Chapter 1 - Fake Hero

As Khan stared into the blue sky he was thinking about Rin death and the “if” scenarios that could’ve changed the outcome of whatever Rin lived or not.

‘If I just stayed in bed, then I would’ve be able to protect Rin’

‘If I taught Rin marital art like she ask, maybe she could’ve protected herself till I came back to the room’

‘If I kept my guard up, then I would have been able to detect the assassin before he attacked’

The more he thought about it, the angrier khan got and started to blame Rin death on himself.

He knew thinking about it wouldn’t change anything, but he didn’t know what to do or think about.

At first when he woke up yesterday he went into a depression all day and not wanted to do anything.

When night came the tears just poured down his face wouldn’t stop until he fell asleep as he thought about Rin and the memories of the short time they spent together.

In the morning when he woke up Khan just couldn’t cry anymore and went into denial trying to believe that this was a dream and that this can’t be happening to him.

When the girls picked Khan up to carry him to their home, he began asking himself questions such as:

‘Why did this happen?’

‘What if I did this and that, maybe it would’ve made a difference‘

‘Who is to blame?’

Anger begun boiling up in khan, but who is he to direct his anger at?

The assassin sent just to kill Rin is dead

Yaza who sent the assassin is dead

Should he be mad at himself for not stopping Yaza before this happened?

He knew Yaza was up to something, but he didn’t make an attempt to figure out what his mentor was planning.

Khan just happily spent those 2 years under house arrest with Rin while training.

He felt like his head was going to blow up. He didn’t know how to cope in this situation as this is the first time he felt extremely sad about someone death.

He was raised in an environment where death was a common thing since he was kidnapped as a baby.

No matter where Khan went there would just be people always dying. He didn’t even feel a thing about their deaths.

So why should he be sad over one death?

Shouldn’t he be sad about the thousands of men he personally killed himself?

Or the hundreds of thousands of men that he sent his men to kill?

Khan tried to justified himself by saying he never killed when it was unnecessary, but did that really make a difference?

He never harmed anyone who was innocent, but in the end he was still killing men and women of the other nation armies who had were just protecting their home country.

They fought to protect their families.

Khan fought because he ordered to.

“Ahhh!” Khan screamed at the top of his lungs not wanting to think anymore.

“Kyaa!” screamed the girls in unison from the sudden scream.

Khan was dropped to the floor as the girls fell back from being startled.

“You scared me!” Shiro screamed at Khan

The other girl Hana who was Shiro’s maid started to softly weep from being startled

Khan didn’t reply back to the girl and laid there still staring into the sky

The girl just looked at Khan and pouted

“Ok Hana it’s break time! Let’s find some flowers for mother!” Shiro says to Hana.

“Okay!” Hana replied quietly while wiping off her tears with her arms.

The girls skipped around Khan picking up flowers off the ground. When they finished they came back to Khan with flowers in their hands.

“Hana help the boy sit up!” Shiro says to Hana

“Okay master!” Hana responds back to Shiro while giving her the flowers

Hana helps Khan up into a sitting position with Shiro holding the flowers in front of him

“Look! These are the flowers that we got for mother! Aren’t they very pretty?” Hana excitedly says to Khan while holding out the flowers toward him.

Khan doesn’t respond back, but just nods

“Look he responded Master!” Hana says happily in response to his nod

Shiro just puts on a big smile

“Here we picked some out for you too!” Shiro says while holding out some flowers for Khan

Khan just stares at the flower and then looks back at Shiro. She just stood awkwardly waiting for him to grab flower

“Please take the flowers; we got them just for you.” Shiro pleaded with a puppy face

Shiro’s puppy face reminded Khan of Rin’s puppy face whenever she wanted him to give her a massage or cuddle longer before heading off to train.

He felt himself struggling to resist against her adorable puppy face. Khan finally grabbed the flowers and stared into the ground avoiding her gaze.

“He took the flower! Hehe” Shiro said to Hana

Hana didn’t respond back to Shiro her face was frozen in place.

Khan felt her hands trembling on his shoulders.

“What’s wrong Hana? Shiro asked as she turned around to see what was causing Hana to freeze in fear.

In the distance was a lone wolf prowling toward them. The wolf had grey fur with a scar going through one of its eyes.

Shiro dropped the flowers and her legs began to trembled

“Hana run with the boy!” shiro pleaded in desperation

“No master I will never abandon you!” Hana replied

Hana grabs Khan and pulls his to face her. He saw tears and snot pour down her face.

“I have to stay with master, you have to run away!” she begged him in a wobbly voice.

She got up and went to Shiro side. Even in the face of fear the girls still thought of each other and were willing to sacrifice themselves for a boy they just met.

Khan was moved by this scene. He never had anyone protect him like that. Everyone always looked up to Khan as almighty.

They never felt like they had to protect him even during assassination attempts during the war, but here these two girls who were around the age 6-9 with no Ki would lay down their lives for him.

He couldn’t deny it, but his pride was hurt. He was one the greatest master who reached a level of Ki Mastery that no one ever reached.

He never felt so pathetic in his life; yet he also felt happy to have someone to lay down their lives for him for the first time.

Khan got up, he made his resolution.

‘I’ll sacrifice my life instead so these young girls ca-----“

Before he can finish his thought his eyes became fixated with Hana hands.

She had her hand raised up facing toward the wolf as it inched closer to them.

“[Fireball]!” Hana screams out at the top of her lungs

A small ball of fire formed around at the palm of her hand and flew toward the wolf.

The wolf doesn’t dodge at all and the fireball flew past the wolf and hits the tree behind it setting it on fire.

Shiro and Khan stared in disbelief at Hana

Khan was shocked at what had just came out of her hand as it didn’t feel like Ki

Shiro was shocked at the fact that Hana casted [Fireball] with her eyes closed

If this was practice Shiro would’ve laughed till she started crying, but this wasn’t really the moment to do so.

She raised her hand toward the wolf just like Hana had done.

“[Ice Shard]!”  She screamed.

A small shard of ice formed from the palm of her hand and flew at the wolf.

The wolf charged forward to them as the [Ice Shard] flew toward the wolf, but dodged by jumping to the left avoiding projectile.

The wolf was too fast for the either girls to cast another spell.

Khan ran past the girls and lunged toward the wolf. The beast opened its jawed waiting for Khan to get within range of its fangs.

It took a fierce bite at Khan expecting to shallow up the kids head, but only got air.

Khan barely dodged by predicting the time and attack of the wolf, but he was able wrap his arms around the neck of the wolf and lock the jaw of the beast by squeezing his legs around it.

Khan tried to reinforce his body with Ki, but failed. He was able to feel the Ki, but just couldn’t do anything with it.

He was barely able to hold to the wolf head as it tried force him off by swinging its head violently.

The wolf ran to the nearest tree swinging its head at full speed into the trunk. Tree barks fell to the ground from the impact of Khan’s body hitting the trunk of the tree.

He heard the cracking of his bones. It was so painful he wanted to scream, but he was trained as a child to never scream no matter how much pain he was going through.

Khan didn’t loosen up his grip on the wolf as he mind began to fade. He subconsciously released Lightning Ki into the wolf before fainting.

----------------------------------------

Khan looked around in confusion. He was in his mediation pose in the tent that had he prepare for the night before the final battle against the countries Halze, Yamal, and Poratory.

His tent was just how he remembered it. There was a mat on the floor to meditation on, queen size bed on the left side of the wall, his sword and spear in the right side of the room on the rack, and commander uniform and battle armor hung up neatly next to the weapon rack.

‘I was just fighting the wolf, what’s going on?’

Juki walked into the tent with two soldiers following behind him.

“Major Juki reporting in.” Juki states as he salute to Khan

“Juki you’re alive!?” Khan said in shock.

“Commander this isn’t the time to be joking. We have an emergency!”

“Major Juki what is your report?” Khan responds; deciding to follow along.

“The enemy army is bigger than we thought and the enemy has hostages, which includes the princess Rin!”

“Major Juki prepares all units to march out. We’ll begin the offensive in a few hours!”

“Commander we should w-------“

“Major Juki, who do you think you are talking to right now? Do I have to repeat myself?”

“No Commander!”

Juki exited the room with the men following behind him. Khan couldn’t believe what was happening.

First Juki is alive, but Khan killed Juki 2 years ago when he tried to rape the princess of Gayle

Second Juki told him that Rin was still alive and held captivate by enemy forces

Khan got up equipped his black battle armor and wore his long sword on his right side of his waist. With his left hand he picked up the long black spear with a special black steel tip and rested it on his left shoulder.

He exited the tent unwilling to wait any longer to see Rin. Khan mounted the black stallion that was always prepared in front of his tent being watched by a non-officer soldier.

His camp site was the biggest out of the other generals since Khan led the main forces. The tents were laid down side by side with the officer’s tents located in the middle of the camp.

Soldiers were hastily moving toward the front line and saluted to Khan as he rode past them.

When Khan reached the front line that battle had already unexpectedly begun

There were explosions of the different Ki elements all over the battle field. The bodies were piling up while men were continuing to swarm from both sides endlessly.

Major Juki and other officers saw Khan and rode up to him to pay their respect to an higher ranking officer by saluting.

“Major Juki Report” Khan screamed with a thunderous voice

“Commander, the enemy has launched a surprise attack while we were preparing formations. The battle is currently even.” Juki reported in a toneless voice

“Continue to insure that all men get on to the battle field while I personally lead the troops on the battle field myself!” Khan commanded Juki

He rode off to join the battle with thousands of cavalry troops following behind. The earth rumbled as they charged straight toward the enemies.

Khan unsheathed his sword to his right hand while he held his spear in the other hand. He charged the sword and spear with [Lightning Infusion] granting them lightning attributes.

Enemy troops started retreating from the cavalry charge while arrows were fired from enemy lines to stop the government army from chasing

The barrage of arrows filled the skies blocking out the sun, but that didn’t stop Khan from continuing his charge.

Every time he swung his weapons he would release a [Lightning Wave] that would send a Lightning wave in an arc going straight to where ever direction he swung at.

Enemies were falling from the hundreds every time he swung his weapons. The few that remained were picked off by the cavalries following behind Khan.

An enemy cavalry came charging from the northeast. Khan held his spear forward locking his arm in place bracing himself for impact.

He couldn’t use [Lightning Wave] in that situation as the one that led the enemy cavalry was also a master class. He would’ve just blocked Khan’s attack with his owns.

When the two cavalries collided Khan’s spear rips right through the enemy master spear piercing right into his heart. Khan didn’t stop there and continued to hold his spear in place piercing 2 more men behind him.

There were three bodies stuck on the spear so he just released the spear and continued to swing [Lightning Wave] with his sword.

The remaining cavalry broke off from the loss of their commander and tried to retreat, but were slaughtered from the incoming cavalry that was still charging at top speed.

Once Khan reached to the top of the enemy lines he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. There were young child and women holding the fallen soldiers crying.

Even with the momentum of the cavalry reduced from going uphill. He still couldn’t stop and ran through the lines of the women and child.

He heard the screams as they were trample over and picked off by his cavalries.

Khan felt a pain in his heart that he never felt before, but he couldn’t just stop because of that. He needed to see Rin no matter what.

They continued on to the enemy fortress with no resistance.

He dismounted in front of the fortress and entered without any enemy forces to confront him.

When Khan made it to the main hall he was in disbelief as what was happening

There were three [Lightning Barrier] surrounded by the same formation in the castle

The first barrier had Rin standing in the middle

The second had the Shiro and Hana crying in the middle holding each other

The third barrier was much more powerful than the other two and inside was Yaza chanting

“Rin!” Khan screams out

He flashes in front of the cage using [Lightning Flash]

“Don’t worry my love I’ll save you!” Khan says to her desperately

“No save the girls!” Rin pleaded to Khan

“I can’t… I have to save you I can’t lose you again”

“Why don’t you listen to me? You have to save those girls!”

Juki comes up from behind

“Commander we have to stop Juki, if he finish this ritual he will be killing hundreds of thousands citizens in the major cities” Juki reports to Khan tonelessly

Khan couldn’t take the risk. Yaza has himself in a high level [Lightning barrier] while Rin and the girls were in weaker barriers that he has a high chance of breaking by force.

He couldn’t do it; he didn’t care about everyone else. What if he attempted to break Yaza barrier and failed then Rin would die!

Khan ripped through the [Lightning barrier] with his bare hands and picked Rin up in a princess carry.

He looked at the girls one more time and the pain in his heart grew heavier.

“You’re no hero!” Rin screams at Khan.

She slapped him and everything went black.

When Khan opened his eyes he was in the bedroom that he stayed with Rin. He was lying in bed with Rin sleeping next to him.

‘Was this all a dream?’ Khan thought to himself

He touched her face with his fingers and kissed her. She woke up and had a sleepy face.

“What’s wrong baby?” She asked while half asleep

“Nothing my love”

“Okay! Well just know I’ll love you and I’ll always be here”

“Thank you my love, I’ll always love you too”

“Goodnight my fake hero”
