Ch. 8.5
Last time our dear protagonist was found heading towards the kingdom's gate ready to embark on his epic adventure where he would eventually slay mystical beasts, find a wealth of hidden treasures and occasionally save a damsel in distress that will join his ever growing non-existent harem of beautiful ladies.
"Ooh~! That sounds awesome! Except for the non-existent harem part."
"So is that what's going to happen next creator?" :)
Haha f**** no! {[999aak}]
"..."
Instead we find our protagonist where we left him, standing outside the city's gate.
There the beautiful scenery of the lush fields of grass and the clear blue sky-
"Well I guess it's not so bad."
-was ruined by the site of blood and gore. As the blood splattered across our dear protagonist's face
he stood there shocked by the gruesome site of blood and guts flying everywhere.
"..."
Alexander?
"..."
Strange...usually he would start cursing at me by now.
"..."
Hey Alexander? You okay there buddy?
"...you"
Yes?
"You callous ***** of a **** ****** ****** and I swear to Freya
if I ever find you I will ***** and ****** to a ***** and-"

Ah~ blissful silence so peaceful. And now back to the story!
As Alexander was being painted by the occasional splatter of blood his feet was planted
as his eyes took on the bizarre scene before him.
There were thousands of players right outside the city gates fighting against rabbits.
The fact that the monsters were actually cute and fluffy bunnies didn't shock him.
It was a one sided massacre and strewn across the fields of lush grass were hundreds
upon hundreds of dead corpses. Losers that met their end at the victories of the winners.
Even this didn't shock him.
What did shock him was the one sided genocide as the bunnies, yes the bunnies
were massacring the players.
He watched as players after players soon began to run towards the safety behind the city's gate. Unfortunately for them the bunnies were just a tiny bit faster than they were. And with cute little hops they proceeded to maul the players throats, their snow white fur stained crimson with blood dripping down their whiskers as they bathed in the blood of their enemies.
...
As time passed Alexander slowly began to see why the bunnies were so strong.
Focusing his attention on a single bunny he started to notice that each time it killed a player it grew larger in size.
As time passed the same bunny after killing 5 players began to get notably more faster and it took only 7 nibbles to finish off one player whereas before it took the bunny 15 nibbles to kill a single player.
Watching the bunnies Alexander made a small theory.
Based on what the other players are saying I'm guessing that monsters during night get stronger.
So maybe since nobody in the Beta had a chance to fight monsters this fact was not known.
Which makes it more likely that the bunnies got stronger during this opportunity.
The bunnies that became stronger through killing players at night then grew strong enough to massacre them during the day.
Based on hearing a few comments based on bits of the conversation of the other players
Alexander had made an astonishingly accurate summary of what had occurred.
The only thing he didn't know was that the bunnies were also hunting down their former predators. The crimson bunnies dyed red in the blood of their enemies gained enough strength that even a level 30 warrior would have difficulty handling just one of the crimson bunnies. After four weeks the highest average level of the players in game from completing quests were between 10~5 so it was no wonder that many players died each day and as the bunnies grew stronger more and more people would soon die just from the beginners hunting grounds. This issue didn't occur again for players starting in other cities as the rumors and news popped up on the gaming channels and on the game forums.
As the sun started to go down the remaining survivors/players retreated back to the city since as night came the bunnies became even stronger. Players had to learn it the hard way on the first night before finding out that monsters became 50% stronger at night.
Alexander missed out on the first few days after his four weeks restriction was lifted because he was hiding from all the players and missed out on some time thanks to the long physical examination. He did receive the warning from the passing players that went back into the city warning him about the dangers of monsters at night and attacking the bunnies is suicidal especially for a level one noob. All the players passing by him thought he was a complete noob for not finding a few quest and gaining a class during the whole 4 weeks. What they didn't know was that Alexander with his training and higher base stats rivaled a normal level 50~60 warrior while being level 1!
Smirking as more and more players passed by warning him about the danger
he quietly waited until there was no one around.
As night came and the full moon appeared the fields of grass was covered in an eerie red glow as the lunar light reflected off the furs of hundreds of crimson bunnies.
Seeing that he was the only player still there Alexander took out and equipped his iron sword.
A gift he received from the instructor. Not being able to equip the other sword probably due to level restrictions he knelt down to pick up a large pebble.
Picking up the pebble off the ground Alexander observed a lone crimson bunny. Flicking his wrist Alexander sent the pebble bouncing off the bunnies head.
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
The enraged crimson bunny started to bounce straight towards him, baring its teeth while letting out its battle cry!
Squeeeaak!
Err...what I actually meant to say was that the bunny let out a very cute battle cry
The crimson bunny was rushing towards Alexander at a tremendous speed. Suddenly the bunny changed directions making a small dash to the right it leaped towards me at great speed from an angle. As the flying fur ball approached closer and closer right before impact Alexander spun his body in the direction the bunny was tackling him at greatly reducing the damage he took.
Using small turns, a few steps here and there and throwing in a couple of spins Alexander continued to let the bunny barely hitting him. The bunny soon charged straight at him enraged by Alexander's tactics. Moving at twice its original speed the bunny charged expecting to slam into his enemy. Instead it only paused to find a sword in its head. The bunny quickly turned grey and vanished.
Flicking his blade Alexander removed the traces of blood on his sword. Looking up after his sword was clean his stare was met with the gaze of hundreds of eyes surrounding him in the grassy fields. A chill went down every rabbits spine as they saw the stranger walking slowly towards them. The stranger had glowing silver eyes and a smile that made his face even scarier.
None of the bunnies moved for they were all transfixed by the approaching stranger's silver eyes. For them it was as if time itself had stopped and everything was playing in slow motion.
The stranger stopped approaching. The stranger had stopped in front of me.
The stranger is holding something shiny. Ow! It hurts! Why am I in so much pain!
I'm scared. It hurts and everything is going black...
With a gray flash the rabbit disappeared leaving behind a small grey wisp of smoke.
As the small wisp of smoke faded time began to move forward for the rabbits.
Anger over the death of their brethren blocked out any fears the bunnies had felt from the glowing silver eyes.
Squeaking their battle cries the bunnies charged at the stranger before them.
From a distance the kingdom's guards were staring out of disbelief of what they were witnessing.
The elven stranger with his eyes emitting a soft silver glow merely smiled before the waves of bunnies.
His sword flickered and disappeared and soon many more grey flash appeared.
With each swing more bunnies fell. Dancing in the swirling madness while smiling under the raining blood of his enemies the elven swordsman continued to swing his sword, dancing in the bloody rain under the light of a full moon.
Alexander was having the time of his life. With every swing he killed 2-3 crimson bunnies. But for every crimson bunny he killed a few more would quickly fill its place. In his excitement from feeling the rush from such an intense battle he swung his sword with more strength.
Ka-ting!
Dumbfounded Alexander continued to stare at the blade-less hilt. His sword had finally snapped under the constant strain.
Waking up out of his daze after taking a few attacks from the endless number of bunnies he tossed aside his useless sword. Rage soon filled Alexander's body.
Opening his mouth Alexander roared beyond what his body should be capable of.
With open bare-hands he charged the army of bunnies full intent on taking revenge for his broken sword.
...
Pshhhhh
The sound of air being released could be heard as the hatch of the capsule opened.
Quietly trying to sneak towards the resting quarters not wanting to be seen Joshua tiptoed towards his room for he had just suffer defeat at the hands/paws of bunnies.
Click
Blinded by the sudden bright light Joshua grimaced as he heard a sudden voice behind him.
"Oh my. Back so soon Joshua?"
"Why yes doctor yes I am."
"Hmm I do recall telling you that the capsules are modified to allow the player to play 1 month straight in real time.
So why is it that you are here after less than half a day dear Joshua boy."
"Uhhh..."
"Since your having trouble remembering perhaps I'll recount what happened for you.
Lets see after screaming to a bunch of bunnies and I quote "Fear me bunnies for I am your bane. I am the slayer of bunnies and you are nothing but my dinner! Bring it on for your death shall feed me!"
Your sword then broke and you proceeded to go bare handed.
After putting up an okay fight a bunny got a hold of your family jewels and you had
your butt handed to you by a bunch of fluff balls."
"...how?"
"The capsules have a recording function and I merely observed your comical display.
By the way I'll be sending the videos as part of your progress report. Seeing as your
logged out for 24 hours and it's rather late I"ll bid you a goodnight."
When the doctor left Joshua sighed to himself
"Man that doctor is seriously starting to get on my nerve."
Having nothing else to do he headed towards his room to get some sleep.
This was originally supposed to be the beginning of chapter 9 but since I'll be busy for the next few days
after some editing it became ch.8.5
Skill and stat tables will appear once I have time.
Broke the fourth wall again and it's starting to become addicting...I shall tuck those moments away for later.
Thanks for reading and to the random anons asking for my chapters....
good luck on finding me for I am wearing a brilliant disguise! {[999abo}]
