Lupa moved on to Eric who was now face first on the ground and trying to get up. The professor above in the helicopter watched what was going on with a smile on his face, proud of his creation. The mile on his face disappeared quickly though.
Just as Lupa was about to cut of Eric’s head he quickly got up and made it behind her putting her in a choke hold. The series of moves happened in a but a few seconds leaving the spectators almost no time to react to the turnover.
Lupa began to fight back and try to escape his hold but no matter what she did Eric would not let go. At this point in time both of them were on the ground with Eric gritting his teeth as he tightened the grip he had on her.
Eric: “Esther stop, I don’t want to do this”
Lupa did not respond to his words but continued to struggle, Eric at this point was beginning to feel like it may be impossible to get to her, that whatever the professor did to her was permanent.
Lupa: “Er… Eric.”
Just as he was about to abandon hope Eric heard his name, Lupa who hadn’t spoken a word all this while had finally spoken and she had mentioned his name. At this point Eric was beyond emotional as he began to tear up.
Eric: “Esther are you in there? Can you hear me?”
Esther: “Eric… Eric I’m so sorry…. I hurt so many people.”
Eric: “don’t say that…”

Esther: “but I did… I killed them”
Eric: “It wasn’t your fault, you didn’t choose to do any of those things, it’s all that man’s fault. But now I can help you, these guys the E.V.O I’m sure they probably can…”
Esther: “Eric stop… listen you can’t save me…”
Eric: “what, what do you mean? Of course, I can and I will…”
Esther: “listen, Eric listen to me, there is a chip implanted deep into my brain. There is no way to remove it without killing me…”
Hearing Esther’s words, Eric’s eyes widened in shock as the realization of what she was saying hit him.
Eric: “No. No. No I refuse…’
Esther: “Eric you have no choice, I can feel the chip taking over I can feel the Lupa personality trying to take over once more and once it does, I won’t be able to take over once again. I need you to kill me, I need you to do it.”
Eric couldn’t handle it, he had gone through hell and finally found his sister but now he had to kill her himself with his own hands. The tears which had built up in his eyes could not be held back anymore.
Eric: “I don’t want to, I can’t, I just…”
Esther: “hey, hey, I know this is hard but you have to let me go, there isn’t much time.”
Eric was quiet as his tears streamed down his cheeks, he made a decision and took one last look at his sister’s eyes and shoved his hand into her skull and ripped out her brain. Eric stared into the eyes that rapidly lost all signs of life.
Eric hugged her tightly as her body lost it last signs of warmth. The professor who was above in his helicopter watching all this frowned.
The professor: “Useless waste, destroy them, we have enough of X-1’s samples to perform tests. Leave nothing behind.”
The pilot looked to the professor before nodding in understanding and pressing a button, with the press of a button a missile was released. Agent Michaels who was down below saw this missile released and screamed.
Agent Michaels: “Everybody run!”
Valarie looked up and saw and quickly made a run for it including everyone in the vicinity. The only person who hadn’t taken a step was Eric who was still holding on to his sister’s corpse, Valarie who run a certain distance noticed this and called out to him but it was too late as the missile made contact. The resulting force blew Valarie and everyone away.
Valarie managed to make it back to her feet but remained still when she saw what was in the crater the missile had formed. Elise on the other hand screamed out Eric’s name when she saw a scorched corpse still kneeling.
Elise wanted to run out to him but Agent Michaels managed to hold her back.
The professor seeing the scene below ordered the pilot to fly away. At this moment a scene which was nothing short of a miracle happened, Eric’s cells began to regenerate at a rate never before seen.
The professor: “WAIT!”
He shouted causing the pilot to come to a halt and just hover there. The professor using his binoculars had a clearer view of the sight and his was absolutely flabbergasted.
The professor: “This is impossible, apart from his brain which was lucky to remain intact every other organ was destroyed how is he able to recover. With this level of recovery, his is above B grade… this is an A grade Demi-Human.”
