Floor 27 part 2

I kept my eyes on the giant’s wrist and waited till the movement timing was right before standing up stepping forwards and slashing through its wrist. I had to go back down through it to make it most of the way through.

It instinctively pulled it away and grabbed it with its other hand. Since its shoulder moved upwards this time, I was thrown closer to its neck.

Made it easy for me. I slashed and sidestepped before jumping to the next one. I worked quickly through the rest of them. Well as quickly as I could. Some weren’t facing the one I had been on, so it was easier to get on them and cut before they noticed, others were more aware.

I fell down to the last one’s stomach and didn’t want to climb all the way back up, so I did my best to gouge out a sizeable hole there with my hands.

I held my sword in my mouth and dug into its flesh. Its roar was thunderous, and I felt it vibrate through its body. Its hand came down at the hole and I went into the hole I made to avoid being hit.

That texture though was somehow worse for every part of my body except for my hands. I shuddered and stabbed my hand into its palm. It pulled its hand away slightly, and I held on to move with it. I used it to launch myself up higher on its stomach than my previous hole.

That hole didn’t work too well, and it wasn’t really pleasant to be in so I climbed up as fast as I could.

One of its hands went back to the hole while the other tried to grab me.

“Jump!”

I listened to the voice and managed to dodge the hand. It was a familiar voice, but only slightly familiar, but it was helping me.

I was halfway up its ribcage when the voice called out again.

“Jump!”

With the voice’s help, I made it all the way to the top, I was in the middle though and instead of heading for the shoulder I just slashed at its throat.

There was more blood this time though and I looked down to avoid getting it in my eyes as it washed over me. It didn’t flow for too long and when I looked up to see why it stopped, I saw the Giant’s hands clutching at the wound.

But with where I had cut it, I didn’t think it’d last much longer.

I looked down. The ground wasn’t too far. So, I let go and fell into the snow. I missed the fluffy unpacked snow though and hit a bit harder than I was expecting.

“Alright, Quartz, one of the elves noticed you and is coming your way. The other one is heading for Dodger. She’s fighting the trolls with Sailhin and Brick. It’s Paeris by the way. Along with the buff, I hit you with a one-way communication spell.”

“Oh… uhh, thanks for the help then.”

I had to get this blood off me though. So, I went to the fluffy snow and rolled around in it for a little.

“You don’t have much time to clean off, you should’ve picked a different method.”

I felt a bit better by my hair was now dripping with cold and watered down than the previously warm thick substance.

“They’re almost there.”

I slicked my hair back trying to get it out of the way and looked to see an elf with a sword coming down from the sky at me.

I went to grab my sword, but I must have dropped it when I went to clean myself.

Hopefully, my aura would be enough.

I raised my arm covered in as much aura as I could manage, wanting more and took the force of the strike.

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

I felt it enter my arm slightly. There was just enough aura to protect me but not enough to completely block against not getting cut at all.

“Your sword it behind you to your left a couple meters.”

I threw the elf off of me and stood fully. I had to block another strike though.

At this point, there was no point in trying to get my sword. For the next hit, I used a little less aura so that the blade would get into my arm, just enough so that both edges were inside.

I didn’t know why I thought of this as an idea, but I imagined my aura surrounding the blade holding it in my arm.

I saw the elf’s eyes widen as they tried to pull their blade out, but it didn’t move.

I pulled him towards me and swung my other hand slamming my fist into their face. I felt their bones crush under it and they let go of their blade stumbling backwards.

I tried to release my aura and take the blade out, but I couldn’t shut it off for some reason. I looked at it for a moment concentrating but my aura remained in place.

It was a bit weird fighting with a blade in my arm so after dashing a bit of a distance I took the sacrificial blade and cut my arm off at my bicep.

“That’s better.”

I looked at the elf and saw dark colored mana surge at their face and watched it reconstruct itself. The flesh moved in an odd way and there was a cracking sound when things seemed to find its place.

“They can regenerate, there’s got to be a limit to it but- “

“I just need to hit it till it’s dead right?”

I heard him sigh, and I chuckled dashing towards the elf again.

It didn’t seem to be good at hand-to-hand combat so it brought out a short blade from a strap on its thigh.

I used my remaining arm to defend against that and then landed as many blows with my legs as I could. It didn’t seem to matter how many I landed though; it would always regenerate.

I might as well try to take a limb off. We had gotten back to where I initially fell from the giant and luckily, my sword was not under the corps of the giant.

After throwing it a bit of a distance I grabbed my sword and ran after it. After getting parried twice I managed to cut off its arm.

I watched as dark tendrils protruded from both of them and started looking for each other.

Now that’s a weird way to rejoin, why didn’t it just make a new one? That would’ve made so much more sense.

I put pressure on it to create distance between its newly lost limb and the main body. As it backed away it did its best to still get back to where I had lopped of its arm.

It was now focused on evading me and was doing a pretty good job, which was annoying.

I put my sword away and aimed to grapple it.

After a few tackle misses, I finally landed one and we landed solidly into one of the giants.

I pinned my nub against its neck and firmly grasped its wrist with my hand. I tried pulling its arm off but couldn’t get enough of a distance to pull since I was shorter.

I braced a foot against its stomach and removed my numb using my foot as leverage.

I fell backwards away from it with its arm in hand and did my best to scramble in the half-trampled snow to get up.

I threw the arm away and the elf looked in its direction. It ran that way, and I tripped it.

It fell face first into the snow.

I stepped on its upper back and grabbed its long hair. I pulled but all I managed to pull out was its hair. If I had two hands, I could easily pull its head off.

“Idiot, you have a sword.”

That was Alcoroth this time.

I felt my face heat up slightly and I cut off its head.

It was embarrassing whenever I’d forget something like that.

The tendrils at its arms disappeared and there was a celebratory chorus of fireworks sounding off. I went to cover my ears but only had one hand.

I then grimaced a little remembering I could just back off the sound completely with my aura, so I did.

I looked up to see the fireworks in the sky and a banner appear.

I didn’t read it just yet though looking around for Mezu. Who cares about completion details, I wanted to see if Mezu got to see everything.

Alcoroth’s mouth was moving but I couldn’t hear him. He could just yell at me later. More importantly, if Alcoroth was here, Mezu should’ve been too.

I looked around and saw him sitting on the giant closest to me eating my arm.

“Did you see that buddy!?”

I was grinning and he beamed at me and leapt off tackling me into the snow. He sat on my chest looking excited, eagerly eating. I saw Alcoroth floating next to his head and pointed at his ears.

I looked up at the sky and saw that the fireworks had disappeared, so I turned my hearing back on.

“They were really loud, so I turned it off completely, I can’t control it too well yet. What were you saying?”

“I was merely acknowledging the progress you’ve made in your fighting. Though there are times when you are rather dumb… While I’m sure with both of your hands you could’ve pulled his head off, and not from pulling his hair, but don’t forget that you have a sword to help you out. And that elf is right, you should do something with your hair, it got in the way.

“At this point even outside the tower you’d be able to defend yourself enough that you wouldn’t be in any serious danger. They all know, and even if the other elves are hiding how much they know, as time goes on it should all be revealed.”

I wonder when Alcoroth would use their names, it was a bit weird that he wasn’t.

There was a ding and I looked to see the banner.
