All combat armour forged by Belessar has six components:
1. Bodyplate: Covers everything from the base of the neck to the groin, including the torso and shoulders.
2. Helmet: Covers the head and neck.
3. Greaves: Upper leg protection, from the hip to just below the knee. Covers the thigh.
4. Boots: From the knee to the feet.
5. Braces: From the shoulderblades to below the elbows. Covers and protects the upper arm.
6. Gauntlets: Cover the hands and extend up to the elbows. Protection for the lower arm, hands and fingers.
The helmet, greaves and braces can snap-fit into sockets on the bodyplate, with suitable flexibility for necessary rotational movement. Similarly, gauntlets fit to the braces and boots fit to the greaves.
Armour can be produced in standard sizes (small, medium, large, extra large) or - if measurements are available - to custom fits, without any variation in MP (although raw material quantities may change).
If all six armour components are of the same design, they serve as 'Integrated Armour' i.e. the armouring material dissipates damage evenly across all surfaces, holding or breaking as a single unit.
So far, Belessar has forged and used two types of armour.
Nanofibre Weave Combat Armour:
Armour Points: 400
(This is how much damage the armour can take before it breaks.)
Damage Negation: 10
(Attacks that do less than this much damage are outright ignored. A punch that does 8 damage will have no effect on the armour. A punch that does 12 damage, however, will do full 12 damage to the armour.)
Damage Reduction: None.
(This is the default reduction to any damage done by an incoming strike. 5 damage Reduction would reduce the damage from an incoming 15 damage attack from 10. Damage reduction applies before damage negation.)
Armour Bonus: 50% cost reduction to the Evade Blows skill.
(Many armour sets have special bonuses to certain skills. Nanofibre Weave bends easily and flexibly with the user's movements, supporting a swift, agile form of fighting - a great solution for a martial artist!)
Powered: No.
Empty Weight: 20-35 kg, depending on user measurements.
Primary armouring material: Nanofibre weave.
Carry Capacity: No boost.
(This is how much extra weight the armour allows you to carry, over and above what you could normally carry, especially in the case of powered armour)
Height: Adds 3-6 inches to the height of the user.
Boar Class Combat Armour:
Armour Points: 1,000
Damage Negation: 30
Armour Bonus: Enables special skill 'Boar Charge'. 100% boost to speed when charging at a foe. Does 3x damage of Bodycharge. Range: 200 feet.
Powered: Yes. 1 Heavy + 3 Medium Power Packs.
Primary armouring material: Fullersteel.
Empty Weight: 60 kg.
Carry Capacity: Increases current carry capacity by +50 kg.
Fire Resistance: 25%.
(Any fire or heat based attacks have their effect reduced when they hit. This effect applies before damage negation, so a 40 damage fire attack would be reduced to 30 and then outright negated by the Boar Amrour. Made possible by thin channels of high-conductivity fullersteel alloy running along the suit surface, which push heat to a heat sink which is coupled with a high-capacity refrigerant loop. Heat load callculations classified.)
Height: Minimum 8 feet.
Component Slots: 2.
(Powered armour can fit additional components that can enhance its capabilities, such as personal shield generators. However, these have to be discovered and custom-built.)
Two more types of combat armour are known to Belessar - Khichdi combat armour and fullersteel layered armour - but they aren't integrated combat armour, so he prefers to use Nanofibre Weave instead.
