The Genetic Heroes - Part 3: Eric
Prologue: Germany 2007

Prologue: Germany 2007

Dr. George Varnie was working at his desk. He had short black hair with streaks of grey. He had one blue eye and the other was dull brown. The dull brown was behind a scouter looking eyewear. He was writing something on his computer inside of his dull brown and grey office. The office was warm and had German rugs as well as a few robots on his desk. One of his men walked in and called for Varnie’s attention.

“The Korean couple are informed of the ‘special task’.” he said.

“Excellent.” says Varnie. “Where are they? I will meet with them myself.”

“They are in the factory lines waiting for your arrival, sir.”

“Excellent,” he replied. Varnie walked out of his desk and headed for the elevator. The elevator was grey and brown and looked like it was made of an expensive metal. The elevator took him down four floors and arrived at the basement level where the Korean couple were. There was a Korean man with dark black hair and a Korean woman with long black hair. They both wore the white trench coat and Varnie Tech jumpsuit under, which was what they were required to wear.

For context, the woman's name was Ari and the man’s was Kim. Their last name was Yun. These two were math and tech geniuses that applied for a high salary job in Germany as they could speak German. Ari had recently been pregnant and had recently given birth to a child. Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to attend to her child due to long work hours. Not only that, her husband was inflicted with an illness. He needed to take very expensive antibiotics in order to stay healthy. The illness was getting worse with Kim vomiting blood at times. The two faced Varnie as he walked inside.

“Hello Mr. and Mrs. Yun.” Varnie says.

“Hello sir.” says Ari. “You called us for a special job.”

“Test subjects of my new weaponry system.” says Varnie.

“Weaponry?” asks Kim. “Is it dangerous?”

“Yes,” says Varnie. “It’s very dangerous.”

Kim and Ari were shocked by what was happening.

“We don’t want to test your weaponry system, sir.” says Kim. “We have a son and- Blaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.”

He coughed up blood and collapsed onto the floor where Ari came to comfort him. She took off his lab coat and used it to wipe the blood. It became covered in splattered blood.

“Well,” says Varnie. “You don’t have a choice. If you quit, I will fire the both of you. You won’t have jobs so your stupid child will die and Kim will die too because of his illness. I’ll be putting you out of your misery.”

“No.” says Ari. “You are crazy. Kim and I will stay with our son wherever we go.”

“And who’s that?” asks Varnie.

“Eric.” she said.

“You- You need us, our smarts, we are responsible for some of the most amazing tech at this company.” says Ari.

“Nope.” says Varnie. “I’m smarter than the both of you and I already have your fantastic designs. One is fat from pregnancy and the other is close to death. You two are useless.”

“Don’t you have a heart!” yelled Kim. “What about our son?”

“I don’t have a heart,” says Varnie. “GUARDS!”

Varnie’s men surrounded the two and kicked them onto the dark grey conveyor which led to a concealed space which was a metal box with a glass window to see what was happening inside. Kim and Ari were being loaded onto the conveyor belt. They looked up when they were inside of the box when guns of radiation started to blast into the box. This radiation made an orange effect as the two Koreans started to melt into human goo.

“Stop!!!!!!!!” Varnie yelled. The guards had turned the machine on with a switch. They flipped the switch off and the radiation stopped. The once Korean geniuses were now melted down to nothing but mush. Varnie looked at them and then walked back to notice that Kim’s lab coat was on the ground.

“Should we burn it sir?” asks one of his guards.

“No.” says Varnie. “Let’s send it to Eric as a nice gift.”
