Chapter 13: The Dragon's Descendant

Chapter 13: The Dragon's Descendant

Few days later, within the Demonic Tarragon cave, Indra finished healing Zenith. Indra gained this ability after he obtained a fission core in his body, increasing his regenerative abilities and the ability to heal others.

Though physical injuries took him a matter of seconds, healing one's life force was a completely different matter.

The life force's sole purpose was to establish a link with itself and the physical body; and the more it is used up or destroyed, the link will sever and the person will eventually perish.

As a matter of fact, Indra was amazed by Zenith's abilities. His life force was slowly but surely healing on its own, but it would take a few months to another year or so before it completely healed.

Thromier was simply amazed; not just at Zenith but Indra's ability to heal at such an alarming rate.

"Still, don't be so reckless Zen. Using your life force is dangerous." Indra reprimanded him.

"It's not like I had a choice. That long-haired freak's spell was too strong." Zenith replied.

When Zenith had unleashed his twin fiery blaze against Eden earlier, he immediately deployed hundreds of barriers, to reduce the force of Eden's blast, allowing him a chance to use his extreme speed and finish the remaining members of Eden's subordinates and finally Eden himself.

"Just be careful next time. IS...THAT...CLEAR?" Indra replied with an intimidating tone. Hearing him, Zenith nodded his head vigorously.

"You both are like a father and son duo." Thromier chuckled.

"Can't help it can I? Out of us two, he's the most reckless, and a battle freak. Just look at his face."

Indra sighed as he shook his head. Thromier turned her hear around to notice Zenith was bathing in his new victory, and was ready to crave for more.

"It's not surprising, considering he is born a with blood which craves for battle and strength." Thromier replied, causing Zenith to come out of his stupor.

"As I thought..."

"Thought what? What about me?" Zenith asked in confusion.

He noticed both Thromier and Zenith were staring at him, especially Thromier, with pride evident in her eyes.

"You my boy, are one of us."

Zenith blinked his eyes several times at Thromier, unable to comprehend what she just said.

"Me? A dragon huh, wow that's cool.....wait what?!" Zenith stood up in astonishment.

"That's right. You are the descendant of a true dragon." Thromier stated as she roared in pride. Zenith stood still frozen in place and immediately looked at Indra who remained as calm as a clear lake.

"I don't understand…how am I, wait I don't look anything like you guys! I mean I'm a human aren't I? Buddy tell her to stop joking." Zenith stated as he walked up to Indra and shook his shoulders hastily.

"It's true Zen, you are a dragon, though, not completely am I right?" Indra's eyes landed on Thromier who was astounded at Indra's question. Zenith who had heard Indra's reply, remained silent with his head down.

Many questions were present in his mind. He had always stood out differently from other since he was young. His strength and his abilities all were better than those even older than his age. Realizing it, he immediately looked up at Thromier.

"It seems you've finally understood. Not many can fight against a horde of cultivators, especially sorcerers and witches; knowing how their destructive magic can inflict some serious damage." Thromier stated.

Indra walked up to Zenith and placed a hand on his shoulder. Knowing him well enough, Indra imagined the emotional turmoil he was going through. His so-called master might've hid all of this important information from him.

'It must be related to when he traveled here a thousand years ago.'

"I need to be alone buddy; I'll be right back." Zenith slowly walked outside of the barrier not knowing where.

The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

"Was it really important to tell him...now?" Indra asked as he noticed him leave.

"Yes, it was, it seems that he hadn't had the slightest clue about his origin. If did not tell him now, he would be living his whole life as a lie, not knowing who he truly stands out to be."

"I understand, that's a fair point too. Either way, it seems that we are going to be here for a while. Hope you do not mind."

"Not at all. Besides, we have more important things to talk about." Hearing her, Indra remained calm trying to determine her true intentions.

"Don't worry, I have no plans on deceiving you. We dragons are born with pride." Thromier harrumphed.

"Are you sure? You seemed pretty interested." Indra smirked.

"Let's just say, this two-thousand-year-old being has nothing else to do."

"Alright shoot away." Indra surrendered with his hands high.

"How did you know?" Thromier asked. This was truly eating her up, ever since Indra uttered those words.

"About him being one of your kind? Simple I-"

"Don't act dumb. You know what I am talking about." She rolled her eyes in annoyance. Getting answers out of this man was going to be the harder than her giving birth.

"Relax, I was just joking. Coming back to your answer, simple, no dragon could ever look like a human and no human could ever look like a dragon." He stated.

"Again, with the riddles, why don't-" Thromier was immediately, and noticed Indra staring at her seriously, without any sarcasm on his face.

"You're right, we cannot look like them and they cannot look like us, but that still does not answer my question."

"No dragon could ever look like a human and no human could ever look like a dragon. However it might be possible, if one was a human and the other was a dragon."

Thromier was stunned and continued to look at Indra for a full minute without moving. Smart was not even the right word which came to her mind. 'Genius' was what she thought when she looked at him.

"As you had predicted that boy is a hybrid and one of the first to ever exist." She replied.

"But something has been bugging me all this while. How is a human able to consummate with a dragon?" Indra asked.

"Dragon's blood and besides, consummation is impossible." Thromier replied with absolute certainty.

"A true dragon's blood can revitalize a human's body and heal almost all physical injuries. Due to its potency, it must never be consumed at it will destroy a regular human's insides from within." She continued to reply. Indra placed his hand on his chin, trying to understand what she was hinting at.

"That's not always the case though." Hearing her, he immediately looked up, finally widening his eyes.

"Wait, is that possible?" He could not help but ask. It seems that the dragon blood was truly miraculous.

"Do you know why I'm aware that he was not the first, but one of the first? It's because there has been a similar occurrence to what dragon boy had gone through."

"Was it something to do with the mother?" He asked.

"Exactly. A few thousand years ago, my ancestor fought against a human with extraordinary powers. Her powers, rivaling a true dragon's strength was considered legendary. However, while she was fighting our ancestor, some of his blood smeared on her face. Unknowingly a drop of blood entered her bloodstream. Due to her powers, she was able to survive the excruciating pain. But something unbelievable occurred; she became pregnant."

"Wasn't it supposed to heal only injuries? Wait don't tell me; her placenta was already damaged?!" Indra was truly surprised by the turn of events. He now fully understood how Zenith, despite being a human was able to wield the powers of a dragon, and why Thromier was angry and surprised at him for knowing something which would shake many people and would fight to attain such power; through conceiving. There were three types of people who desired power. One who deeply desired it for themselves and would do anything to attain it, such as Meres. The other is those who attain power as a responsibility and are willing to protect others, and the last one, the most dangerous of them all, is through consummating. Knowing that they cannot wield such a dangerous power, if they were to marry a powerful person and conceive a child, they would be able to control them, indirectly displaying their might.

"Precisely. After fighting our ancestor to a stalemate, she left the planet, only to return after months with a child in her hands.

Although he appeared human, there were also two small horns protruding out of the little one's head. Unaware, the little one was holding powers which directly manifested from our ancestor's blood, I hope you can imagine the consequences." Thromier continued, nervously.

Nodding to her reply, Indra could only imagine how much chaos and destruction would transpire should he become an evil being. Many would hunt this man down, to make sure such an existence never surfaced. The possibilities were endless.

"Our forefathers, who shared this story with us, forbade from revealing this to anyone, and I'm telling you this as an exception so I hope you would NEVER reveal this to anyone. Not even to dragon boy. I shall tell him when the time comes. There might be a connection to him and the lady in the story." Thromier replied.

"You have my word. I will never divulge this and keep my promise. So, what happened to the mother and the child?" Indra asked.

"I have no idea. All I'm aware is that she had a secret talk with our ancestor, and whatever they talked has been hidden in those unbreachable rooms." She replied as she turned around and opened a large room.

Within the room, she pointed towards another massive hidden room, which in the beginning looked like an average door. However, upon closer inspection, the door was embedded with multiple spells, strong enough to kill anyone who intruded.

"Since that day, no one was allowed to enter, and had been that way ever since." She mentioned, as she continued to stare at the door.

'It seems there are many mysteries around Zenith's origin. I would have to take a look but why do I feel like this door is calling out to me? Never mind that, have to find Zenith first.' Indra turned around and walked away from the hidden room. Moments after they left, an unknown voice echoed throughout the room.

"Finally, a descendant and a worthy inheritor. The time has finally come" The mysterious voice immediately disappeared as if it never existed in the first place.
