I was woken up by Brick gently shaking me. He signed my name, which I knew also meant food.
“I really hope you’ll think of a different one soon.”
He grinned.
I shook my head slightly annoyed and sat up.
Mezu sat up also and yawned loudly.
“Alright bud, lets feed you real quick too.”
I picked him up so I could get out of bed then put him back down on it.
Brick nodded at me and left the room.
The bandage the person last night had put on, was on the bed in a pile. He was right, they just came off when my arm was done. It was a bit weird but nothing for me to really complain about, it was more convenient. I wanted to see how quickly it would heal my full arm, so I cut it off at my armpit.
Mezu beamed at me, fully awake now, and stuck the bleeding end in his mouth sucking on it. I fumbled with the wrapping up of my arm. It really wasn’t an easy thing to do and now I was wrapping an even weirder spot.
The guy yesterday did such a nice job of it too. I sighed. Maybe Paeris would help me.
“Mezu, why don’t you eat in here and come down when you’re done?”
He shook his head and got out of bed. Well, it was worth a shot.
We headed downstairs and Mezu ran over and jumped onto one of the couches. I heard the rest of them from the kitchen, and the smell was nice, so I left him there.
“Uh, Paeris could you help me wrap my arm?”
I asked as I entered the room, but he didn’t answer, and I don’t think he heard me in the first place.
There was a chaotic scene of Dot and Dodger arguing about when the food would be ready. Paeris was sitting with his face twitching a little bit, his brows furrowed. His hand gripped a ceramic mug tightly as he took a sip from it.
“Why’d you wake me up so early if you didn’t make food yet?!”
“This isn’t the guild floor! Laria isn’t here! I like sleeping just as much as you and I’m not trying to get into your pants!”
“Laria wasn’t trying to do that! She’s just an awesome cook!”
She picked Dot up by the front of her shirt and Paeris slammed his mug down on the table.
“Don’t fight in the morning.”
His voice was calm, but it made the two of them freeze. Dodger put Dot down, and Dot got back to work. Paeris then turned to me.
“Good morning,” then he looked at my arm, “oh do you need help with that.”

“Yeah…”
Paeris patted his hand on the seat next to him, so I sat down. He took the bandage and got to work.
“Was this one of your rewards?”
“Yeah, I think I got them on the twentieth floor but I kind of forgot about it.”
“They’re nice!”
Dot made me jump up in my seat. She was right next to me and looking at it closely.
“Dot, the food.”
Lefty called from his spot at the counter.
“Oh right!”
She scurried back over to the stove.
“She’s an equipment junkie.”
I’d never met a dwarf who wasn’t.
“Alright all done.”
He patted my arm and took a sip from his mug.
I didn’t see Sailhin in the room yet. Dodger was now getting plates and silverware from the cupboards with Brick’s help.
“Where’s Sailhin?”
“She fell asleep before taking a bath last night so she’s taking one now. She should be done soon though. Do you mind if I tie up your hair now?”
“Uh, yeah that’s fine.”
He got out of his seat and stood behind me. This was a whole new experience for me. When I was younger my uncle helped me dye my hair but that was only every once in a while. Now my hair being touched and tied away neatly was a completely different thing.
Even if he was doing things gently, the pulling sensation was a bit weird. I closed my eyes doing my best to sit through the odd experience. Luckily it wasn’t long till he was done.
I opened my eyes back up and my bangs were no longer in view. I had gotten so used to them being there I didn’t even notice them. And with my newly enhanced sight it was even easier to ignore them. Well, when they weren’t covered in blood and sticking to my face in weird positions.
I put my hands up trying to feel what he did. My bangs were braided back and into a ponytail that held the rest of my hair. My ears were now out in the open and I felt weird about it.
He sat back down next to me.
“That should help but it’d probably be better if you just don’t get yourself covered in blood like that again.”
“It’s not like I did it on purpose.”
I put my hand down and played with the spoon that Brick had set in front of me.
“Well, I cut that part of the body on purpose, but I didn’t really think about the blood spraying out like that so quickly.”
Paeris laughed a little, surprising me, but he was interrupted before he responded.
“Alright let’s eat.”
Lefty and Dot started bringing food over. It was basic eggs, fried meat, bread, and rice. Paeris got up to quickly make his own meal.
Sailhin came in halfway through us eating and fried up some extra vegetables since Paeris had only made enough for himself.
“So, are we heading to the next floor right away? I mean, I see that Fluffy was fed but we probably shouldn’t stay here for too long.”
Dodger nodded eagerly.
“Might as well, it’s not like there’s much to do here anyway.”
Dot finished eating and was putting things in the sink.
“The sparring room downstairs is so small, wouldn’t be any fun,” Dodger mentioned with her mouth full.
“If it ever gets bigger, do you want to spar?”
It came out of my mouth before I thought about it but it’s not like I didn’t want to spar her. Climbing was important but sparring with her would be fun too.
“Yeah! That’ll be fun! If Brick and I spar, it’s too easy since we know each other’s moves.”
I grinned another chance to fight against aura.
“We need to climb more in order for things to become improved. The system doesn’t specify when that will happen,” Paeris said.
“Then let’s climb quickly! If we finish a floor before its nighttime here, we should keep going!”
Personally, I had to climb at a decent pace but since I was now with people, I would’ve been forced to climb at their pace. It would’ve been bothersome if the party I had ended up with didn’t have any need to move quickly. I was particularly lucky to have at least Dodger since she was clearly interested in climbing quickly. Well, it seemed more about getting a larger sparring room so that we could fight, but either way, I couldn’t complain. I wanted to climb quickly and spar with her, it really was a win-win scenario.
“Then finish eating so we can go.”
Mezu came in at this point and pulled on my remaining arm, rocking back and forth.
I knew he didn’t want up; he was just bored. There was a bit of dried blood on his face, so I went over to the sink with him to clean it up.
“Done!”
I could tell from her muffled voice that Dodger had just quickly stuffed all the food in her mouth. I finished my cleaning job and heard everyone’s chairs move.
We spent the next couple of minutes putting our gear on and then headed to the next floor.
