Ch6.0

-Day 3-

It’s been awhile since the Anons have started the search.

I ran off with what meager supplies I could grab.

However now the only thing I have left is a snickers bar.

There’s no other choice I’ll have to take my chances in order to secure more supplies.

Luckily it’s raining today perhaps I can use that as cover.

-And back to the story-

-Warning if you are allergic to the word “real” then you are about to get an overdose-

Ch. 6.0

With a flash of light Joshua or Alexander (going to use his in game name so it’s more familiar) appeared in the citadel of Serabourg, Rosenheim.

“Thi-This is so freaking cool!”

After his eyes adjusted from the flash of light Alexander was amazed by his surroundings.

From the buildings, to the roads and to the sky he could not believe how much more realistic Royal Road was compared to the simulation exercises.

It was no bluff that Royal Road had achieved 99% realism since the training exercises were realistic but if they were to be compared to Royal Road than the training exercise would have felt like 80% realism.

After observing and admiring his surroundings some more Alexander made his way to the streets and found a passing NPC who kindly directed him to the square when he asked for a map of the city.

Just as he was about to make his way to the square a series of flashing light quickly surrounded the area blinding him once again.

As the light faded he saw hundreds of players opening their eyes with their mouths slowly moving wide open.

“Whoa this is awesome!”

“Omg finally a real VRMMORPG!”

“This feels so real!”

“Whoa even the npc look so real!”

“Woah is that a restaurant? The smell is so good and real!”

“Dude even the weather here is feels unbelievably real! It really feels like I’m outside!”

Some of the players still had their mouth gaped wide open, others were looking around and some were moving around doing kicks and jumps testing to see how real this game felt.

The whole site made Alexander chuckle since all the testing simulations helped him get used to moving his body in VR.

-Heheh so many people with their mouths wide open and look there are even some doing kicks haha maybe I should take a quick screen shot of this.

However as more light appeared and more people started jumping up and down and kicking the chuckle died down real quick.

-I should get moving to the square, this is kind of getting out of ha-ow!

*Smack!*

-Did that girl’s hand just smacked me!?

*Pow!*

-2hp

-Okay which one of these ***** just **** punch me!?

*Bam!* *bam*

-3hp

-Now I’m getting kicked and a second time!?

*wham*

-8hp

-Oof!? Now I’m getting tackled!?

The situation being far more dangerous than Alexander had realized. He quickly made his escape using his training to swiftly move in and out with the movement of the growing crowd. As more light started appearing he moved even quicker as the now growing crowd would soon become a mosh pit.

Little did he know that several players that day had already died from the same number of hits he took.

*Huff huff huff*

Alexander now free of the crowd and in the empty square found the bulletin board the npc had mentioned. Quickly taking a screen shot of the map he quickly found where he wanted to go.

Taking off running Alexander rushed out of the square before that too became a potential mosh pit.

-Hmmm turn right, go straight, and go right again and ah here we go!

After a series of turns and paths Alexander found himself standing in front of Rosenheim’s main library.

The reason he chose to go straight to the library was because he reasoned that since everyone came here to play a game hardly anybody will be at the library, and based on the map it was conveniently further away from the starting point in comparison to the training halls and guilds and shops where most of the players starting off will flock to. However that wasn’t the only reason Alexander chose to spend his time first at the library.

-According to the reports the beta testers found out that physical training could raise stats permanently without having to level. So maybe studying and reading books could raise intelligence.

Since warriors could train to raise their physical abilities why couldn’t wizards do the same?

This simple train of thought failed to reach the thousands upon thousands of players that will soon join Royal Road as time passed.

After entering through the doors Alexander immediately headed straight towards the stairs to the first level where the books were kept. In his rush he failed to notice the librarian at the counter right next to the entrance of the first level.

“HEY You Can’t Just Wa-!?”

The librarian with his tongue down his throat gazed fearfully as the stranger before him turned his head to look at him.

-His eyes…*gulp* it feels like a wild beast is about to tear my head off

“Sorry didn’t notice you there I’m just here to read. What were you saying?”

Stuttering the librarian answered back, “Oh, nothing please continue on”

Alexander continued up the stairs leaving behind the flustered library clerk who quickly busied himself as if pretending that nothing happened.

After spending a few hours reading books ranging from the History of the Continent of Versailles to the Wonders of Herbology I received a message.

With the message I quickly gathered more books about magic some of which came from the upper level of the library.

After going through piles of magic that I gathered I gained another level up message which I ignored since the

Effects were just increasing my reading speed.

Instead I decided that it was time to put what I learned into use.

According to the more advance books there were methods to show which affinity of magic I was more suited towards.

Unfortunately in order to cast the spell I had to memorize and recite an entire 10 pages worth of spell words mumbo jumbo. After repeating and making several attempts I received another message which surprised me.

The additional feature kept me going as I attempted to memorize and recite the 10 page incantation which became easier and easier after every attempt. After 3 hours of persistence I received the message I was hoping for.

After rehearsing the spell one more time in his head Alexander proceeded to cast the spell.

*10pages of incantations later…*

-unless you want me to right the whole thing out, no? Okay okay-

After reciting the last word of the incantation his entire body began to emit a bright aura.

-Cool I learned spell casting, wait after all that my affinity was still unknown?

…wait a second Ancient Spell Discovery? When did I learn that?

After looking over the Skills Window many times Alexander sat down, confusion showing on his face.

Weird I don’t see Ancient Spell Manipulation anywhere, is there a glitch in the system or- wait!

Looking at the Skills Window again he found a skills tab on his window labeled Racial Skills. After opening the Racial Skills tab he saw a new set of skills on his skill window.

Racial Skills: Dragon

Depending on certain events or actions this avatar can learn special skills-

Alexander jaws drop from disbelief over discovering that he could also obtain unique skills belonging to the dragon race.

“These are just my skills…I wonder what my stats look like. O-open Stat Window!”

His jaws dropped even further at the site of his absurdly inflated stats.

“H-How is this possible, these stats! I’m practically cheating!”

Looking at his Stats Window again he noticed another detail provided.

Due to the nature of your race you have inherited the power and wisdom along with tireless strength a common trait among dragons.

Tables are a pain and still learning I think I had to redo the tables about...a lot.

Thanks to everyone for reading and let me know what you think

Also like to note the protagonist does seem ahem* a tiny bit op {[999abo}]
