Chapter 4 - Paranoid

“Khan open the door please, it’s time for dinner!” Shiro yelled through the door.

Khan had locked the door before activating [God’s Meditation]. Shiro didn’t have the key to open the door so she repeatedly knocked on the door, but got no response from Khan.

Shiro was extremely worried about Khan as he had just recently woke up from 3 days of sleeping.

She decided to get the key from Russell to unlock the door and ran back downstairs to get the key.

Khan slowly woke up from the ruckus she had causes. He felt like his head was splitting into two, but was able to sit up with no issues.

He felt no more pain from the influx of Ki and Magic energy pouring into his Ki center. He wanted to know the reason why, but to get a precise evaluation of what’s happening within his body he would have to active [Gods meditation].

Khan didn’t want to take the risk because he almost just had died.

‘…..’

‘Almost died’ those words kept repeating in his head as he was able to thinking much more clearly.

‘Almost died? Shouldn’t I be dead instead? Is this another nightmare? Or is this hell where I’m going to relive a reoccurring horror scene.’ He became paranoid.

Khan didn’t believe he should have survived from his Ki center overflowing.

He looked around the room, checked under the bed, checked inside the desk, and looked outside the window.

Khan found nothing out of place. He decided to slap himself with full force to see if he can feel pain.

He slowly raised his right hand and slapped himself as hard as he could.

From the force of the powerful slap, his body flew to his left where the window was.

His body smashed through the window and wall, falling from the second floor. Khan’s fell into a tree head first breaking his fall before he hit the hard ground landing on his right shoulder.

Khan could hear bones cracking from the fall.

He was in pain, but it wasn’t as bad when his Ki center was overflowing.

Lying on his back Khan was barely able to stay conscious as he looked at the hole in the second floor he had made.

‘They invited me to their beautiful house, but all I did ruin it by smashing up the wall!’

His mind was all messed up from breaking the fall with his head against the thick tree branch.

He saw Shiro run to the edge of the hole and looking down at him.

“Ah! Khan! I’m coming to help you, don’t die on me!” Shiro screamed while waving her hand desperately at him.

She ran out of the room running back downstairs to get Russell.

Khan couldn’t understand what she was saying.

‘What’s wrong with her, why is she waving at me like that? She trying to say hi to me, maybe I should say hi back. Hi Shiro….’

Khan passed out.

When Khan woke up he was in a queen size bed in a bigger room this time.

Shiro and Hana were crying on the bedside next to him.

Russell was standing in front of Khan with a woman with a small frame who had a gentle motherly look around the age of 50 with blonde hair with blue eyes wearing a robe.

The pain from the fall was gone. It seemed like Russell had healed Khan again.

“Who did this to you!?” Russell asked.

“My right hand.” Khan replied.

“Right hand man? Someone is trying to kill you that close to you?” Hana said with a hint of fear on her face.

“Who is this right hand man of yours!? You brother? Best friend? Guardian? Cousin? Father? Grandfather? Aunt? Uncle? Sister? Ex-teammate? Love Rival? Bully? Neighbor? Ex-girlfriend? Ex fiancé? Ex-wife? Childhood friend whose madly in love with you? Who is it!? Tell me now!” Shiro screamed in anger, not making sense anymore.

Shiro struggled for air as she winded herself from talking too fast and much at once.

“I thought you were a commoner, who are you really?” Russell asked Khan, demanding for an answer.

Shiro climbed on to the bed and wrapped her arms around Khan embracing him tightly with Hana taking the same action as Shiro.

“No! It doesn’t matter I’ll protect Khan no matter what!” Shiro screamed at Russell.

Khan just stared at them as they took this the wrong way and overreacted. He seriously just meant his right hand had causes the accident.

He wasn’t sure on how to explain this to them or even they would even believe him.

Khan decided to keep what actually had happen a secret.

“I’m sorry, but I never said man after right hand and when I said right hand it was just a bad joke on my part. I don’t actually know what happened.” Khan said nonchalantly

Shiro blush as she looked away staring into the wall. Hana blushed and covered her face in embarrassment. Russell just walked out of the room.

The woman who was next to Russell just giggled watching their reactions.

“May I ask who are you madam? Khan asked to change the subject.

“I’m Shilla Rom, Russell wife.” She replied with a smile.

“I see, would you be able to teach me about magic whenever you’re free?”

“Yes I can explain to you it tomorrow and we can check out your magic status.”

“Magic status?”

“It’ll explain the magic you’re compatible with and how much mana you have, but let’s talk about that tomorrow. Let’s go eat dinner. Meet us downstairs when you’re ready”

“Ok thank you.”

Shilla left the room leaving Khan alone with Shiro and Hana who were still blushing in embarrassment.

‘They were so embarrassed from their outburst they forgot to ask me what actually happened. Russell will probably ask tomorrow.’

“I’m sorry Shiro and Hana.” Khan said

“Don’t leave me.” Shiro replied

She looked downward blushing avoiding Khan’s gaze while tugging at his sleeves on his right arm.

Hana doesn’t say anything, but grab his left arm sleeve and nodded as she wiped her tears.

“Let’s go downstairs, I’m hungry.” Khan spoke to them

The girls just nodded.

They got up leaving the room in silence.

When they headed downstairs, the house had a huge living room with a fireplace, study room filled with shelves filled with books, medium size kitchen, and a dining room.

It was a very modest house, that wasn’t too overbearing and good size for a large family. This house was fit to be a minor noble house to live in or a mid-noble vacation house.

Khan went to the dining room where Russell and Shilla were waiting. The long dining table that could fit 12 people was prepared for 5 people with the food already on the table.

Shiro sat on the edge of the table, Khan sat next to Hana with Shilla and Russell on the opposite side.

If Khan was to describe the food, then he would feel pretty bad to have done so because it would be basically insulting the cook.

‘You would assume someone that is able to have a body guard, maid, personal magic teacher, and a modest noble house. She would at least have decent food, but I’m sure I can make better food with one hand tied, eyes blinded, and alcohol levels that would make a man piss himself when he asleep.’

Khan appetizer was a lettuce salad with oddly cut tomatoes. The sauce for was pretty much lemon juice and salt. It was so sour Khan wanted to use Lightning Ki to make sure it doesn’t kill anyone.

He saw that Hana had a huge pucker face from the lemon sauce being too strong for her. He couldn’t deny it was amusing, but didn’t laugh as he didn’t want to offend Shilla.

The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.

For entrée it was an extremely dry steak covered in lemon juice and salt.  If Yaza had just one bite of this steak he would’ve court-martial Shilla for attempted murder.

When desert came Khan feared for his life. It was a plan cake with lemon shavings on stop. You could say it was rather the most unique cake he has ever had in his life.

It was a well-made cake with the right amount of sweetness and moistness. The problem was the lemon shaving on top and inside the cake ruined the taste of the cake.

How can you make something so perfect and mess it up so easily.

Khan managed to finish all the food, but he doesn’t know if he can take anymore of her horrible dishes. Maybe if he destroyed all the lemon it could increase the quality by a small amount.

Russell looked at him expecting him to say something about his wife cooking.

“Isn’t my wife’s cooking the best!?” Russell said with a high level of excitement while faking a smile.

‘Russell probably goes down to the kitchen at night and eats while he wife isn’t looking’

Hana just looked down at the table still struggling to finish her salad with a pucker face.

Shiro was picking out lemon shaving from the cake.

Shilla looked dejected from the lack of response from Khan.

He didn’t want to lie to her about her horrible cooking, but he didn’t want to offend her either.

“To be honest----“Khan was cut off from Shilla suddenly sobbing.

‘I didn’t even say anything yet.’

“My cooking is horrible right? No one here won’t tell me how bad it is, but no one else can cook so they I try my hardest to make good meals!” Shilla said as tears were pouring down her face.

‘How did this escalate so fast?’

“I’m a pretty good cook. If you want I can prepare tomorrow’s meal.” Khan said with good intentions.

Shilla started sobbing harder

“Are you saying a child cooking is better than mine?” Shilla said hysterically

She got up taking the empty dishes to the kitchen.

“Sorry Khan, Shilla is usually a calm person, but when it comes to cooking. She can get out of hand sometimes. When our daughter was a very young child she used to tell Shilla how bad mommy cooking was 5 days out of the week on average. It traumatized her and she became self-conscious about her cooking.” Russell said.

“It’s ok, but let me cook tomorrow. I really do have some cooking skill.” Khan replied.

“I can’t decide that, I’ll talk to Shilla for you.”

“Go take a bath up and get some rest. We can talk about what we can do with you tomorrow for sword and magic training.”

“Ok, thank you.”

Khan left the table and went upstairs to take a bath. The bathroom was as big as the kitchen with a large bath that can fit 6 - 7 people.

The bath felt great as Khan sat there thinking about the last few days.

He felt like the last few days were extremely long.

When Khan first came here, he didn’t want to do anything and just grieve the loss of Rin. He got sucked in by the pace of the young girls.

Compared to a large majorly of people he was much stronger mentally from the way he grew up. It took him 2 days to quickly go through the phases of grieving faster than most people would.

Still Khan couldn’t deny that he couldn’t stop thinking about Rin and how sad he was about her loss.

Khan just stared into the ceiling relaxing his mind.

‘I have to figure out why my own slap almost killed me

Next is what is my going to be my course of actions from now on?

First is Determine what I’m going to do in this world.

Second is Figure out my Ki and magic situation.

I won’t do anything tonight until I figure out more about magic. ‘

Khan increasingly felt increasingly more tired physically and mentally as he continues to sit in the bath enjoying the warmth of the water.

His eye lids started to feel heavy.

He got up and pack on the sleep wear given to him by Russell, which was just an overly large shirt that looked like a dress on him.

When Khan walked outside the bathroom Shiro and Hana were waiting for him in their night wears.

Shiro grabbed Khan’s hand and pulled him toward her room, which was the same size as Russell.

“You’re sleeping with us from now on! Your is room unusable.” Shiro said.

“No.” Khan bluntly replied

“Yes.”

“No.”

“Yes!”

“No.”

“Hana do like we practiced earlier!”

Hana and Shiro held him from both sides. They gave him the irresistible puppy face.

Khan was always weak to the puppy face because of Rin so these two girls would have an effect against Khan, but not as strong as Rin puppy face.

He tried his hardest to resist their stares by closing his eyes.

Both of the young girls forced his eye to be opened by lifting his eyelids with their fingers.

Khan wasn’t going to fall no matter what like the tower is Uriz, which was destroyed by Yaza in a drunken rage after

Khan was promoted to commander.

The girls decided it was time to use their secret weapons. They pinched each other in the butt as hard as they could so tears would come out from their eyes.

It was hard to resist these two adorable girls with their puppy faces added with tears. Most men would have fallen by now, but Khan is not one of those men!

“No.” Khan said with no remorse.

The girls actually began to start crying as they have failed to persuade Khan with their ultimate puppy faces.

Khan felt a bit of pride in himself because he saw defeat against the first puppy face against Shiro.

Shilla came upstairs with Russell after finish cleaning up. The girls had a talk with Russell and Shilla beforehand to allow Khan to sleep with them. It took them 2 hours, but they were able to receive their consent.

Shilla guessed what was going on decided to get revenge and help out so she can go to sleep.

“Khan if you don’t sleep with them I won’t teach you magic and won’t allow you to cook tomorrow.” Shilla said.

‘She Ice cold’

“Fine.” Khan replied in defeat.

Shilla and Russell went into their rooms, but he could hear them laughing at Khan through the door.

Shiro and Hana cheered in happiness.

Khan laid there in the middle of Shiro bed. Shiro was sleeping on his right arm with Hana on his left arm.

He wasn’t so sure on why the girls were so attached to him besides saving them from the wolf, but they shouldn’t be this attached.

Khan decided to ask Russell tomorrow.

He laid there in bed for 2 hours thinking about Rin even though he was extremely exhausted.

Khan shed a few tears before his eyes finally shut from exhaustion.
