To the ones who read my other novel: I'll write chapters for it when inspiration hits me, I don't have as much time as before to write, I don't even know if I can update the new story daily, so I don't know when I'll write the Undead who yearned for life.
----------------------------------------
The girl had blonde hair and a slim waist, while her womanly parts were not that developed, the sovereign could already foresee that she would become a beauty given some years.
As for why the sovereign took interest on her, it could be explained as the lack of other affinities in the girl.
In all the different planes and planets, the beings who only had one affinity were very rare, and they all possessed the most latent talent among their peers.
This being said, no one possessed only one affinity at 100%, it could already be considered divine having an affinity of 80% to the element, the last 20% is a mix of all the other elements.
No one knows if one own attitude and behaviour influence one's affinity or if the affinity influences one's own behaviour, it's like asking who came first between the egg and the chicken.
Only sovereigns know that in order to ascend, it's necessary to completely embrace one own element and dao, eliminating everything else.
Just like a person can't have the light affinity and use it to kill wantomly without a reason or a person who has the fire affinity can't battle in a coldheaded manner, else they will never reach the peak of their strength.
So, what would happen if a person only had the light affinity 100% without anything else?
This picked up the Dark sovereign's curiosity.
Not even the sovereign himself realized it, but at this moment the slow deterioration of his body stopped completely and the darkness around the village increased.
The girl was an orphan, but she was adopted by one family of the village; sadly they treated her like a labourer and gave her only the least amount of food to not let her die... this when they didn't beat her or send her to sleep without food.
The girl wasn't stupid, she knew that her foster parents didn't look at her as a daughter, however her heartfelt smile never waned and she always tought that the next day would be better than today.
It never happened.
The other children of the village started to pick on her because she didn't have parents and the adults just let it go, in the beginning she had a best friend, but she betrayed her one day by revealing all her childish secrets.
That night at the light of a candle was the first time the girl ever cried.
Unknown to the girl, the darkness around her grew thicker and shut down the candle, enveloping her. Once in the dark, the cries came to an end while the tears dried, while for the first time the girl felt safe she dozed off.
The next day, her usual smile was once again on her face.
She tought those days would continue, but fate likes to joke, during her fiftieth winter, demon wolves invaded the vilage during the night searching for food... in a moment people started to ran in all direction.
The girl and her family weren't an exception.
While running in the forest with the demon wolves approaching from the village, her brother tripped the girl thinking that the least she could do after being taken care by his family was to act as a bait to let them escape.
After the girl fell, she could see that no one in her family stopped to help her, and the wolves were nearing.
The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
The girl ran and ran, and although her physique had grown strong as a result of all the work she did, she still had a limit; when her strength left her the girl sit near a tree, waiting for death with a smile on her face.
Even now she easily forgave everyone, even her family.
That smile hit the sovereign like a hammer, how could she still smile and forgive in this situation? Although he was surprised, the sovereign could do nothing to save the girl, the rules implemented by the seven of them were clear: the sovereigns can't meddle with the lower realms, else they would be killed by the other six.
This being said, the girl could feel the darkness around her become ticker, and when the wolves came, they simply passed near her without noticing anything strange.
In the middle of everything, the girl fell asleep.
The girl didn't wake up until the next night, when her hunger woke her up. She didn't know how much time passed, but it was dark again; she was going to walk in a random direction, but something told her not to; it was like three out of four direction were blocked by the darkness, so she walked in the only direction left.
Following it, she began her journey; she din't know how or why, but by following the
This surprised her just as much it surprised the Dark sovereign.
Her journey lasted fo a year, during which she learned how to hunt, how to skin, how to craft bows and how to sew from people she met thanks to the darkness' guidance, which only her could feel; not even the Dark sovereign could feel it... or maybe he was doing it subconsciously.
In the end, the girl managed to reach a city and enter it, while the strange feeling that guided her disappeared.
From that day on, the girl could feel safe only when in absolute darkness.
After reaching the city, by a series of coincidences she began to learn light magic in a church, becoming the church's saint... however she could not escape her fate; she was too kind and forgiving, she could neither use attack or defence magic, only healing.
Because of that, she was lied to, conned and betrayed multiple times, but she never sought revenge, which simply encourged people to fool her even more in a vicious circle.
Sometimes the darkness would happear again to save her, but why or from what, she never understood, she limited herself to not go in the direction the darkness blocked.
Then, one day while roaming in the streets, she saw a child being threatened with a dagger in an alley, so she decided to save him... never would she have imagined that it was a plan of her own church to kill her and the child was one of the actors.
The last thing she saw before dying were some clergymen give the boy a few silver.
Her last tought was -Ah, I hope he can now live well-.
Just as the life left her, her soul got pulled somewhere accross the planes, everything blurred and when she finally stopped, the only thing she could see was a handsome young man who angrily looked at her, and then he spoke.
"WHY?"
