Chapter 5 - Ki body

Early in the morning Khan was woken up by Shiro clutching tightly to him. She had tears pouring down her face as she slept.

“Mother please don’t leave me alone.” She cried in her sleep.

With his left hand he pulled her head closely to his chest. He gently rubbed the back of her head until she calmed down. This is something Khan has done for Rin many times when she cried over the death of her family.

He remembered when they first met it was awkward as Yaza gave them their congratulations for their marriage. At first they didn’t talk to each other because she was afraid of Khan because of what Yaza has done to her family.

During the first few months Khan always had his guard up in case Yaza decided house arrest wasn’t enough for Khan. Through his senses being heightened from enhancing his body with Ki, he was able to hear Rin cry constantly when she was by himself.

Khan only felt a small ounce of pity for her when he first heard her cry. It gradually became annoyance as she kept crying, but he decided to bear with it assuming that she will stop crying as time cured her pain. Rin didn’t stop crying at all, instead it got worst to the point Khan wanted to just threaten her with death to stop crying.

He didn’t have the heart to threaten her as he was the one who had helped Yaza gain the power to overthrow Rin family. It wasn’t only Rin who suffered from Khan’s action, but the entire world.

Khan saw the destruction he had caused as he traveled the world where his major battles had taken places. The population suffered from their infrastructure being destroyed, No aid from the government for reconstruction, and corrupted officials who were previously in the army that oppressed the people.

His values that was beat into him by the government as a child was slowly unraveling as he began asking himself a question he never asked him something before.

‘What is the reason for my existent?’

Khan wasn’t sure anymore as he was raise for the sole purpose of help conquering the world. When the conquest had been completed he wasn’t sure what to do anymore.

He reached to the level where no one has ever reached in the history of the government. When Khan looked down he just saw nothing, but darkness. He was decorated as a hero and given thanks from the disgusting people of the capital and corrupt royal family.

When he was outside of the capital everyone avoided him out of fear. His name alone made them shake in fear. He knew this, but didn’t blame them for doing so.

Using his connections he was able to find his family. When he found them it wasn’t a heartwarming reunion that most people would have after meeting a lost long relative.

When Khan had found his family he met with his dying mother and two crippled brother with their wives and kids. His family was once a noble family, but his father was killed when he searched for Khan when he went missing as a baby.

The government killed anyone who disobey them with no remorse. They disgraced the family and sent them into poverty.

His brothers were injured when bandits attacked the town in search for food and resources. The government had strictly rationed food and resources to the citizens to build up for the War causing a shortage.

His mother went insane years ago and cursed at him calling him the devil who took away her husband.

Khan’s brothers trembled in fear when finding out their youngest brother was the supreme commander of the government army who had ruined their family. They didn’t look Khan in the eye when they talked and called him my lord instead of addressing him as their brother.

He decided it was best to just walk away not looking back at all. He wasn’t sure what he was expecting by seeing his family before he saw them. After he left all he felt was a bit of disappointment and no sense of sadness.

In the end the only thing Khan got out of the 2 years of traveling the world is that people will either look like disgusting pigs or look like the walking dead.

Not wanting to think any more about the past Khan decided to get up to go find out what’s going on with his body. Yesterday he woke up with no injuries from his Ki center overflowing, but was surprised on how much stronger he was.  He wanted to check yesterday, but didn’t want to risk the chance of his Ki center going berserk.

Khan gently pushes the girls off of him to get out of the bed. Shiro was sleeping peacefully after Khan gave her the small hug. Hana had a smile on her face as drool was still pouring down her face. Khan checked the part of shirt where Hana was sleeping on and saw that she left a huge wet mark on his shirt.

‘She’s drooling like master Yaza when he was waiting for his favorite food.’

Khan just gave a small smile at the girls who picked him just like a stray dog. He left the room to go outside to check his Ki center.

On the way out he met Russell who was standing outside the door as if he was expecting him.

“I heard someone moving in the room I figured it was you from your footsteps.” Russell said with a serious tone of voice.

“I was going outside to get some fresh air for a bit.” Khan replied

“Ok make sure you’re back in 2 hours. Breakfast should be ready by then.”

“Is Shilla cooking?”

“Yes! Isn’t she the best cook?”

“….” Khan just stares at Russell with a bit of fear showing on his face after remembering yesterday dinner.

“Kid I’m still alive aren’t I? You’ll get used to it.” Russell says trying to reassure Khan.

Russell gives Khan a pat on the back as he walked downstairs to head outside of the house.

In the front yard the house had a road leading outside to the main road. They were located in the forest so it was just endless trees surrounding them.

Khan sprinted down the road to look for a secluded place. His body was noticeably much lighter than when he fought against the wolf. Not only that he felt most of his senses were much stronger than before. He could see, hear, and smell further.

Even when he infused his body at the age of 15 his body wouldn’t normally be this strong. The reason much is what happened to this body yesterday. It should explain why his slap was so strong when it wasn’t normally 1/4 of the strength before. He could have easily destroyed the wolf if he had this strength.

A mile down the road came 3 white carriages that looked extremely expensive being pulled by 6 white stallions, 2 for each carriage. The carriages stopped as they saw Khan approaching.

“Who dares to block the prin-----“ The driver screams out to Khan, but was cut off

“Shut up! Did I let you talk you little man!?” The man screamed at the driver.

The man who stepped out of the carriage was a short fat boy around the age of 12. He had blonde hair and blue eyes. He wore jewelry all over his body showing off his immense wealth.

‘He called the driver little man even though he half his height.’

Khan knew that just from looking at him this kid was going to take a lot of patience to handle.

“Prince Mano you shouldn’t go out like that, you have to be careful of assassins.” A man said that was coming out of the same carriage.

The man was around his 50’s and looked as strong as Russell. He was a bit shorter, but when it comes to his build it wasn’t any short of Russell’s.

“I’m the prince of Romati, who dare to attempt to assassinate me? Jun you’re getting too old!” Prince Mano screams out loud.

“That’s exactly the reason why you have to be careful. That kid that blocking us could be an assassin for all you know and he could have people nearby to ambush us.” Jun said to try to convince the prince Mano to get back into the carriage.

“Shut up you think this young boy wearing an oversize shirt as a dress can hurt me!?”

“Yes he can if he was a trained assassin; you can’t judge the books by its cover!”

“Hahaha he still smells like the head maid milk. He couldn’t even hurt me even if I gave him a sword to do so!”

That wasn’t true at all. Even without a sword Khan could easily rush over and snap the prince neck like a twig.

Khan just watched them argue whether he was an assassin or not.  If this was the war zone, they would be dead just by stopping in the middle of the road. If you’re a high value target you don’t stop no matter what. There are some experts Ki practitioners who could hit a target in the targets moving below a certain speed at 100% accuracy.

“Prince Mano please just listen to m----“

“Shut up little man!” Prince Mano screamed at the pleading man.

Khan decided to walk off the path into the forest to not have to deal with this person known as Prince Mano.

“You! Where are you going!?” screamed Prince Mano at the top of his lungs.

“Bathroom.” Khan replied.

“Ok! Come back right away so I can tell you about myself!

Khan walked deep into the forest until he lost sight of the Prince and his carriages. He found a large boulder to sit on to meditate.

He activated [God’s Meditation]. Khan was shocked to see the changes that had happened to his body. His Ki center couldn’t be called a center for Ki anymore. It was only filled with the magic energy known as Mana that Shiro told him about before they went to bed.

His entire body became the Ki center after it was pushed out from the Mana in his original Ki center. It wouldn’t be impossible for this to happen as it was the body was where the Ki came from. Khan was able to learn that Ki is released from the body because it simply can’t handle the Ki.

That was the reason why the people of his world had to open up the Ki gates to force the Ki back into the Ki center to hold the Ki within, but the truth was that the Ki center possibly wasn’t originally made to hold Ki.

This could explain why Ki center in his world was slow to grow and hard to train. There were 3 reasons why Khan was able to reach the master level at half the age compared to the average masters

First was his Ki center was abnormally large to begin with.

Second was [God’s Mediation], which allowed him to suck in Ki at an unbelievable rate and condense the Ki to be more efficient and compact.

Third would be that some people Ki center will stop growing forcing some people to only use their Ki when only needed. The way people know if their Ki center stop growing is when they start to feel pain or discomfort in their Ki center that never goes away. For some this is like death letting them know it’s slowly coming for them.

It seemed like what stopped his Ki center from exploding was that the Ki that was filling up his body was surrounding the new Mana center. The Ki is trying to reenter the Center, but the Mana is pushing it outwards.

It was a constant struggle between the two energies. This could potentially be a good thing as it will help his body train passively as they are both constantly active, but this can been seen as a bad thing because it can limit the amount of power he can use due to the constant struggle between the two.

Khan couldn’t deny it, but he was excited about this new discovery. It was a new world, he as a master who has reached the peak has entered into.

He only felt a small amount of joy when he reached grandmaster Ki class, but only because he was able to break Yaza [Lightning Barrier] to kill him.

If he had broken it to grandmaster when he was with Rin at the time, he definitely would’ve been overjoyed. That happiness from advancing would’ve been short lived because he was much happier with being with Rin.

The only reason why he had decided to attempt to advance to the next level was because of Rin. He told her how he felt about the wall that he has hit for a long time. She told him that he’ll regret not finding out what it was, but he told her it didn’t matter to him. Only Rin mattered to him at the time.

She understood that even though he didn’t want to admit it, he certainly had pride as a master.

Khan wasn’t used to thinking for himself, but because of Rin who constantly kept him questioning himself and asking him questions about different topics.

She tried to break the brainwashing that the government had on Khan. It was already unraveling after the war, but at snail pace. Once he was with Rin his personality took a huge hit.

He didn’t hate it since it was something different from the norm and also the rewards she was giving him made it even more worth it.

Rin however did regret once they installed the training room, Khan would not come out from a few hours to lasting a few days.

She the one who encouraged him to begin training again and then she got mad at him when he trained too much.

Khan just couldn’t understand her at times.

He decided to test out his new found body. Khan got up into a standing position looking at the blue sky.

Khan smashed his fist into the boulder beneath him with all his might. Small cracks formed from his punch going down the boulder.  Khan couldn’t believe his strength even after seeing it for a second time.

Next was to check his Ki Class level. The best way to do this is follow the standard guide that was used throughout the world to measure the current capable of the person.

Of course not everyone was able to follow the guide exactly, but it is human to want to have something that you can use to measure up to.

Khan pictured the table he had seen in the government military guidebook.

Ki Mastery TraineeOpen up gateway to supply body with Ki and develop Ki centerBeginnerReinforce Ki with body increasing strength to part of bodyBasicAble to manipulate Ki to perform Ki attacks that will perform either higher output of damage or certain effectsIntermediateAbility to convert Ki to an ElementAdvanceExpel Ki from the body such as performing range attackExpertAOE abilitiesMasterDebatable, but massive power growth and Easier to convert Ki to ElementGrandmasterUnknown

Lightning formed around Khan’s body as he converted his Ki into Lightning element. Khan was extremely shocked at how efficient it was. The conversion was much quicker than before and the Ki used was barely noticeable at all.

Khan used [Lightning Punch] without charging his hands and was able to successfully perform the move on the boulder leaving much large cracks.

[Lightning Punch] wasn’t as strong as he thought it would be, but the activation and cost were much quicker and lower than before. This is something that would be sought more than power because activation speed and cost reduction are generally much harder to train.

The reason for this is because you have to use your Ki center as the middle man to supply your body with Ki. This means the cost to convert will be higher and the length it takes from your Ki to your outer body will require Ki to bring out the Ki and as it is being carried the Ki loses energy on the way out.

If you have the body as the Ki center then you can cut out the middle man and supply the Ki for your techniques directly from the source.

This is the most efficient way to activate your techniques.

Khan decided this time to charge his hands to see the increase in damage from [Lightning Punch]. He charged his hand with Lightning Ki in his right hand. Lightning statics were forming around his hand. The lightning didn’t go anywhere above his wrist and there was a limit on how much he could charge.

He smashes his fist into the boulder and completely blew it away. His attack was never this strong when he first used it.

Next he used his Intermediate skill [Lightning Pulse] where he smashed his fist together doing an area of effect attack around his body where a dome of Lightning would go outwards from his fist. The ground around him showed the force pushing everything from him to outward direction in a circle.

It wasn’t as strong as he expected it to be. The cost was very high and he felt like it drained him of half his Ki. This wasn’t too bad since he was able to perform the attack without hurting himself and burning out all his Ki.

Khan martial art known as Savage Lightning Style created by Yaza was a unique style. It didn’t follow the guideline to the standards of the normal population as he is able to produce a minor AOE attack at Intermediate level. The drawback is the danger that the lightning can hurt the user instead or even kill them, which happened to one of the survivors.

The Style is new so that meant that Khan is able to produce new techniques with his new found body that would’ve otherwise been impossible.

Everything he has known and followed in the past about the standard isn’t going to apply to him now because of his body becoming the Ki center.

Not only that, but from the amount of Ki he has and the level of attacks he can already perform. It looks like Khan is early intermediate level.

Khan didn’t even reach intermediate level until the age of 15, but now he’s around the age 7 with the same amount of strength with half the age. His body was burning with excitement. Based on the standard table that was used the base line in the government guide. Khan would be achieving the impossible.

Average Age per Ki Level MasteryKi LevelGlobal AverageKhan LaTrainee127Beginner158Basic2111Intermediate3515Advance4417Expert6019Master7233GrandmasterN/A45

For the average martial artist the average age would be 35 years old to reach intermediated. The reason it took so long to advance from basic to intermediate is because the difficultly to convert Ki to an element of your choice. That is when most of the martial artist would stop advancing.

Before Khan was known as a genius, but what about now?

He couldn’t deny that this was extremely exciting to him because of the endless possibly he has laid out in front of him.

Khan decided to follow what Rin said in his dream after he didn’t listen to her the first time, which was to protect the girls.

The decision to pick Rin gave him two nightmares back to back and he wasn’t taking another chance. He didn’t want to admit it, but he was a bit paranoid after those dreams.

He just never had dreams like those that were so real. It was frightening.

Khan decided to walk back to the house. As he walked back he looked to the sky. It was much clearer than before, but not from his eyesight being heightened, but he just felt a bit better than he did when he first came here.

He was still very sad from Rin’s death, but this was the first time he ever felt excited about his new powers.

Khan wasn’t sure if it was normal to change emotions this fast. It could’ve been the girls, his new power, or the new world environment, but he decided to just follow the path and see where it takes him.

He still wish that Rin was here to share his new found happiness.
