Onoda High School

My name is Eric, on the outside. I may seem like a Korean nerd who is constantly simping for women but I am a lot more on the inside. I have a fantastic best friend named Jordan who is passionate and always up for adventures. I was walking to school and wore a green sweater along with brown khakis and nerdy looking glasses. I had short black hair and was holding my books in one hand and wore a backpack on my back. I arrived at the school. Jordan was leaning on the wall when he noticed me. He wore black pants, a white overcoat and a black t-shirt with a white snowflake on it. A secret about Jordan is that he is the son of a user of cryokinesis and can use cryokinesis, pretty cool huh?

“Hey.” he said, coming over.

“Hey Jordan.” I said. “Ready for another day of school?”

“Yeah.” he replied. The two of us walked and headed for our first class with Ms. Stone. It had actually felt just like old times because of Jessica and Martin’s absence. We walked through the blue and white hallways of Onoda High, our school. We went up the elevator and to the third floor to our class. Ms. Stone’s class has the same colours as the other classes, a brown desk, white chairs and desks for all students. It was mostly filled with students. Ms Stone had her grey hair wrapped in a bun and had glasses and wore a black shirt and a red skirt. The two of us sat down in the chairs and waited for further instructions. Ms. Stone began to teach the class about some algebra crap I already was good at. She began to write equations on the board. You’d probably find them boring.

I know Jordan did. He always does. He slept in class and everyone else tried to doze off as I raised my hand for every single question to solve. I don’t mean to brag, but I was born prodigy smart with an IQ of 195. I always make sure to note everything I see. I try not to show my smartness in some scenarios because it seems annoying to… dumb people.

“Wow, Eric,” says Ms. Stone. “Looks like you answered all the questions again.”

“Should I have not?” I asked.

“No. No.” says Ms. Stone. “Just read a book… let me ask some others.”

“Alright cool.” I said. I pulled out a book about technology and formulas with chemicals. I am obsessed with technology. At my house, I have loads of tech that I managed to get by becoming friends with tech store owners and being involved with the community. I pulled out a book and started to read.

“You are so smug.” Jordan says. As Jordan suffered in his math class, I want to tell you how I met him in the first place. It was when I moved to Onoda. I came into the class of Onoda Elementary School. My goal was to experience what I had seen on TV and around, a family and a time at school. It sounds weird but I can explain more later. I had come to school as an 8 year old and studied the first periods and then it came to lunch time. I was alone and I didn’t bring the right food, I actually brought a platter of food. I was upset because I wanted my food to look like the other kids. It was then that Jordan Glaciov sat down next to me. At first, I was shocked about his white hair and whenever I brought it up, he always would make jokes about himself being an old man. He shared his sugary treats with me and we had been friends ever since.

It was lunch time, so the two of us sat down at a table and we began to eat our lunches. Jordan was just looking at his phone and playing games on it. Jordan glanced over at a table and I looked over at that table. As I turned, I heard girls giggling about something they had been speaking of. It was actually Avery, whom I had a massive crush on. She was talking to her friends. Avery had long blond hair, brown eyes and white skin. She wore a white blouse and a pink skirt.

“You should make your move,” says Jordan.

“Excuse me?” I asked.

“Yeah.” says Jordan. “Don’t you like her?”

“I do but…”

I had bever been very good in social situations. That was something my 195 IQ couldn’t fix. I felt like a ghost when it came to social interactions, unless it was with someone I knew. I wanted to talk to Avery properly for a while now. So I had decided I was gonna talk to her. I got up from my seat and walked forward. Jordan turned from his phone and went to watch me and Avery giggled as I walked over. She turned to me,

“Hey nerd.” she says.

“It’s Eric actually.” I said.

“Eric.” she says, glancing at me. “What do you need?”

All of her friends stared at me like gooses, waiting for a response. I hesitated and sweated a bit and then took a deep breath and then spoke. I turned red.

“I have had a crush on you for a while and I want to know if you would go out with me?” I asked.

She was shocked and then smiled.

“Eric, I am flattered.” she spoke. “But I have a boyfriend.”

I was shattered.

“I am sorry.”

Truth is. I knew she had a boyfriend, I just wanted to see how she felt about me. She just rejected me. I looked down and walked back to my table and sat down next to Jordan. I looked at Jordan and he just started to laugh.

“What’s so funny?” I asked.

“I knew she'd reject you.” says Jordan. I slapped him.

“You know how I feel about her. If you knew she would say no, then why’d you make me ask?”

“Because it’s funny,” says Jordan. I got up and walked away from him. I picked up my lunch and left the table. I didn’t want to talk to Jordan. He was being a jerk today. I said he was my best friend and that was true. I was just mad at him about this and I didn’t know why. It was maybe him ignoring me to facetime Martin and his new girlfriend. Can you believe that? How could a dope and failure like Martin get a girlfriend and I can’t?
