings. The man snapped his fingers and little fire danced in his hands. The fire began to take the shape of some character or word and was sent at the house, making it combust into flames.
Yet again, the house fixed itself, although this time it happened slowly. John looked at Sam, but he didn’t seem to be weakening.
Taking the chance of distractions, a loud crash came from upstairs, throwing the three into disarray. Chance Morphed into Andrew while Sam grabbed his stuffed bear. John and Cammie both went invisible while the long range Skeletons were all being protected by the Soldiers and Guardians.
The burly man came trampling down the stairs, ignoring the Skeletons, and saw the Lich Lord himself standing right there next to a little girl so pretty she could have been a doll. Caught by surprise, he didn’t even notice the dagger plunged directly into his neck until it was too late.
Sam’s face went rigid, but he didn’t get flustered. He had seen this one too many times, after all.
Chance Morphed into the burly man and motioned for everyone to hide. Chance opened the door and welcomed the other two in and promptly closed the door. Well, Sam did, but Chance expected her to. (He still doesn’t know about the whole ‘Samuel’ thing)
Sam quickly used the stairway railing to wrap around the two until it got so tight that the two were popped in half. With that, Sam finally had his third Skill. The other two? Dance and his new one he picked, Fire Brand. Now he could attack without relying on his Dollhouse.
But the whole building began to shake once more, yet there was nothing wrong with it since no matter what Sam did, the shaking didn’t stop.
There was another Ability User! Chance saw that a chasm was being created underneath them. However, it was too slow. Before Sam could even register what was going on, Chance grabbed him and jumped towards the door, the Skeletons going to get the wagon.
John looked over and saw what was going on, but he too got grabbed without warning by Cammie and was lifted out the window, his glittering lizard not far behind. As soon as Chance left the confines of the house, it collapsed, as well as the Dolls inside, falling into the chasm that appeared out of nowhere.
John was still winded so Cammie rushed at the dirty man that looked no different from the other survivors. However, he was too tired after that attack so he was a sitting duck for the massive gecko. He was eaten in a flash, his power giving the already dangerous Dragon Subspecies even more strength.
John filled Chance in on the specifics of Sam’s Dollhouse, but couldn’t find the right place to tell him that Sam was a guy. Especially when Chance was acting like Sam was his little sister, or something.
On the way back, it was up to John to deal with any and all problems that appeared while Chance spent his time getting to know Sam better. Of course, somehow, Chance was still in the dark about his gender.
Thankfully though, Sam wasn’t upset at Chance. Even if they easily got out of the building with time to spare, they wouldn’t have been able to do so with the house, it being so slow.
But for some reason, Sam seemed more determined than before. John had secretly filed the report since Chance had a bad habit of forgetting it. So when they all arrived back at the Capital, a massive room was reserved for Sam all to himself in one of the Towers. When he walked in, he was welcomed by tons of dolls and toys that not only would keep Sam busy, since he couldn’t leave, but also provided him with good recruits.
Now the Southeast Tower and nearby halls were patrolled by toy soldiers and stuffed animals, proving to be a place well-liked by the children, giving Sam lots of friends. And of course he got along with Sarah and Lucy. In fact, the Southeast Tower would now be the first place to look for them.
And since Dollhouse could fix the Dolls, they were used to practice very often, which helped not only the Humans, but even Sam himself as he got to know his power more. He couldn’t help but look into the night sky sometimes and wish for his family to still be here. However, with his new friends, he was not alone anymore.
“Don’t worry Mama, Papa! I won’t be an embarrassment! I have found a place to live!”
