All around in the memory were the smoldering ruins of Zaubsaal. Mahdi lay dying, using the last bits of his to stubbornly cling to life while the with Ariam surveyed the carnage. The Void King rushed over to Mahdi, using his exhausted to stabilize Mahdi; his right side was still mostly missing. I grasped the hatred they held for Reincarnators now at least. One delusional man doomed the rest of us. How many did he just kill to try and enact his vision? He attempted to take everything from them because it didn’t match his vision; the hero still exacted a heavy toll from them. The Void King glared at the with a stormy expression.
“King Helsiri, your contract holder is dead. Will you at least undo his final atrocity?” the Void King probed. His voice was angry, sounding similar to the distorted snippets of before.
“I am an King; I do not concern myself with the matters of mortals. As I no longer have any tethers to this Realm, I shall be leaving.” Helsiri responded coldly.
“Even though his and delusions were fed by you, you will do nothing?!” the Void King spat at Helsiri.
“I simply helped him become stronger. You mortals fed his delusions more than I ever did; do not blame me for your actions. He was an interesting and rare that intrigued me; not my fault you all went along with the chosen hero nonsense.” Helsiri retorted before dissipating from existence. I see why Helsiri getting murdered by Krahinn was overlooked now.
“Not entirely overlooked, but his lack of trying to fix the disaster he had a hand in making spared me from being executed for it, especially given what Scius does next.” Krahinn corrected me as past him and Hugminn returned Ariam to his side.
“What happened?” Ariam gasped, hugging herself deep into the Void King.
“Hero went mad with his delusions. He killed everyone but us in Zaubsaal.” The Void King answered, hugging her tightly.
“He…he…butchered me.” Ariam whimpered with tears streaming down her face.
“I know. He’s dead. I still love you; I will always love you.” The Void King replied as he set his head on her.
“Promise me you’ll make it so something like this never happens again.” Ariam demanded as she shook in his arms. Oh. Oh no. Powerful began fluctuating around the Void King as he formed an all too familiar shape.
“I swear on this I will hunt down every other Reincarnator so none of them can cause suffering like this again. I promise I will do whatever it takes to get rid of them from each and every Realm so no one else suffers at their hands.” The Void King swore. So, making us suffer is okay?
“That vow Scius swore is what drives him to kill you, Nil. You are never breaking that nor changing either of their minds.” Krahinn informed me. I mean, seeing the moment that doomed me to defeat him or die trying was nice. But.
“Why did he kill Hugminn?” I asked Krahinn. Krahinn let out a heavy sigh.
“Just wait, even though it's not like he had any reason to.” Krahinn told me. His expression was so pained.
“Scius, don’t make that type of . I understand you’re hurting, that you’re grieving, but making that kind of vow is for when you are of sound mind. Let’s take some time to mourn the dead.” Hugminn suggested, looking distraught.
“You could have helped!” the Void King spat at Hugminn.
“ can’t interfere when our contract holders are fighting each other.” Hugminn replied. The Void King held Ariam tighter as he had the bitterest expression on his face.
“Thousands of people died because of that! Helsiri clearly didn’t feel like mortals mattered, Krahinn doesn’t think humans matter, but I thought we mattered to you Hugminn. You acted just like those two did!” The Void King snarled. Hugminn looked hurt at those words.
“I do care! I’m still here! We can rebuild this!” Hugminn snapped back.
“You watched Hero annihilate this place!” the Void King shot back.
“ are forbidden from interfering in conflicts like that. I couldn’t help you then, but I can help you now.” Hugminn insisted. His face was clearly upset by what he had witnessed.
“You didn’t help me.” Ariam pointed out bitterly.
“I didn’t know you needed my help, and I'm not good enough at healing to fix this.” Hugminn tried desperately.
It didn’t matter, the two of them were clearly in no mood to listen. Hugminn sighed before walking over to Mahdi and using his to heal him back, even managing to regenerate the missing limbs. Even in I could feel how much it took to achieve that. Mahdi was laying there unconscious, the color finally returning to his skin. Ariam and the Void King were clearly holding a mental conversation that was making me wildly uncomfortable; every alarm bell in my head was going off looking at the two of them. The Void King was rapidly recovering his as he held his fiancé into him. Krahinn’s face was getting worse and worse as he glared at past him with immense guilt; there was this palpable dread slowly building as the silence became deafening. Past Krahinn was difficult to read as he stood there like a statue.
“Hugminn, they’re clearly not listening; we should go and give them a few years to cool off.” Krahinn stated coldly.
“Krahinn! We can’t abandon them now! They need our help now more than ever!” Hugminn snapped at Krahinn.
“Your contract holder is in no mood to listen. Why should we stay when we’re not wanted?” Krahinn checked. His expression was complicated, but current Krahinn looked utterly miserable.
“Just say what you meant.” Krahinn muttered to past him.

“You don’t abandon people in need Krahinn! We may be able to blink and have a century pass, but they can’t! We should help them, especially because Helsiri refuses to undo Hero’s actions!” Hugminn snarled at his twin. Krahinn just buried his face in his hands as past him looked taken aback.
“What about that , Hugminn?! Do you want to help kill any and all Reincarnators?!” Krahinn challenged his brother.
“Once he calms down a bit, we can get to the . We just witnessed Hero annihilate an entire city after committing an atrocity; emotions are going to be running high.” Hugminn told his brother calmly. His still wasn’t recovered from saving Mahdi.
“I am not entirely convinced Scius appreciates the difference between us not assisting him and the delusional man who committed these acts.” Krahinn replied. The twins were glaring at each other.
“Krahinn, why can’t you ever just help someone in need? It will be fine. We should help them, even more because it will take a long time to rebuild Zaubsaal without us. Your is incredibly helpful now.” Hugminn tried. Past Krahinn glared at his brother while current Krahinn was burying his face more into his hands.
“Idiot. Just be honest.” Krahinn mumbled. He looked so ashamed.
“Fine, we can waste our time assisting the going to be dead before we know it humans. We can witness the futility of him trying to figure out immortality to honor that .” Krahinn snapped at his brother. Krahinn lifted his head, looking on with pure misery on his face.
Just take him and run. Krahinn lamented into my mind as his control was slipping.
I looked at the Void King, who looked like a light went off in his head; something about his still demeanor let me know the moment that solidified Krahinn’s hatred of him was nigh. He also seemed to have managed to recover from the horrific fight he had with the hero. How did he recover that quickly? It didn’t matter as the Void King looked at the contract on his hand, running his fingers along the as the gears in his head were obviously turning. He looked over at the corpse of the hero as some sinister idea was dawning on him. Wait, the contract linked the holder and . Could it be weaponized against the ? Ariam looked at the Void King and nodded as both began glaring at Hugminn and Krahinn. Their gazes made my skin crawl as their simmering wrath was thinly veiled. The Void King’s began glowing before he dissipated his body with . Both twins looked confused, clearly not grasping what the Void King was doing. After a few moments, Hugminn began writhing.
“What are you doing Scius?!” Hugminn roared as he sounded to be in agony.
“Human, stop this!” Krahinn snarled as Ariam got to her feet.
“You did have one singular good point, Krahinn: our lives are far too finite.” Ariam told him.
Krahinn looked confused until it clicked. He immediately used to reach his brother, but Ariam was already attacking him. Krahinn pivoted around her, using to launch her towards the atmosphere. He rushed towards his brother in vain as the Void King moved Hugminn from one point in the space to another in an instant. Krahinn immediately began folding the space around him to try and get to Hugminn as he began howling in agony. Hugminn’s eyes were glowing this bright neon red while his body was twisting unnaturally.
“Stop this madness at once!” Krahinn snarled as he was desperately trying to get to his brother.
A horrifying realization occurred to me; the Void King was actively mimicking Krahinn’s and countering with his own to keep Krahinn away from Hugminn. Krahinn’s eyes began glowing as he began twisting the space again, forcing himself towards Hugminn. The Void King materialized, kicking Krahinn away. Hugminn was starting to look ethereal as his eyes glowed more and more; his was trying to form to protect himself in vain. Krahinn’s desperation grew fiercer as Ariam returned to the ground; she accelerated full force at Krahinn once her foot touched the ground with a swift slash as her blade was glowing with this gray light. Krahinn barely moved her with his while the Void King continued enacting some using Hugminn. Krahinn quickly used much more lethal force towards Ariam, conjuring a blade of to use . The Void King moved her to safety as Hugminn’s voice began drifting off. Krahinn stopped caring, as his went on a rampage, forcefully expanding the space around him as much as he could. The Void King materialized in an instant. So that’s a way to fight the . Krahinn shifted pieces around, manifesting in front of Hugminn, reaching rapidly out with his left hand. Ariam swung her blade blindingly fast, cutting it off. Krahinn howled in agony as he attempted to force his way closer, but the Void King was able to dissipate yet again in that brief moment Ariam created. Krahinn twisted the space around Ariam, nearly eviscerating her in a fit of rage; her was depleted as her body was nearly ripped apart. Krahinn with no hesitation prioritized his brother.
“Krahinn, please take care of Ipnerslei.” Hugminn gasped as he realized his death was imminent.
“You’ll take care of her! Scius, stop this insanity!” Krahinn shot back, using his to nearly reach his brother again.
Unfortunately, Krahinn being so emotional made him predictable to the Void King. A powerful lance launched right in front of Krahinn’s face, nearly cleaving his skull in two as his horns on the left side were brutally shattered. He powered through the pain, attempting to pull from the stars above to scorch the Void King.
“I guess you were right, Krahinn. I’m sor-“ Hugminn went to apologize, before his body dissipated into two red orbs and a translucent sphere as his went rampant in the area.
“HUGMINN!” Krahinn cried, taking a lance to his chest.
The Void King grabbed the translucent sphere, swallowing it whole. His body began contorting from the rampant power inside him, as Krahinn was struggling to pull the lance out. It seemed to finally connect his left hand was missing. Krahinn gasped as he used his right hand to slowly pull the lance out and rebuild his body. He shakily stood to his feet, formed a spear of , and launched it at the Void King. Ariam with her last wisps of power hit the spear as she collapsed to the ground again cause the spear to miss the Void King’s heart by maybe an inch. Krahinn staggered towards the Void King, struggling to control his to cast a to rip the Void King apart. Krahinn activated the , but the Void King deflected the at the end. He was breathing heavily but unharmed. The Void King rushed Krahinn, who nearly embedded another spear of into him for his effort as he was struggling to heal the wounds from Krahinn. Krahinn clearly tried to expand the wounds to make the Void King burst from within, who dissipated into before Krahinn succeeded. Krahinn fell to one knee with his eyes unfocused. Several lances hit his body, and Krahinn didn’t move, just taking the hits. A lance appeared over his head launching straight down to kill Krahinn, who in an instant vanished with a talon hand ripping the Void King out of , slamming him into the ground.
Krahinn had a stake of in his hand, slamming it into the Void King’s eye. He howled in agony as Krahinn took his hand back before launching it forward to shove the stake the rest of the way through. The used a basic, but powered up, to deflect the weakened Krahinn. He took his cut off stump as he was moving away in a valiant attempt to slam the stake. His elbow slammed into the Void King’s face as the stake was dissolved with while his body went several feet away. The Void King scrambled to his feet, beginning to cast several to attack Krahinn while beginning to the eyes he looted from Hugminn. Krahinn bitterly made a portal and leapt through, fleeing to Ygdazi. He collapsed on the ground, tears streaming down his face.
“I swear I will avenge you Hugminn. I will do whatever it takes to kill Scius, if it is the last thing I do I will guarantee his death. I give my word I will not die until he does. I also promise to take care of Ipnerslei and watch over her in your stead until I successfully avenge you.” Krahinn vowed before he just began screaming in anguish. All around me slipped away as I shot up from my bed in a cold sweat.
