Jane had managed to make it back to the compound without killing someone. Unfortunately, she almost, no, she definitely increased the hostility. Sha had tried her best using the techniques she found to work on most people.
First, she was someone of authority. She led strong people and could easily have them do anything she wished.
Second, she came from the government. In this time of chaos, most, if not all, survivors would flock to their open arms demanding safety.
Third, she displayed her power. She made no effort to hold back so to prove she had the courage to fight if necessary.
Unfortunately, authority meant nothing to people who had the same level of control. Spot may have been the temporary leader, but Brandon and Reese commanded many Undead by themselves. Spot was merely a figurehead for the Humans.
Next, the members of the Undead Clan came from notorious groups of wanted men and wished for nothing more than the dissolution of the people who chased after them. Besides that, even the normal Humans weren’t completely willing to give up the flimsy peace they now have.
And finally, her strong arm tactics only inflicted more anger towards her and the group who she headed. But how was she to know that the people respected a monster? According to everything everyone knows, the dead were the bad guys, right? Why would even a small child be willing to submit to one?
And not only that, the other girl was strange, too. She apparently had no qualms about letting that arrow fly. If it wasn’t for her abilities and Skills, Jane would have been scared shitless. When that little girl pulled a shiny bow out of thin air, Jane realized that even a little girl had become strong in this crazy disaster.
She looked out the window and saw the crappy tents that the civilians slept out in. There were pathetic excuses for farm land and the only restrooms they had were now outhouses. Most of the better luxuries were already wasted or being used by the soldiers. The army couldn’t afford to treat people who couldn’t do a thing to help.
And when they suffered from zombie attacks day in and day out, they not only suffered from low living standards, they also suffered from the constant fear of possibly dying. And when people heard of the Necromancer that could even control the dead, many people felt sick to their stomach. Imagine, even if you didn’t turn into a zombie, you could still be forced to do things you never wanted to do.
There were some cases of some people’s disappearances, but then, come to find out, they had accepted the Lich’s invite and left to join his Clan. The compound had easily fortified walls, highly trained soldiers, and access to powerful weaponry. People were wondering if the Lich had done something to them to make them leave.
Thanks to the guns, it was a piece of cake for the soldiers to become Level 1. Simply handing a normal person a gun and having them shoot twenty disabled zombies made them become Level 1. There were several soldiers that managed to succeed early on and show up on their Region’s broadcast, but they had joined hands with the previous General.
They believed in hunting down every zombie to end this farce. They completely eradicated any and all Undead or Infected they found. The General involved willing civilians to help bolster their forces and equipped them with weapons of mass destruction to earn easy points.
They hadn’t created a Clan, but when it was announced by the system, they had no choice but to make their own. However, they were too late and didn’t receive an award for it. Someone else had beat them to it.
Some of the civilians ended up joining the other new Clan so as to receive GP and get stronger faster. There were still some simple minded and naïve young adults who thought they could survive in this strange apocalypse since they thought it was just a game. Unfortunately, it was all a trap.
The other Clan, the leader had named it Living Saints, tricked the possible members to show up at a specified location. It was easier to kill other Humans to Level up, since only 10 kills were needed. The people who wanted to join had to kill 10 other people. Some tried to run, but it was no use. Their antics were displayed on the monitor for everyone in the Region to see.
Fearing for the people’s safety, Jane had tried a risky maneuver to try and ally herself with Spot and the Undead Clan. But now…She fucked it up.
Jane had joined the compound’s Clan, the Country’s Best. It was tacky, but all major leaders had apparently the same idea. All Clans that had the Country’s at the beginning of their name were now to be recognized as government forces. After Jane had joined, her superiors had General Stillers give her a high position.
Then, they were all killed. The government still had to keep up appearances and to allow someone who would endanger the lives of the innocent so easily would never be allowed in modern society. But, no one was there to witness the event except for those who would never speak of it again. Now that all the leaders of the Clan were dead, Jane was bumped up to the Leader's position.
Jane, after hearing about the troubles that plagued the group, focused on the task at hand.

She needed to help protect the base and maintain it. Maybe she can patch things up with Spot later, she mused to herself.
First things first, she demanded her loyal toys to begin building actual buildings necessary to increase the standard of living for these people. She located places of interest, as designated by the exclamation points, and even started work on patrolling the perimeter. Eventually, she would increase their borders and make sure these people were safe.
Probably what tore her apart the most was the stories these people wanted to tell her. They were all for blowing the Necromancer to bits since he was leading the zombies. The people here viewed the zombies and Undead as the same thing and wanted nothing more than to see all of them die.
They all had stories of loss and pain, some even losing their entire families. And when they finally grew close to someone else, they would die as well. On the third day, a massive swarm of zombies appeared because some guy didn’t want to kill his pet snake. It bit someone and transmitted the virus, turning many people in the course of an hour.
Among these people were the General’s family and most of the soldiers’ families. The man was trying to bring his snake through the preliminary screening where a lot of people were being tested for the disease. However, one wrong move turned the entire room into a gore fest.
Jane knew this was going to be difficult. She needed to get into contact with Spot, but she couldn’t act right around him even now! If he wasn’t going to work, maybe she would have to communicate to that bastard Skeleton.
Of course, if any of these people here were to find out about her actions, they would probably want to burn her to death. These people harbored a terrifying hatred that put that Demon’s Skill to shame. Luckily, the Region the Undead Clan was in happened to be next door. Jane used the monitor to find his name then sent him a friend request.
She needed it to send a message, after all.
It was accepted, much to her surprise.
‘What do you want, bitch?’
Frowning at the rude skull on the screen, she couldn’t help but get a little riled up. No man ever could resist her charms, but she never tried her hand against a full blooded criminal before.
“I need…want to set up a meeting. I wish to…rectify today’s encounter.”
‘Psh, not gonna apologize? And here I thought I was wrong. Looks like you owe me, Spot.’
Spot? He was there? Shit, now she was starting to feel the sweat against her back. She had no idea how she could still feel those stupid butterflies at 33 years of age! Even Spot, who looked much older than he actually was, was only 37. Of course, no matter how he looked, Jane felt that she would still feel the same way.
It took all she had to throw everything she had learned in her life away. She needed to drop that stupid better than everything attitude and that useless pride. She needed to approach this like her life depended on it. Because it did.
“FINE! Dammit! Yes! I am sorry. Please don’t kill us.”
‘Whoa…shit. I lost 50 GP.’
Jane could hear that stupid laugh she used to know, unfortunately, it was too distant.
“We are in dire need of resources and aid. I know you have access to working electricity and stable crops. Even if all you can guarantee is that you won’t ever attack us, it will be more than enough.”
Suddenly, she received a notification. A friend request from Spot!
She hastily accepted it and found herself blushing like an idiot again. Feeling the embarrassment, she quickly adjusted herself for the face to face with Spot.
‘Heh, and you said I changed. What’s wrong, Jane?’
A gentle smile spread on her face before she complained the night away, just like they used to do, all those years ago.

If you are weirded out by our guy’s actions at the end, just wait until tomorrow. I try not to do things without reason.
