After the period ended, Lin found out that his parents were doing their best to keep him healty; they started to give him food of magical beasts, they changed his bed to a more confortable one as he needed to pass a lot of time in it and every so often they would check on him.

However, they knew that because of his illness Lin would never be like other children of his age, he would lose all the childhood period of his life and this filled them with sadness.

In reality, Lin could already walk and run without problems, he still had some problems with small movements of the finger or similar situations, but as of now he could do what most 2 years old children could... however no matter how you looked at it, there was a reason he would not be able to integrate: he was skinny.

Because of the disease entered in the 2nd phase one day after the expert doctor went away, now Lin looked like a ghost. Not that it disturbed him, but his parents got scared and were going to recall the elder... fortunately Lin managed to calm them down by saying that the pain lessened.

With that explanation, Lin's parents thought that it was a sign of recovery and didn't bring it up again, but if one looked carefully he could see their pained faces.

Unknown to Lin, some strange feeling started to bud in his heart for the first time from the interaction with his family; though Lin downplayed it a lot he could feel the boundless love of a mother and the silent caring of a father.

Not even him knew that it was in this moment that the decision to kill every unfilial son and heartless parent during his cultivation road was made.

No one in the clan knew, but it was during this period and thanks to the love and caring of the clan leaders for their son that decided the future rise of the Qing clan and will be later known as the clan with experts coming from all different planets in order to request a weapon from the junior apprendices of the clan.

Lin hid the fact that he could move until his 4th birthday, when he surprised everyone by walking and running... when his parents saw on little Lin the naughty smile of a child which accomplished his prank, they were elated and even more happy about it than the fact that their child could now run.

During the years little Lin was too quiet and they were worried that he would give himself the fault that he was different from normal children, so it was a great sight for them to see their child with that look on his face.

"Good job little Lin" said his father while patting his head, while his mother took him in a bear hug.

In two year, Lin managed to cultivate his darkness spirit root at the middle heaven tier, while the others were stuck at the high earth tier; but this was not the only thing Lin did.

During those two years Lin used his blood to draw a sealing formation all over his body.

This formation was the one that was used in the Divine realm to seal the cultivation of deites... Lin repurposed it to hide his cultivation in three layers; in the end if one has the key to unseal one's own cultivation, the seal becomes quite useful.

The first seal would allow him to show a cultivation appropriate for the average-upper cultivation level as his peers... but powerful cultivators would feel something off in his aura, leading them to believe that he was using some kind of technique to hide his real cultivation.

The second seal would allow Lin to show a cultivation on par with the world shaking geniuses of his generation; he needed but a thought in order to open the seal... one could think of it as an ajar door and this was what powerful cultivators would sense in his aura.

The third layer would unseal his full cultivation, but in order to not show it, Lin completely sealed this layer and he would need at least 5 minutes to undo the seal... it must be understood that during a fight 5 minutes seem an endless amount of time, but what could he do? Lin was sure that his cultivation would be many times faster than anyone in the whole plane and if it was exposed it would lead to a wild hunt with him as the prey.

Because Lin still had to begin cultivating, the seal patterns were invisible and useless, but that would change soon enough.

Once the birthday party was over and Lin found himself alone in his bedroom, he decided to "learn" some Tier 0 techniques.

In the variour worlds and planes, techniques are divided in tiers numbered from 1 until 10 with 3 subdivisions each (low-middle-high) in base of how deadly they are and how much destruction and power one can unleash while using them.

This being said, the evaluation can change from planet to planet and from plane to plane.

In the end, on each world the most powerful technique is deemed and every other technique is labeled afterwards... this causes differences in the ranking of the same techniques in different planets.

Then what about Tier 0 techniques? They're techniques that everyone (even non-cultivators) can learn given some time, but they have 0 attack power and are deemed useless all accross the planes... some of them can even be found in mortals libraries.

-Idiots, if your ancestors were to know, they would come back from the death to beat you up- thought Lin while thinking about how Tier 0 techniques were seen in the last 2-3 trillions years.

It must be said that some Tier 0 techniques were really useless, but why in the first place Tier 0 skills would appear? Was it possible that the expert that made them were simply bored or had too much time on hand?

Obiviously not, back in the old days (trilions of years ago) Tier 0 skills were called Utility techniques. They did not increase one's own fighting power directly, they did it indirectly by helping the user in building more powerful foundation of giving a bonus in a certain field.

And Lin had quite a few of them that he deemed essentials to learn before starting his cultivation, and they were:

1) The art of breathing; this was a skill needed to cleanse the air he breathed from any impurities. For now his body was eliminating every impurity in it on his own, but that would not happen after he started to cultivate and with each breath a small amount of them would enter in his body ruining his foundations. 

What's more, the skill would also strengthen his lungs, help him with every kind of poisonus substances in the air and enhance his cultivation speed.

2) The art of eating; this skill served the same purposes of the Art of breathing, but the more he ate, the more energy would it grant him to boost his recovery speed.

3) The art of walking; this technique is a way to walk that would use the muscles of the whole body for every step. It would set the basis for his future footwork and his future body refining technique, it would also would help him to strengthen his whole body by a small margin (though what Lin considered small margin is rather big for others).

4) The art of watching; this technique not only give the user the ability to see farther, the night vision and the Qi vision, it's a skill that gives the user a new way of seeing the world. Every part of the body and every sense would merge and give the user a clear understanding of the situation even with closed eyes.

Lin knew that it was a skill that prepared and set the foundation for what the cultivators called and enhanced his soul.

5) The art of transformation; this skill was developed by the Dark sovereign. It is a mix of cold reading, knowledge of the human body and a bit of improvisation. It gave the user a way to change one's own body up to a certain extent, understanding on how to best appeal to others and various ways to get out of dangers.

The dark sovereign created this skill because he always found strange how a simple smile or some well spoken words or the way a person behave could change the flow of a battle or help him in a difficult situation.

After reviewing the 5 Tier 0 skills, Lin decided to master them within the next 4 years.
