The bright lights of the hospital room flooded my eyesight as I awoke inside of a hospital bed. The hospital room I was in was white and flooded with yellow lights. There was a night table next to my bed and two chairs by the bed. Leah sat down in one of the chairs and she looked nervous. I got up and she looked at me.
“Martin.” she said.
“Leah.” I said. “What happened?”
“You got knocked out.” says the doctor that walked inside. The doctor working there spoke English so that was good. He examines me and then turns to Leah.
“Martin is okay,” he said. “He can be discharged from the hospital.”
“Thank you so much sir.” says Leah. Leah helped me out of the bed as the two of us walked outside of the hospital and walked to the road to see a fancy car. This car was black in color and had DARS written in white on the sides of the vehicle. A slender and muscular man with a black suit and white shirt and black tie stepped out of the vehicle. I glared for a second.
“YOU!!!!”
“You?” asks Leah.
“He was the one who drove me to the DARS school from the airport.”
“Yeah.” says Leah. “His name is actually Charlie. He is the school driver.”
“I thought I had my own bodyguard…” I said moaning. Leah laughed for a bit and then we got inside of the car. Leah then turned to me. We were both in the backseat and Charlie sat in the front and got to the wheel.
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
“Martin.” she said as we were driving.
“Yeah?”
“That power you displayed.” says Leah. “You have light powers too?”
I then remembered what happened before I had been knocked out. Some gang wearing some slick cloaks tried to take Leah. I had manifested some light power and put the leader in his place, forcing him to retreat.
“No.” I said. “At least, I didn’t think so.”
“If you had light powers that means that we could be related.” says Leah.
“Related!?!?!?!” I yelled. I had cringed on that thought. Charlie was also startled by my yell.
“So you think we aren’t related?” says Leah.
“I hope not.”
“What do you mean by that, weirdo.” says Leah. “Try to recall the events before you used that power.”
I nod.
“That black haired guy kicked me into your TV. Then a jar that was there fell and it had glowing light stuff inside of it.” I said. “The jar shattered to pieces and then the light vanished.”
“You broke my jar!?!?” Leah asks.
“I didn’t break it.” I said. “He broke it.”
“My mother told me that it was a gift from my father right before he passed away.” says Leah. “And now it’s broken.”
“Then when you were in danger again, I rushed in with my power and markings began to appear on my left side that were on my skin and went through my eyes. I also had a golden eye, markings on my left arm and golden hair on my left side.” I said.
“Martin.” says Leah. “I think it was the jar.”
“You think?” I said.
She nods.
“Leah.” I said. “What if they try to go after you again?”
“You mean that gang?” asks Leah. I nod.
“Yeah.”
“Then I think we should call the cops and let them handle this.” says Leah.
“The cops?!??” I said. “Leah, did you see that black haired guy, he had darkness powers. Ain’t no way that the cops could do anything against him.”
“Yeah. But still…” says Leah. “You just randomly received powers and I have no combat experience. We will be screwed the next time they show up, Martin.”
“Then we will get you some combat experience.” I said.
