Chapter 10: Request

"Alright, I will hear your request out, however if I find it unfavorable, you will leave this place. If you do not heed my warning, look to your right."

Indra and Zenith both looked towards the right and saw multiple skeletons, bones and ashes spread all over the place.

Indra nodded with a smile, appreciating the dragon's thoughtfulness, instead of driving them away.

"Thank you uh, black dragon."

"It's Thromier, just call me by that."

The black dragon replied, as it locked it's eyes towards Indra and Zenith trying to gauge their abilities.

Though she was not able to discern Indra's strength, she showed a hint of surprise when she noticed Zenith's aura.

It resembled close to their own kin! However her surprise lasted for only a second as she looked back at Indra waiting for his reply.

Noticing Thromier's gaze upon Zenith, Indra smiled, confirming something which remained stuck to his mind for a while now.

"Anyways, our request is simple. Allow me to protect you from the people who are about to arrive here at any moment to kill you."

"And I give you the amethyst crystal, is that correct? Absolutely not!" The dragon vehemently refused.

"Hmm, and here I thought it was a good deal, considering how weak you semeed." Indra said as he sighed in bitterness.

"What did you say?!" The dragon roared this time taking a few steps away from the barrier.

Zenith covered his ears in irritation as this was his second time getting caught off guard by that tyrannical roar.

"Hey you stupid lizard! Why don't you quit yapping with that roar, my ears are going crazy!"

Ignoring Zenith, Thromier stared at Indra in vigilance.

She felt very nervous as she looked at his calm demeanor; as if somebody was able to see right through that barrier and look right through her like an open book.

"Tell me, how did you know?"

You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author.

"I just felt it." Indra shrugged in response.

"That's impossible! This tetra force barrier, has the ability to forbid anyone from the outside to view on the inside, and even erases one's presence and aura for those inside the barrier."

"Hah! Now you know awesome my buddy is you dumb reptilian! But why is she weak?"

Hearing Thromier's reply, Zenith shrugged his shoulders cockily, earning a hard cold glare back in return from her.

"You didn't know? She is pregnant."

As soon as Indra uttered, silence permeated everywhere for a few moments.

The dragon's eyes turned wide, unable to comprehend the fact that a possible intruder was not only able to get his senses past the barrier, but also figure out her main source of weakness.

True dragons are considered one of the strongest beings to exist, along with a huge longevity, and the ability to regenerate quicker than most species.

As invincible as it sounded, true dragons had two major weaknesses.

One was when a dragon went into hibernation, this process would weaken them as they shed their skin, going through a recovery phase.

The next major weakness is when a female dragon is pregnant.

Focusing on nourishing the fetus inside of her, the mother sends her own life force to make sure the baby is born healthy.

Having immense life force drained out of her, she gradually weakens during the process, unable to wield most of her power.

"Wait, wait, wait! That's why you wanted to negotiate? Knowing full well that this lizard was pregnant and weak?"

Zenith finally understood why Indra who was supposedly following the group earlier, suddenly deviate his path and enter from an unknown hidden entrance, and reach Thromier before the other group was able to.

"I felt that, it would be terrible should the mother and the child get hurt. Though I would not be getting anything, I would still like to help." Indra replied.

Hearing this, Thromier finally understood why, but it still felt too farfetch'd for her. However his next reply vanished all her doubts.

"Thromier, though I'm in dire need of that crystal, I am not despicable enough to steal something from it's rightful owner..."

"Human, I appreciate your concern. However, knowing a human's treacherous nature, how I can I entrust my life and my child's life to you?"

Indra looked down in disappointment, hoping that Thromier would at least reconsider, however it was all for naught.

His chances of returning home were now slim to none.

"It's alright. I understand, I won't ask for the crystal, but please let me help you. Zen and I will stay outside and protect you and your baby, is that ok?"

Hearing him, Zenith remained silent. He knew how much Indra desired to go home as this was his only chance.

However he also knew, that taking other people's possessions by force, was neither his nor Indra's creed.

But now, he was willing to help this dragon and it's child without expecting anything in return?

Zenith couldn't help curse at Indra and yet be proud of him.

"Alright."

Indra was surprised at Thromier's reply.

She deactivated the barrier and stepped outside of it, revealing her huge self, with a bulging stomach glowing in orange.

"What?" Indra asked again for conformation.

"I said, alright. I feel like I can trust you. Do tell me your name human."

"Indra" He replied.

"Indra, if you help me protect me and my baby, the amethyst crystal is all yours."

Thromier replied. Indra's eyes widened and looked at Zenith, who rushed towards him and hugged him with all his might.

Noticing them rejoice, the dragon remained still with a smile on her face.

'What an interesting bunch these two are.'

Suddenly all three of their faces contorted, as they read several signatures heading this way.

"Thromier, go inside and and set up your barrier. Zen and I will stop these guys."

"Thank you Indra and dragon boy."

"It's Zenith, you stinking komodo!"

"Doesn't matter you fool!"

Thromier rolled her eyes, as she immediately rushed back inside her safe haven and erected the tetra force barrier, wishing Indra and Zenith luck.

"Hahah, you just can't stop cussing can you?"

"Well obviously, that lizard pisses me off."

Indra restrained his laughter as he heard Zenith curse.

Soon, the cultivators who finished defeating the draconites earlier, appeared and halted their steps in front of them.

"Who are you? Move aside, if you think you are here to stop us!"

Maria yelled as she brandished her sword, along with the others.

"Speak up! Why are you blocking us, do you have a death wish? Do not make me wipe you out."

This time it was Eden who spoke up impatiently waiting for their reply.

"Wipe us out? I only need one finger, to squash you all. What are you staring at imbeciles, come at me!"

Indra smirked as he charged at Eden with full force.
