~Maverick~
"Now, if you would be so kind as to let us in so we can discuss this properly, that would be most appreciated." Alistair glared at me as he thought for a moment. He thought for a moment longer before keeping his queen near his side.
"Fine. You will tell us everything you know, and only after that will we find your mate. She is around here somewhere." I nodded and felt my wolf Charles pacing. We were both anxious to meet her.
"Thank you. Last time I was here I only caught a whiff of her, but it was very faint. However, I still got the tattoo. I'll do anything to get my mate." I felt Charles come up to the surface for just a moment before he went back. He knew if we lost control now, we wouldn't get anywhere.
"Alright. We will speak in my office. You tell me if you smell her." I nodded once and followed the King and Queen into the palace. We walked all the way to the King's office with my rogues following behind me. We saw a maid leaving a room and Marshall growled. The young girl turned around quickly and gasped. They hissed as a mating tattoo appeared on the backside of their wrists. The king cleared his throat.
"This is Elina. Your man can leave us to spend time with her if he pleases." The king then started to move and I stood there from shock. Marshall smiled and walked over to Elina. He quietly told her his name and she blushed a deep red.
"You're just, allowing him to be with his mate instead of going to the meeting we have?" Alistair looked at me as if I had two heads.
"They're mates, I'm not a fucking monster." He growled and Amorelli sighed and was trying desperately to calm him down. All Alistair did was take in deep breaths of her scent and rubbed her stomach. I groaned and rubbed my temples. Watching my best warrior with his mate and our king and queen together is making me impatient to meet my mate.
"Let's just get this meeting over with. Marshall, gather your mates things. She will be coming back with us." This Elina girl stood there shocked as she nodded. Marshall put his hand on the small of her back as she guided them to her room. The rest of us finally made it to the King's office and we all sat down.
"Alright. Tell us what you know." Amorelli demanded and I sighed.
"What would you guys like to know first?"
"Where are they being held?"
"Old Delhi." King Alistair looked shocked and nodded. One of his guards was writing everything down. Princess Zinniah was paying attention to me intensely, and it was making me uncomfortable.
"Something wrong, Maverick?" King Alistair was still seething and I sighed.
"Does the Princess need to stare at me so intensely?" Amorelli chuckled.
"She has the power to show people what she has previously seen. She is watching you so she can show the other rulers what you have said. Don't mind her, and just keep talking to us."
"Wait, so she's probably seen my mate?" Amorelli's brows furrowed and she shrugged.
"Maybe she has. After you're done telling us information, she will show you everyone we have encountered here, and you tell us if you've seen her. Now please, continue." I sighed.
"Well, the boss and I made a deal many years ago. That he would give us power and whatever else we wanted, along with great sums of money, in return for stealing every princess and bringing them to us." Alistair growled before he spoke.
"You aren't even that old. You're around my age. So, who was in charge before you?"
"My father. He never shut up about some stupid prophecy." Alistair went stiff.
"Tall, dark hair, gruff voice?" I slowly nodded my head.
"Yes, but he died a couple of years back. Why do you ask?" Alistair growled.
"He took my sister right in front of me." I sighed and rubbed my neck.
"I apologize. Shall we continue?" Alistair nodded once.

"So, your father was helping the boss with his plan?" Amorelli asked and I nodded once.
"How do you disable the shield?" Amorelli asked and I sighed.
"It's harder than what you seem. There is a switch in a highly secured building, and even then it's a hassle to get in there. You have to fight off one hundred plus guards, you have to know which way to go one you get in because it's like a maze on purpose, then even before that you have to shut off the camera's, and when you do get to the switch, you have to enter the right access codes. There was a rumor saying that it was the birthday of his favorite princess. But Goddess knows who that is," I paused and sighed. Amorelli looked at Alistair.
"It's either me or your sister who is his favorite. When Zinniah and I escaped, I heard his guards say how important I was, but I know he usually likes to use Samara, and rumor around the slaves was that she was his favorite." Alistair was shaking and he only nodded. He pulled Amorelli closer to him and growled lowly.
"We can continue this later once he's calmed down if you wish." Amorelli shook her head.
"No. If we let him calm down, he will become just an enraged later. There's no point. How do we cut the power to the cameras?"
"There's a power box on the border of the shield. You have to figure out which fuses or switches to take out for the cameras. You would need to take out every single security camera fuse." Amorelli nodded.
"Is it perchance the building that they use for the lockdown for the slaves?" I nodded once.
"How did you know?" Amorelli's eyes went wide.
"We know how to get in there. Every month he does a lockdown like clockwork. He never misses it. What's today's date?" Amorelli asked and King Serge spoke up.
"November first," Amorelli nodded and thought for a moment.
"He'll have the next one on November 25th. We need to be ready by then." Alistair growled.
"You will not be participating." Amorelli grew angry. Why the hell was he saying that?
"Alistair, I am helping whether you like it or not. You can't stop me," Alistair but her off.
"You are pregnant with my pups. You are not going, end of story," Amorelli scoffed and forced her way out of his grip. Alistair let out a guttural growl as she sat down across from me. I looked back and forth between the two before Amorelli spoke.
"Don't mind him, he's just pissy. Anyway, how do we get in? You said there was a proper way to get in?" I nodded and cleared my throat.
"Yes. Outside of the border on a certain side, there is a front gate surrounded by guards and watchtowers filled with more of them. You would need to get through them first. Once you're inside the field though, you will feel everything leave. Like your wolf or your powers are being sucked from your body. It's not a fun feeling, and I've had some of my men go mad because of it until they left the shield and everything was returned. They refused to go back inside because of what happened. It's dangerous in there." I finished speaking and Amorelli sighed and held her arms. Serge was holding Zinniah and everyone was quiet.
"Is there anything else we need to know?" I racked my brain and sighed when I came up with nothing.
"Not at the moment, but if I remember anything or the boss comes to speak with me, I will update you guys." Amorelli nodded and sighed. She stood and made her way back to Alistair. He growled at her and pulled her back into his lap. She sighed impatiently as he took in deep breaths of her scent.
"Alright, well, a deal is a deal. Zinniah, show him every woman we have encountered that doesn't have a mate." Serge slowly let go of Zinniah as she carefully made her way over to me. Her hand shook as she placed it on my cheek. I felt my eyes glaze over and I sighed. Many women were placed in front of my eyes for five seconds each, giving me time to examine them and determine if they are my mate or not. I was growing irritated by all the people they have encountered that were women. Zinniah was about to stop and remove her hand when I growled. A beautiful woman with brown hair and brown eyes. I felt power roll off of her, so she had to be of rank. However, the memory that Zinniah has of her, is of the woman scowling and being angry. I'll be damned if she looks at me like that. Zinniah quickly removed her hand and ran back to Serge.
"Bless you. You'll need all the luck you can get with that bitch, but thank you for taking her off our hands." Zinniah spoke softly and I was confused. Why did everyone hate my mate?
"Why do you hate her? Who was she?" I stood and Zinniah sighed.
"It was Alana, Alistair's old Beta." I grew confused as Everyone but my guards and Beta growled.
"What did she do that was so terrible?"
"Treason. She tried to get with me, knowing Amorelli was my mate. Several times might I add. I removed her from her rank and made a man named Marcus my new Beta. She's currently in the dungeon with several thick layers of wolfsbane and silver on the bars." I growled lowly. Was my mate really that bad?
"Take me to her," I demanded and Alistair sighed. He kissed Amorelli's head and I could feel her anger rolling off her.
"I will kill her if she tries anything," I growled lowly and she scoffed. We all made our way toward the dungeon. I felt Charles pacing, becoming angrier at the fact that his mate didn't wait for us. She should have waited. By the time we got to the dungeon doors, I could faintly smell her scent mixed in with the scent of urine and feces. I gagged a little but nonetheless made my way through the dungeon. There were countless rogues here and I cringed. The farther we got into the dungeon, the stronger her scent became. Charles and I were getting excited. I could feel ger wolf reaching out to mine.
She was close.
All of a sudden, we stopped right outside of a cell. There was a girl in the corner of the room in a fetal position. I heard her take in a deep breath and her head snapped toward me. I felt her hiss from the mating tattoo. I growled lowly. Mordikai opened the cell door and I walked in. I made sure she felt the power rolling off of me. I picked her up and growled in her ear.
"Mine."
