Clever Tutorial Taker 2/3

This one is a little short compared to the previous one, but there are still some major stuff contained inside. Again, if something doesn’t seem right, let me know!

========================================================

“So I mentioned before that I would return to the monitor updates. Now that you are a Lord BOSS, anything you do will be put onto the broadcast.”

“What? That’s not fair!”

“In exchange, now whenever someone completes a hidden Mission, Special Mission, earned a Title, or killed a high Bounty, they will automatically appear as well.”

“So I won’t have a Daily Tragic Show?”

“No, that will still be there. It’s to help the ‘players’ track your movements. But there will also be a Daily Top 10. This will show the best people in the Region each day, based on kills, Abilities, and even equipment.”

“Am I on there?”

“Yep. First place.”

“Wow…So do you get anything from being in the Top 10?”

“Yes. Now you earned the Summon function on the monitor. After becoming a Noble, you earned 5 armor set tickets and 5 weapon tickets.”

“Umm…those better not be like those Gacha lottery things.”

“They are indeed. You use ticket and you will receive a random item corresponding to the ticket type. In the Summon area, you can receive anything from weapons to armor, or animals to Abilities, or even companions or resources.”

“Wow.”

“Yep. These tickets can be purchased using GP.”

“Gacha Points?”

“No, moron. God Points. You can even purchase them using your real money.”

“Not this shit! Micro transactions are a menace!”

“But now you can make use of all that money. $100 = 1 GP!”

“What kind of fucked up ratio is that? Isn’t it usually the other way around?!”

“Not here. Hmm, who gets the tickets?”

“What do you mean? Can’t I just use the tickets and give the others their armor?”

“You idiot! If you give them the tickets, they can unlock the Summon and Inventory functions as well!”

“Eh? I have an Inventory?”

“Yep. Any ‘game’ related items can be stored here, so no trying to sneak mac and cheese away.”

“Aww…mac and cheese whenever and wherever I wanted…”

“Hey, pay attention. Don’t go to sleep!”

Huh? When did I get on the bed? Oh well, it feels great. NNnnnnngh…aah…

“Whatever. I have an idea, we’ll make this a little game. At the end of this tutorial, I will give you a test! Can’t help but make sure you are paying attention! And if you fail…hehehe! I will take one of your Skills away!”

“WHAT?! You can’t do that! Can you?”

“Haha! Got you up, didn’t it?”

“Shit. Fine.”

I adjust myself so my back is propped against the wall. Navi is still just laying around, but she continues to move and wrap herself up in the blanket.

“So we went over your Race and Job, how you came to be a Noble, the Summon and Inventory functions…and I may have touched on the Units function. We’ll continue there. Units are the things that you control. This can be tamed pets, minions from an Ability, or won in the Summon function. Now, about your zombies.”

“What?”

“Most have become really intelligent but you’re treating them the exact same ways as the others.”

She took a little difficulty to unwrap herself from the blanket before daintily walking over onto my outstretched leg.

“You are using the loopholes against the rules. In most cases, this isn’t bad, but why not play according to the rules?”

“Huh? What rules?”

“You found out the function of not telling them something they don’t want to do. How else could you take this information?”

“Tell them to do something they want to do?”

“Exactly! If you learn what your Units want, they can perform better.”

“Really? Sounds like the same way to treat normal people.”

“Exactly. That’s why I want you to release all of them from their restraints.”

“WHAT?! They’ll kill each other! That’s a dumb idea!”

“No, because they retain their information. They hold the memories of their previous lives.”

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.

“Even more so. No way am I releasing those bandits!”

“Now, now. Trust me.”

“Fine. But they are coming here. I don’t want anyone else to get hurt.”

----------------------------------------

It took several minutes while I waited for the 18th zombie appeared before me. The room was crowded and some were in the hall. I gave a reluctant look to Navi before releasing the rules I placed on them.

They just stood there. Hmm…I forgot they only act whenever I command them too. It was the basic rule. I feel stupid. Navi just smirked at me.

“Now what?”

Navi had moved to my shoulder and was nestling in that little nook in my shoulder. She was warm.

“Tell them to ‘Say whatever whenever they want.”

“Great. Now I will have to deal with expressionless weirdos.”

I told them all, but they still just stood there.

“You can talk now, you know?”

Reese was the one who stepped forward. He had turned into a Skeleton Mage complete with his old business suit. He definitely looked like an old style mafia member. All he needed was the hat and a tommy gun. The inside of his skull was on fire, making him look like some cleaned up Night Rider. Bad ass.

“Sir, we didn’t want to interrupt Your Lordship.”

“What’s with that way of talking? Don’t you guys hate me?”

This time, the boss from the Amigos, Amigo Leader, walked forward. He was entirely red, and looked every bit like a thug would, but red. Maybe I should call him Red Amigo. I saw the other two Amigos were blue and green. These guys aren’t Rangers, what the fuck? If I had to describe them, they looked like the different colored but same monster. You know, when you fight an enemy but when you go to a different place, they are still there, but stronger and a different color.

“Naw, we kind of mellowed out. We don’t find being angry to be very productive.”

“Navi, what happened to them?”

“They take on a similar personality as the one who leads them. It’s really funny to see minions using each other to remain lazy.”

“They’re all lazy?! But what about training?”

“Don’t worry, Your Lordship. We will make sure the people are safe.”

“Why is Red Amigo so casual to me, yet Reese here is so polite?”

“They still retain their speech patterns. Cool, huh?”

“This is getting weird. What are the Amigos, anyway? What are Haunters?”

“They are zombies that focus on strength instead of speed or technique. Just think of them as next Level zombies.”

“Wouldn’t that be something like Mummy, or Walking Corpse?”

“This isn’t DQ, idiot. No matter how badly you want it to be.”

“Oh. Okay. So I have three Haunters, one Skeleton Mage, one Ice Specter, one Thunder Phantom, one Shadow, one Ogre, one Fallen, two Ghouls, three Revenants, and four Skeletons. Hey, what are the requirements to Level up into these guys?”

“Ae you asking for them, or wondering about your own?”

“My own…”

“Because you would rather have your minions do things for you, you became a lazy Undead Leader, a Lich. A Lich’s Job is usually Necromancy, so that’s where you got the Spell from.”

“But why do I look this good?”

“Because you aren’t.”

“Eh?”

“You aren’t. You are still short and wide.”

“But I’m ripped! Look at my muscles!”

“Oh, you mean the energy you expended to evolve? Yeah, nothing much. Don’t think you automatically look like a hunk.”

“Aren’t Liches supposed to be…bones?”

“Nope. They are just Undead of their previous race. They don’t have to be bones.”

“Then why did you say Rebecca would want to…with me if she saw my face?”

“It was for her.”

“I don’t follow.”

“I lied. She didn’t want you to see her.”

“But I saw her while she was sleeping. Why worry?”

“She doesn’t know that. And I didn’t tell her. Oops.”

“Whatever. So what about the Domain function?”

“Aha! The major part! Your approval rating and castle building!”
