Ch.10
Part 1
"That will be 7 silvers and 84 pieces of copper good sir."
Sighing to himself Alexander pulled out his inventory window as he handed over the requested amount completing the transaction. With the transaction completed the bulging bags he was carrying on his back became a little more heavier as he stored away the many packs of herbs and bandages he had just bought.
"Thank you for your patronage good sir. May you be bless with good fortune."
Hearing the merchant's words Alexander heaved a big sigh.
-Good fortune? Good Fortune? Ha! If that was only the case! Here I am running around like some errand boy because a certain someone yesterday couldn't keep their promise. Telling me eat as much as I want and then telling me to stop? Pftttt. I mean come on I only ate what? A few plates at most and she dragged me out of the place.
-I wouldn't mind having to work for the food maybe for just a few days if she didn't have the money, but no~. She just had to go and grab my arm and take off. Now I'm out here getting all this shit to prepare for our journey because we no have a freaking bounty on our heads!
Ignoring our dear protagonist's ranting let me tell you what had actually occurred.
Dragging his new companion, LunaBells towards the closest restaurant he could find Alexander than proceeded to ordering every dish listed on the menu. He than proceeded to chow down, consuming his food at breath taking speeds. Without pausing he soon ordered seconds while still stuffing food into his mouth. The second serving soon became a third serving, than a fourth serving, than a fifth serving until he had finally ate a whopping total of 7 servings of every dish listed on the menu!
Of course during this entire time LunaBells was desperately trying to stop Alexander going so far as to grabbing onto his arm, which unfortunately left her in a daze as she flew into the air thanks to Alexander's high strength as he brought the fork to his mouth. LunaBells kept tried to desperately stop Alexander a few more times to no avail.
Her face soon paled when Alexander started to order everything on the dessert menu. With super human strength she wrapped her arms around Alexander's arm and dashed out of the restaurant. A cry could be heard as the two raced out of the restaurant.
"But what about my desseerrrtttttt!"
Needless to say Alexander's appetite was abnormal. Even if they were playing a virtual reality game the amount of food Alexander consumed was just insane considering the size of his avatar. The reason behind Alexanders insatiable appetite was simply because he was gradually becoming more in tune with his inner dragon, the appetite of a dragon!
Finished with shopping Alexander left the crowded market districts and made his way towards the tailor's workshop where upon entering through the doors he was greeted by the sight of LunaBells waiting for him with her hands on her hips.
"Just where have you been? You are late! You are so freaking late!"
Oh no, Alexander thought to himself as he grimaced in anticipation of the storm yet to come.
"Why were you so late! I thought I told you to be back here after 30 minutes!"
"Well I-"
"But no~ You just had to take your sweet time. Do you even know how long I've stood here? Just standing here waiting for you?"
"Well no...not really but-"
"3 hours! 3 unbelievably long freaking hours!"
At this point Alexander quietly muttered to himself as he recalled the giant shopping list forcibly pushed into his hands.
"Well maybe if someone here would've given me a hand I might not have taken so long."
"What was that?"
"Uh, I was... just saying how nice you look today. Are those new robes? Blue really suits you."
"Hmph! Don't think your little compliments is going to get you out of this!"
Despite her words LunaBells's cheeks were turning slightly pink.
Although Alexander was complimenting her hoping that she would forgive him, he really was surprised by how great LunaBells looked in her new outfit.
Whereas before when LunaBells was wearing her draping purple wizard robes, a large ugly pointy hat and a wand, she was now equipped with a new set of gears. She was wearing a beautifully made powder blue robe which was sleeveless and had a small hood attached upon request. The robe fit her just right showing off those natural curves as appose to the ugly drape she was forced to wear. A white ashen staff was by her side, a much improved upgrade compared to the stick wand she had before that looked as if someone just lopped off a tree branch and called it a wand, the ashen staff would serve as an additional use as a walking stick for their long journey. She no longer wore a pointy wizard hat but no complaints there.
While admiring the girl before him Alexander barely noticed the silver projectile aimed towards his face.
Quickly dodging to the side the silver projectile that he now saw was a sword passed by him. The poor tailor froze in fear as a sword was now hurdling towards him as he was standing behind Alexander at the time. The sword halted just inches from the now absolutely frightened tailor. The tailor was saved by Alexander's superb reflexes when he grabbed the sword's hilt as it was passing by.
"Tch"
Looking back he saw his companion had a disappointed look on her face.
"What's this?"
"What never seen a sword?"
"Haha, no, I meant why did you-"
"It's a gift"
"Really? Thanks Luna"
A pair of pants, a shirt, and a sleeveless hooded clock landed on my head.
"Here I had the tailor make those"
Smiling deviously Alexander took the clothes off his head and began to change, starting with his pants.
With her face flushing scarlet red LunaBells quickly covered her face with her hands while yelling,
"Not here you pervert! There's a changing room in the back!"
With new clothes in hand Alexander continued to smile while chuckling as he headed to the back of the tailor's workshop.
-5 minutes later-
Tap-tap-tap!
The sound of LunaBells's shoes repeatedly tapping on the hard wooden floors could be heard throughout the workshop.
"Ooh! What is taking that weirdo, pervert so long! I swear, if he isn't out here in the next few minutes I will-"
A tap on her shoulders stopped her in mid-sentence.
"Hey there, I'm all done now so let's go. Oh yeah. Before we go I have to ask, you will what now?"
With a hmph LunaBells quickly retorted,
"I would of ***** rip your **** in a *****! Got a problem with that? And what is whith you always covering your face? Are you that ugly or is it so embarrassing for you to be seen with someone like me?
Alexander took a step back in surprise. He soon started chuckling after his initial surprise faded.
-Whoa, this girl has got some serious back bone. She's got way more guts than I gave her credit for.
"What's so funny?"
"Haha, nothing it's just that you're a little tougher than most of the guys I know"
"OH? So are you calling xzame a boy now?"
"WHAT? NO-no-no-no! I just wanted to say how I like that about you being able to back yourself up.Sorry if anything I said sounded misleading."
"Oh...well since we're apologizing and all I want to say I'm sorry too. I have a short temper so I kind of tend to over react sometimes."
Alexander raised one of his eyebrows.
"Sometimes?"
Which resulted in him running out of the doors of the tailor's workshop and out the city's gate as a very angry LunaBells was frantically chasing after him while constantly sending a few sharp icicles towards Alexander and thus started the adventure of the duo as they ran out the kingdom out towards the open fields as their adventure had finally begun. The two ran off towards the setting sun, venturing off towards unknown lands.
From behind the tailor's workshop a shadow emerged chuckling as it watched the comical sight of the girl cursing while tossing spears made of ice at the hooded man who was quickly making his escape while dodging the incoming spears.
Part 2
-10minutes of venturing off towards unknown lands later-
It wasn't long before LunaBells's stamina was quickly depleted. Mages were well known for their lack of stamina and being fragile glass cannons. Capable of dishing out a hit but not taking one themselves.
-5minutes of venturing off towards unknown lands later-
Flopping towards the ground LunaBells gasped,
"Hey... St-stop running! I-I can't move on...too tired"
"Well I don't really see how that's my problem"
It's been 30 minutes since the two started running from the tailor's workshop to way out towards the open fields of the beginner's hunting grounds and towards their current situation.
"..."
"..."
"Fine, I'll stop throwing my Ice Spears at you. Truce?"
"Truce"
Alexander flopped to the ground as well and thus the two laid there for the next few minutes while watching the setting sun until LunaBells finally caught her breath. As the two kept walking LunaBells turned to ask,
"Hey Alex?"
"Hmm? What's up?"
"I know I'm a mage and how mages tire out real quick, but come on! We were running for like a really long time and what's worse is that you were even dodging side to side the whole time and you're still not breathing hard at all!"
Not wanting to reveal the fact that he was part dragon Alexander replied,
"It's because I finish the basic training."
"Basic training?"
"Basically you just whack a scarecrow all day and it raises your strength and ugh stamina and other stats permanently."
!
"WHAT!? Seriously!? I would of done that if I knew that would happen! So what can anyone do this regardless of class?"
"Yeah mages, priest, you name it anyone can do it."
"Seriously!? Then why isn't everyone doing it!?"
"Well think of it this way. It took me a few hours to raise the stats the first time by 1. After the first few points I had to keep whacking the same scarecrow continuously for a few more hours until my stats rose by 1 again. So just imagine eventually having to spend 8 continuous hours repeatedly whacking a scarecrow."
"8 hours..."
"Yup"
"....hey Alex?"
"Yeah?"
"I don't think you're human anymore"
"...is it because...I'm so awesome?"
"No, it's because I think you're too crazy"
"..."
After a few more minutes of laying down the two got up, however now Alexander was slightly bummed out.
Just as LunaBells was about to try and cheer her gloomy companion a howl cut through the air causing the hairs on her neck to rise. The two slowly turned around to look for the sound had came from behind them.
Just a few meters away the two stood frozen to the spot as they spotted
a pack of eight black wolves right in front of them.
Alexander began to sweat for he was quite worried. Normally he wouldn't be so anxious in such a situation but there was something off about the black wolves. They felt dangerous.
-It's a wide open field so those wolves should have seen us coming ages ago so why didn't they attack? Oh crap! The sun is going down and it'll be night soon! Wait were these wolves waiting for this?
Alexander quickly took out and equipped his new steel sword, a gift from LunaBells, for pretty soon he would be needing it to fight for his life.
The sun was quickly going down and in the darkness of night the black wolves would clearly have the disadvantage as their black fur coat would make it impossible to spot them in the pitch black darkness not to mention the fact that at night monsters became 50% stronger.
Normally, Alexander would not have venture out so late at night, having experienced how tough it was to
fight monsters at night. But since the girl he met, LunaBells was a civilian she didn't have the benefits of a specially modified capsule, thus Alexander waited through most of the day for her to finish up with what she had to do in real life before she could log in. The time he spent waiting for her than planning together and not to mention his three hours spent shopping it's not surprising that the sun was setting by the time the two left the kingdom's gate.
The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
The black wolves were probably attracted to the loud noises of LunaBells yells and attacks during the time she was chasing down Alexander. Monsters usually would start attacking on sight but these wolves decided to stalk their prey while waiting for the time when they would be at their strongest. This behavior was what had caused Alexander to hesitate since only intelligent monsters could act like that and usually the ones that do have a fairly high level.
Even though Alexander was cool, calm and collected while he was analyzing the situation, the same could not be said for his companion.
Freaking out over the number of wolves in front of them LunaBells's mind was in a state of panic. After letting out a high pitched scream as one of the black wolves started to flash it's teeth at her and growl she proceeded to flipping out while yelling,
"Get away from me! Ice Spears! Ice Spears! Ice Spears!"
LunaBells was frantically casting her Ice Spear spells with her eyes shut closed.
"Whoa! Luna Calm Down!"
"Ice spears! Ice spears! Ice spears!"
Alexander was taken by surprise by his partner's sudden attack which made him barely dodge the salvo of frozen spears heading his way.
Two of the frozen spears flew by the side of his face and another by his waist, ripping through his new clothes. Looking at his now exposed skin where the ice spears flew by he could see a faint trail of blood.
"AhhWoooooo!"
The howls of the black wolves finally snapped LunaBells out of her icy rampage as she finally realized what she had done.
"Oh my god! I'm so sorry Alex!"
"It's fine, just focus on the wolves and most importantly don't panic!"
Alexander quickly swerved to the side just barely dodging the outstretched claws of the pouncing wolf.
Despite conversing with Luna his eyes never left the wolves in front of him. A hard learned lesson from his sparring days in training camp where if your eyes start to wander off you'll soon find yourself with a pile of new bruises and sores making the next day of training a complete hell.
While he kept his eyes on the prowling wolves Alexander moved closer to Luna (Luna for short since it's easier on me)
"Hey Luna."
"Yeah Alex?"
"It's starting to get dark."
"Don't worry I got a spell for that."
"Really? That's great! Now that's one less thing I have to worry abou-"
"But...I need um...30 minutes to prep it up"
"Wait you need how long now??"
"I need 30 minutes..."
"..."
Sighing to himself Alexander raised his sword, switching his poster to a guard stance.
"Start preparing it now Luna! I'll buy you some time."
"Okay! Spirits of Ice and Snow heed my call, what I seek are the -"
"Ahwooooooo!!!"
The howls were much louder, startling Luna which interrupted the casting.
We watched as one of the wolves started twitching. It's body was shaking as the muscles suddenly began to grow! As the muscles continue to grow the jet black fur grew thicker and longer. Black steam started pouring out, possibly due to the transformation. The wolf's body soon began to expand in size. The claws grew longer and sharper and it's jaws wider and wider.
Pretty soon the other wolves started to undergo the same transformation. Seconds seemed like hours as the two stood there horrified by the howls as the wolves finished changing. The black steam the monsters were emitting soon built up covering the area in a dark fog. Looking up the two could see eight monstrous beast looking down at them even more intimidating with the black smoke flowing out like a spectral cape made of shadows. It was a pack of Black Lycanthropes! Alexander was an avid fan of old horror films and he could clearly tell that things were about to turn real messy.
"OH shit!"
Speaking about things getting messy there was another potential disaster case waiting to explode right behind me.
"LUNA STOP!"
Alexander's shout woke Luna from her panicky state just in time as she was holding her staff
with shaky hands getting ready to cast her ice spears with her eyes shut tight.
"Luna, are you okay?"
"Yeah, sorry Alex almost freaked out there again."
However he thought differently when he looked at Luna.
-Her body is shaking, she's probably still scare
A sign of another possible panic attack! Must prevent it at all cost!
"Hey Luna"
"Yes?"
"You believe in me right?"
"Well of course. Why?"
"Than believe in me! Believe in the me that believes in-"
"NO! Do not pull a Gurren Lagann reference on me! I get enough of that from my dorky little brothers."
"Haha, fine I'll spare you. But really Luna just focus on casting that spell. I'll keep protecting you so don't worry"
"What makes you so confident that you can?"
"Well I took care of those other bastards(KPM's party and her four muscly stooges) right?
"Yeah, so?"
"So, I'll just do it again. Don't worry about a thing. I'll make sure these bastards here won't even get a chance to lay their paws on you."
Luna felt a faint heat rising form her cheeks as her face flushed a bright red.
For the first time since the whole mess started she felt grateful for the approaching night
since the darkness would be able to hide her embarrassment.
Luna flashed a quick smile that was hidden by the dark as she grabbed her staff with her now steady hands.
She felt strangely comfortable by Alexander's words. They may have only been together for two days but she had complete trust in his words at that moment.
Raising her staff in both hands Luna closed her eyes as she blocked out the distraction around her and began chanting the incantation once again.
As Luna began to chant the last few rays of the setting sun slowly vanished, the darkness that came with the night swallowed the land and the sky and eventually the eight Lycanthropes disappeared from sight as they merged into the pitch black darkness. There was no moon and any lights coming from the stars was blocked out by the dense black fog.
The rustling of grass was all that Alexander could hear as the monsters slowly began to circle around the two waiting for the moment to strike.
Sensing movement from behind, he quickly pivoted his body towards Luna's back while swinging his sword in an upwards reverse slash fending off the incoming attack! Sparks flew as cold steel blade met with knife like claws. The exchange temporarily illuminated the area revealing a set of razor sharp teeth as the beast roared with it's jaws wide open. The light from the sparks disappeared and he was once again facing total darkness. A sudden chill sent Alexander pivoting and dashing right-left-right-left-forward-back and soon he was virtually everywhere, his sword flickering in and out as he hurried to switch to one side after another.
Soon the attacks came from multiple angles forcing Alexander to come up with new stunts to fend off each and every attack. Lunging his blade forward he could feel the blade sinking into flesh and blood causing the attacker to back off while sending a kick behind thwarting off the simultaneous attack.
Sparks started to flash all around as Alexander kept turning, pivoting and swinging his sword in a beautiful yet endless stream of patterns. The sword slashed as the claws and fangs kept coming from everywhere in the dark night. As sparks flew all around Luna kept showing her fierce determination towards completing the spell, she never once faltered for her believe in Alexander was strong. The claws and fangs kept coming faster and faster forcing Alexander to increase his pace once again.
There was not a single moment to rest for Alexander as his body continued to swerve, his feet were constantly moving back in forth turning into a blur as his arms and hands continued to weave an endless chain of attacks as his sword deflected the numerous sharp claws and razor sharp teethes aimed towards not him but Luna! The beasts had quickly understood from the very beginning that targeting Luna would keep Alexander constantly busy giving him no chance to recover.
With a fierce battle roar Alexander continued to dance the dance of death, forming a whirlwind of blades around Luna as he desperately fought to keep his promise, for he had swore to her that he wouldn't let a single one of these furry bastards lay a single paw on her.
His blade kept fending off attacks after waves of attacks as he displayed his superb swordsmanship!
But even Alexander could not perfectly block off every attack aimed towards Luna. There were many times he used his own body to shield Luna taking on the sharp knife like claws directly!
The lycanthropes' claws raked over his head, ripping his hood to shreds as it barely missed his eyes. His new clothes were also quickly being torn to shreds. The wolves kept attacking, their attacks getting swifter and fiercer encouraged by the blood dripping out of Alexander's many wounds.

Blood dripped down his arms. He could feel the warm metallic red liquid pouring out from his many minor wounds.
With his hp now falling towards 32% it was just a matter of time before he would once again be logged out for 24 hours, 4days of worth of RoyalRoad.
His arms felt like lead, his condition started to worsen from the large amount of blood he was losing. Only his vast stamina and his iron like will power kept him going as he fought to keep up with the constant stream of attacks.
Suddenly, a rush of cold air blasted away the black lycanthropes as a tower of blue light pierced through the night. The blue light soared high into the sky, gathering into a ball of blue light. With a sudden bang the ball exploded into millions of glowing snow flakes illuminating the dark fields. Alexander winced as the glowing blue snow flakes fell onto his open wounds letting out a sizzle of white hot steam. With the steam clearing away he looked in surprise for his wounds had healed! The glowing blue snow had healing properties!
A howl full of pain brought back Alexander's attention as he watched the black lycanthropes wreathing on the ground howling in pain for the snow was burning them!
Taking and letting out a deep breath Alexander refocused at the enemies before him. They had made him suffer hell and now that the tables had turned it was his turn to inflict the pain.
The lycanthropes now hindered by the falling blue snow pitifully whimpered before the man approaching them. Soon the last of the lycanthropes flashed grey and disappeared as the blade came and ended its life.
Picking up the loot Alexander walked over to Luna who laid there in the glowing blue snow covered fields exhausted by the awesome spell she had cast.
Even though he had infinite stamina, mentally he was exhausted so he did what any person would do. He flopped down next to Luna and started to move his arms and legs up and down forming a snow angel. He stopped as Luna kept staring at him with her eyebrow raised up questioning him. A chuckle escaped from her lips which quickly escalated into laughter and so the two ended their first night of adventure sharing a good laugh under the night sky, watching the beautiful scene as the glowing blue snow gently fell down the sky covering the wide open fields of the beginner hunting grounds with a blanket of blue snow.
Author's Note:
Finally done typing this chapter out. LunaBells was hiding an awesome skill I wonder what else she was hiding?
Going back to college today so I probably won't have time to keep making stories, as much as I do love making these I need to prioritize... yeah I hate that word too
I will occasionally post new chapters when I have a break or when there's a lack of schoolwork and activities with friends
Thanks for reading, vsinity signing out! {[999abo}]
