The Royal Mates
Chapter Nine

Chapter Nine

~Amorelli~

After we left New Delhi, we were walking for a while. For a couple of hours to be exact. We had to find a safe place for Zinniah to shapeshift into something large to help us get to Russia quicker.

"Amorelli, what are we going to do? We need to find a place where I can shift and help us travel faster."

"I know Zinniah, I know. I'm trying." I muttered to her. I wasn't worried about rushing towards the water. The month was July, and my birthday is December 18th. I had plenty of time. Plenty of time to find my mate and to explain everything to his family. Then they can set everyone free and destroy the whole facility, together.

After some time of more walking, we stumbled upon the most perfect place.

"This is it! This place is beautiful! And no one is here, so that's even better." Zinniah says happily. Luckily there was a sign nearby to tell us where we were.

'Karimaba'.

Huh. I guess we walked farther than we thought. I looked up towards the sky and saw it was getting dark.

"Yes, indeed. Alright, you stay here. I'm going to go get some firewood. Then we'll start a fire, camp here for the night, then leave at first light. Got it?"

"Yes, ma'am!" Zinniah laid against a nearby rock and rested. I walked off about two hundred feet to gather firewood. I found some dry leaves as well, so that will help get the fire started. After five minutes I came back and the first thing I heard was a stomach growl coming from Zinniah. I giggled and she blushed, shying away.

"Come on, let's try and find something to eat. There has to be a rabbit or two around here." I said and she nodded and got up. We walked around and not long after that, we found a stray rabbit. I then whispered to Zinniah.

"Alright, turn into a wolf and carefully hunt the rabbit. Don't step on leaves or twigs. They have good hearing. Catch the rabbit, alright?" She nodded and shifted into a small brownish-grey wolf. I thought she was cute. She then carefully made her way towards the rabbit and after a few minutes of lying low to the floor, she ran at full speed and grabbed the rabbit, killing it in the process. I felt bad, but we needed something to eat. After she came back with the rabbit, she gave it to me and shifted back.

"Never... Ever, make me do that again. Ever!" She sounded very distressed.

"I won't. But that just means we have to hurry up getting to Russia." She frowned while nodding. We walked to our little camp and I successfully-after many failed attempts-made a fire. I made her not look as I was preparing the rabbit, but after I was done plucking the fur from it, I stuck a stick through it and put it above the fire. It smelled good, and hopefully, it would be done cooking soon.

"So. What do you think is gonna happen when we get there? And how will we even know we've gotten there?" Zinniah asked and I stayed silent for a few minutes, thinking about what I was going to say next.

"Well, hopefully, we get there safely, without any interruptions. And I don't know how we'll know when we're there yet or not. But I know we're far from it. Hopefully, they'll accept us with open arms and let us explain everything. We need to tell them what's going on before it gets worse. Since we're so important to one another, they won't stop until they have the both of us. They'll probably kill you, but torture me. But don't worry. I won't let that happen." I smiled sadly towards Zinniah and she just shuffled her way over towards me and cuddled into my side. I giggled a little and tended to the rabbit. It looked like it was done. The outside was a brown color and it smelled amazing. I looked around for two rocks, ones that weren't too round but were also flat. I found two decent ones and went back to the rabbit. I carefully tore off a leg and put it on one rock, and tore off another leg and put it on the other. I placed one in front of Zinniah and she started eating. I then began to eat the rabbit.

"So, do you think my mate will also be in Russia? Or will I have to travel around the world to find him?" Zinniah asked curiously.

"I have no idea my little weed. But don't worry. You'll find him. I promise." I smiled towards her and finished off the leg. I decided I would like a little bit more of the rabbit. I then thought about cutting the rabbit but I had nothing to use. I have no knife or anything to help me out. I looked around and saw the beautiful lake we were near. An idea then popped into my head, making me gasp. Zinniah then looked over towards me in shock.

"What?" Zinniah said with a rabbit in her mouth. I giggled and stood up. I started moving my hands slowly, making a small sphere shape close to my body. I then thought of silverware. A large knife, and two forks. And after a few moments, I felt the water. It was splashing all around inside the small sphere. I then could feel the handle for a fork. Then I felt another handle, and then the final handle. I heard Zinniah gasp and when I opened my eyes, she was looking at me in amazement. I smiled and continued to make the silverware. After another minute or two, I finally felt the final splash and then it was gone. I looked at my hands. Made of water, were two forks and a large cutting knife. I smiled at my artwork and gave Zinniah one of the forks. I then started to cut the rabbit. I cut some meat from its back and placed some on my rock as well as Zinniah's. She smiled in amazement and started to eat the rabbit correctly with the fork. I smiled at what I just did and started to eat. Once we were done eating, we realized we ate the whole rabbit.

"Wow," Zinniah mumbled.

"Yeah." I took the fork from her, and grabbed the other one as well as the knife, and placed them in the water, where they crumbled and joined the lake as one.

"That was amazing Amorelli," Zinniah said happily, but yawned right after.

"Yes, it was." After I said that I put more leaves and wood into the fire so that it would last us all night. I went up to Zinniah and laid beside her.

"Goodnight fishy," Zinniah mumbled.

"Goodnight weed," I said with a giggle and fell asleep.

~Mordikai~

We left the castle in Nidym, Russia to go to India to find my mate. We were running in wolf form almost the entire time unless we had to stop for breaks to eat or use the bathroom. By the time we got to Barnaul, it was already nightfall. We saw this very large hotel and shifted behind a building and put our clothes back on.

"Alright guys, we'll get a few rooms and leave in the morning. Got it?" I said and they all nodded. We walked into the hotel and walked up to the receptionist. He was an older man, in his late sixties I would say. He smiled kindly at us as we approached the desk.

"Hello, how may I help you folk?" He asked kindly.

"Hi, we'd like four rooms please," I said kindly.

"Just staying for the night I presume?" He said as he started typing on the computer.

"Yes, sir." After I said that he gave us room keys.

"Now, what would you like to do for payment?" He asks.

"I will have someone from the castle come over and pay it off. Until then, send the bill to the York family." I said with a small smile and walked off with my friends. The man then finally recognized that it was me, the soon-to-be king Mordikai York. He then nodded and started to send the bill to my family.

"So, now what?" Justin asks.

"Well, Adelaide and Marcus will get their own room. Justin will also get one, Mac will get one, Emily will get one and then the last one is mine." I said and we all split up. I found my room which coincidentally was right down the hall from everyone else's. I entered my room and looked around. There was a television, a large bathroom, a queen-sized bed, and a small balcony. I smiled in content and went straight to the bathroom to freshen up. It was going to be a long day tomorrow. I went into the bathroom and looked for the shampoo and conditioner. I easily found them in a cabinet that doubled as a mirror. I then turned the shower on and undressed. It was a good thing I wasn't using these clothes all day, I'd have no way of washing them.

I hopped into the shower and started thinking about my mate. How beautiful she was. How it would feel to hold her in my arms and make her mine. How it would feel when I mark her and we are then one. I would feel everything she does, and always know what she's thinking. To know what she thinks of me. I will have her. I will know everything about her. Whether I have to force it out of her or not.

'You need to calm down. Our mate will tell us things when she's ready.' My wolf tried to tell me.

'She will be mine. I will find her. And she will always stay with me. Forever. She will not be going anywhere ever.'

'But what if she wants to see her family?'

'She can visit them in a few years. And if she does try to escape from me, I will always find her.' I cut off the link between us and finished my shower. I dried off and went to bed, closing the curtains in the process. I smiled contently as I laid in bed thinking of my beautiful mate.
