Chapter 12: Future plans

Present:

It was 10:00 a.m. in the morning when Odin finally woke up from his 'little' nap.

He first headed towards the bathroom to clean himself. as this was his day off, and he was quite looking forward to getting a good lunch as he had already missed the breakfast.

Although his requirement for energy was dwindling after started absorbing the energy from the vidre stones, now he had to stop doing that and focus more on eating.

He was not even sure that the meals provided in the underground mine could even give him enough energy to sustain his body.

'Well if all goes well I wouldn't be living here much longer anyway.' thought Odin excitedly as he headed towards the only mirror in his room.

Broken mirror shows the visage of a devilishly handsome looking man. Even Odin himself was surprised about his transformation. For a moment he couldn't even believe that the person in the mirror was he himself. His physique has just changed so much in the past month.

His flat stomach is now replaced with chiseled abs and is an epitome of perfection. His veins were clearly visible when he clenched his fist. and Although he was not sturdy looking, he knew that his body contained strong dormant power.

His leg muscles were taut and extremely suitable for running. Most of all, his face had transformed into an adult's.

He looked like a teenager just a month ago but now one could not tell that he was below 20 years old.

The color of his left blue eye has become much darker and his silvery hairs were Shining, creating a contrasting enigma.

It's a pity that I still have to keep my eye patch on just for the sake of avoiding trouble, otherwise I would be looking even better now' thought Odin smugly. He wasn't worried about others suspecting him as ominira can now alter his appearance along with his aura.

He was also really satisfied with his right eye when he saw the message when he woke up.

[You have obtained The eye of Veritas primary form]

[Abilities will be available based on the path you tread on]

He then utilized the search function and asked ominira,

Can I use my right eye normally now in the open? Why can’t I see anything with it?

Although he had grown back his eye, he still couldn’t see anything with it. He wasn’t worried as he believed that it would take some time to fully recover.

“You can never see the world again with your right eye, that is a permanent sacrifice. however, you will get new abilities depending upon the path chosen.”

“You can keep the eye in the open, it will look exactly like normal eyes but in a different color.”

Two strings of runes floated up in front of him, and Odin felt surreal talking to Ominira. 'It's almost like I have a person residing in my head and I can communicate with them with just a thought.'

According to the knowledge in ominira, there are countless Civilizations like the one he is living in across the Zen star cluster. There are many other regions like Zen star cluster in the starry sky but he couldn't get any information about them at this time.

But even this much was a big surprise for him. He knew from the appearance of The Wanderer That there definitely existed many more worlds like this one, but to actually get information was still too much of a shock for him.

Compared to that, the fact that this world’s power system or cultivation method is wrong didn't surprise him much.

Even if the historical records were not lost by now, as countless Civilizations exist, the way people became stronger would eventually be different as well.

And just like this world, numerous other worlds and realms may also be using the wrong, or rather partially correct method to grow stronger as well.

Perhaps only when someone reaches the limit of their home plane and discovers a problem advancing forward, would they realize the mistakes they had made along the way.

‘I am fortunate to have ominira, my progress on my path will be much smoother and less time-consuming compared to a vast majority of people across all realms and worlds.’

Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.

Perhaps the Civilization Millennium ago had complete cultivation methods to ascend from this world, but now it is set in stone that no one can go away from this world.

At least not using the current professions. What excited him greatly was that he could perhaps be the only person who could ascend from this world and who knows, maybe in the future he can train others and take them to follow him outside of this world as well.

He also found out that the professions for ascendant were primarily divided between “Energy” “Element” and “Laws”.

This was the generalized structure that applied to all civilizations. He knew that the moment his transformation would be completed, he would also get to choose which path to walk on.

That will be the day he will get the basic information about his chosen path. He knew just how important this knowledge was, and it made him even more grateful towards the wanderer.

Back to the present, Odin Removed his eye patch and saw his right eye for the first time.

His sclera looked dark purple and he had a nearly Black pupil. In addition to his already not-so-common Blue Eyes, adding another purple one looked weird to say the least. ‘Thankfully my face with silver hair and differently colored eyes does not look too out of place but somehow gives a harmonious Vibe.’

Odin then got dressed and got out of his childish thoughts.

He had to decide what he would do in the future. He only has about 6 hours before he can select which path to walk on, and after that he would be making some big moves.

'I should pay sister a visit and talk things out with her. I had promised her that I would inform her before I started working on getting out.' thought Odin as he walked on

'Come to think of it, I should also inform Rolf and Darrick and my other two friends about getting out, by now they should also start preparing.'

He will not guarantee them anything even if he is 100% sure of getting out, as long as they are prepared by the end of this week they will be able to get out of this underground mine. 'a week leaves me with just enough time to plan things out.'

Odin planned to once again head back to The Ironclad Keep after getting more strength. He also had a rough plan about how to deal with the third layer's issue after getting rewards from his first mission

As Odin thought about the third layer, his blood which had been calm ever since this morning started boiling and he could feel his Bloodline screaming out, calling him to the third layer. Unlike before, he didn't suppress it and endured with his own mental fortitude.

Odin had a sharp look on his face as headed towards his sister's office in the central Cliff.

...

"So you're telling me that you have decided to escape from the underground mine? " asked sister in a concerned voice

"Well yeah after I come back from the third layer that is,"

We both stood in silence after that

Odin had already informed her about his decision about going to the third layer. Both of them knew what it meant, perhaps in the whole underground mine only the two of them knew what lay in the depth of the third layer.

As for things like escaping from the underground mine, it would be a problem to solve after he came back alive.

So in a way, talking about how to escape from here is futile.

But now that Odin had Ominira, He was confident about going to the third layer and coming back alive

"I don't know what will happen there but I can at least ensure my life."

Odin had already assured her about this but from the look of things, she still didn't believe him that much.

She couldn't be blamed for that obviously, even Odin wouldn't believe that he could one day be confident enough in his strength to go to the third layer.

For almost a decade it has been a Nightmare in his life, but now he was determined to overcome it and deal with that thing once and for all.

In order to convince her, Odin told her about the Ironclad keep as well. It wasn't that he intended to hide that from her, but the mission was too weird for him to explain.

"Fine, fine, I will believe that you will come back safe and sound from the third layer. Now let's discuss how you can get out of the underground mine." sister said with an assured tone.

"You probably don't need my help if you just want to get out of here, right? you probably want to bring your friends along with you."

"Indeed it's not just because they are my friends. They all have some talent in different fields, even Rolf and Darrick have some uses."

'After I get out from here I cannot do everything on my own after all, and instead of trusting unknown people, it would be better if I work with them.' thought Odin to himself

"Why didn't you ask me then?" she asked in a joking tone

"After all these years I know you enough to realize you wouldn't come even if I beg you. you are not the type of person who can abandon their duty for self-interest."

"Flattery will get you nowhere"

"I am not praising you though. you are in no position to take care of anything or anyone as things stand. l respect you for keeping order in this place however I do not agree with your methods."

"Let's not talk about it and get back to business. First of all, have you decided what will you do after getting out of here?" She ignored my question and asked while leaning back on her chair.

"Not really that's why I am asking you. I hope you can give me some suggestions as you are the one who knows most about Mizar."

"Well before I answer, can you tell me what type of abilities you have? Are you a mage or Warrior? How strong are you compared to Shane as a reference?"

"Well, I am neither a mage nor a Warrior yet, but I can get whatever abilities I want. That's why I am asking you about this. I can prioritize the skills I would need after knowing more about the situation outside."

She looked surprised after hearing that but didn't ask further and gestured me to continue on.

"As far as my strength is concerned, I'm pretty much as strong as Shane even without getting my abilities just based on my physical strength alone," I replied with a bit of hesitation

"Oh my! look how strong our little crybaby has become.." she replied teasingly

cough! cough!

"Caught you off guard didn't I? Haha" She seemed really pleased with her out of the place analogy

"Well it's good to see you are in a mood to joke around."

I suppose now she is finally convinced about my safety in the third layer.

"Are you sure you can get any ability that you want like going invisible or flying in the sky, things like that?" she asked with sparkling eyes, as if she was the one getting them.

"I guess so..."

I came to know about this when I read the floating message just a while ago
