We landed inside of the airport and Jordan and I, wearing backpacks, walked out of the airport to see a car ready for us at the arrival area. Our backpacks carried some quick gear for these types of missions provided by AGENT and I also brought along my bloody trenchcoat and parent’s journal. This car was a black BMW and looked fancy. It had butterfly doors. A slender and muscular man with a black suit and white shirt and black tie stepped out of the vehicle. He wore shades and was grabbing our attention by waving. We walked towards him.
“Komm her, Jungs,” he said.
Come here guys.
“I’m sorry,” said Jordan. “I don’t speak German.”
“He wants us to get in.” I said. “I speak German.”
The man then showed us his AGENT ID card. He had brought it up from his pocket and when he showed it to us, he pulled it away. He opened the doors and we got inside. Eric got in front and I sat in the back. The man got in the driver seat and we pulled away from the airport. He started to drive.
“Sprechen Sie Englisch?” I ask.
Do you speak english?
“Yeah.” he said. “I am Charlie of AGENT. I will be your AGENT reference and helper for your mission.”
“Do you know our mission?” Eric asks.
“I do.” he says driving. “You want to get more info on your parents and also Varnie Tech.”
“Do you know Varnie?” Jordan asks.
“I had a run in with him in Paris,” says Charlie. “He had set up a clone to talk to one of his associates within Phantom, Adrian.”
“Paris?” Jordan asks. “You know Martin?”
“Yeah,” he says. “You guys his friends?”
Jordan and I nod.
“That’s great. He’s a really cool guy.”
“Yeah.” I said. “Do you know where you are going?”
This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
“Nope.” says Charlie.
“Let’s head to my parents' apartment first.” I said. I pulled out my phone and found the address and handed it to him. Charlie parked the car on the side of the road and looked at the display on my phone, featuring the address of my parents' old apartment. He brought out his AGENT phone and put the location on there so he could drive. I put the phone away and relaxed in my seat as Charlie drove with the location.
…
He arrived at my parents' apartment. It was an apartment building located a little outside of Munich. It was run down and old. The apartment tower itself was 50 metres tall or so and was beigy brown. It had windows with cracks and cracks in the building had begun to appear. Charlie parked the car outside and the three of us stepped outside. Jordan tossed his bag and I kept mine as we walked inside of the reception. An old man was there,
“Willkommen in den Wohnungen." The old man asks. "Wie kann ich helfen?”
Welcome to the apartments. How can I help?
I immediately responded.
“Ich bin Eric Yun." I said. "Ich suche die Wohnung meiner Mutter und meines Vaters.”
My name is Eric Yun. I am looking for my mother and father’s apartment room.
The old man pulls out a book and a key box from the drawers and locates the Yun’s. He is shocked when he notices they hadn’t checked into their apartment since 2007.
"Es ist irgendwie alt.” he said. "Sind Sie sicher, dass Sie einen Blick darauf werfen möchten?”
It’s kind of old. Are you sure you want to take a look?
“Ja.” I said.
Yes.
The old man hands the keys which say the exact floor and room my parents lived in. He hands the keys and I take them and hold them dearly.
“Thanks.” I said. The man smiled. The three of us went to the stairs and climbed towards room 401. We climbed up 4 floors to arrive at the stinky old halls. The halls were a beige and brown colour and had the wallpaper not taken care of and holes and spiders were visible everywhere. I walked towards door 401 and put my key inside. Charlie and Jordan were behind me. I opened it up and we walked around and saw the place full of cobwebs in the ceiling. Some of the food was ravaged, probably mice. I walked to see one bedroom and a kitchen/dining room and a tech lab. I looked around and Jordan scratched his head.
“This is the dump your parents were living in?” he asks.
“It wasn’t a dump 16 years ago, Jordan.” I replied. We looked around and I went inside of the tech lab. It was pretty small but much of their equipment was old and covered in webs. There was one sitting on the desk and it was an eye that was glowing bright green and had grey spiral patterns going through. It was in a glass box and I removed the glass box and webs and tried to put my hand on it and it passed through the eye. What?
“What is this?” I ask. Charlie and Jordan come over to the lab after examining the rest of the apartment.
“What?”
“This eye. My hand passes through it.” I said. Jordan put his hand through. He removed it. I took out my bag and scrunched through it to find the journal my parents left me. I scrolled through to try to find anything on this ghost eye. I found an area where they spoke of quantum physics and how to make particles “phase”. My father had written down tons of formulas with the tech that didn’t work as he had crossed them out. Jordan was confused looking at it.
“What does that mean?”
“They are tech formulas.” I said. “I am not gonna explain them because you are too stupid to understand. My father tried to make some cool eye tech and it failed.”
“Oh.” he says. I examined the eye and noticed some tools and code that was shown in a tablet which was off and could be turned on with a button. I went through it and took 30 minutes to figure out how to deactivate the phase effect caused by the eye. The eye was then touchable and then Jordan peaked from my back.
“I thought we came here to get information.” Jordan says. “Could you do this later?”
“Alright.” I said. I grabbed all of the tech for the eye and the eye itself as I was super curious with that eye. It looked really cool and I think I could solve the phasing tech issue that my father was unable to solve. I began to make formulas in my head to try to solve it. I packed my backpack with the phase eye stuff at the bottom, my hoodie on top and then my trenchcoat and journal on the top. We headed out of the apartment and headed back to the car. We were gonna head for Varnie Tech next, where hopefully we could find information about him and also my parents.
