It had been a couple of days, in that time. I trained with Charlie, talked with my friends Jordan and Eric and also talked with Leah as well. It had been a couple of days and I began to pick up on the language. I was getting good at it. When it came to fighting Charlie, he always chuckled when he noticed how fast we improved in only a matter of a few days. I had little to no interactions with Nova as he sidelined, so I can receive some basic fighting training. I was training to become a… superhero. I was inside of my room when I awoke in the night. I looked to see Leah standing at my balcony.
“Hey Martin.”
“Leah.” I whispered. “What the heck are you doing here in the middle of the night?”
She sighed. “Get some proper clothes. We are going outside.”
“Where!” I whispered.
“Charlie is in on this. Don’t worry.” says Leah as she heads back to her room. I reluctantly got out of my cozy warm bed and put on some nice clothes such as a golden zipper hoodie, some nice black track pants and a white t-shirt. I put the hood over my head and sneaked out of the dorms. I went around and down the stairs. I turned to the road just outside of the dorm and saw Charlie’s fancy DARS car and Leah inside, she wore the same clothes I first saw her with. The beret and the yellow french skirt and white buttoned shirt. I got inside as the car took off to downtown Paris, which weirdly was full of people.
“Uhhhhhhhhh.” I said.
“What’s wrong?” asks Leah as she turns to me. I glanced out the window and noticed all of the lights and people.
“It’s the middle of the night!” I yelled. Leah and Charlie looked at me in shock.
“I mean,” I start. “Don’t they feel any kind of tiredness!??”
“Paris’ beauty can only be seen at night.” says Leah. “That’s why we are here at this time, and also because we….. have school tomorrow.”
Charlie drove to the Eiffel Tower and he parked the car on the side of the road. Leah, Charlie and I got out of the car and we looked around at the beautiful park that surrounded the Eiffel Tower. The grass was majestic green and the crickets added the sound that the park visualised. Charlie stood by the car and Leah grabbed my hand and dragged me to the Eiffel Tower where we walked to the bottom. She pranced across the path while we walked there. There was an elevator and she clicked the button. The elevator opened after some time and we walked inside of the rusted brown-grey elevator. We got to the top where we looked at the view over the city.

“Isn’t this cool Martin?” asks Leah.
“Yeah.” I replied. We glanced around the view and I looked at Leah. Okay, I haven’t said anything yet, but I had a crush on Leah from the beginning. It was when we first met. You could tell how awkward I was in the conversation, but now was the perfect time, it was February, we were at the top of the Eiffel Tower, the most romantic place on the entire planet.
“Leah.” I said.
“What’s wrong Martin?”
“I… like you.” I said.
She looked shocked and then smiled.
“Martin.” says Leah. “I like you too. It was from the first day we met and went to school. Your humour, mischievous personality and awkwardness are too attractive, Martin.”
I was shocked at the results and then she came to me and kissed me. I was shocked and then she went back to looking at the view. We just stood there looking for a few moments and then Leah decided she wanted to head back down. We started to head for the elevator and then suddenly a dark tentacle grabbed her by the waist and then pulled her up.
“MARTIN!!” she yelled. I ran and I tried to grab her and then I got shot by an energy blast of darkness in the face and I got propelled back as I collapsed into the floor of the Eiffel Tower. I looked up to see a helicopter and that black haired guy was inside of it. He was the one trying to take Leah again.
Charlie saw what was going on and he quickly left the car and ran up the stairs of the Eiffel Tower. I got up as some of the Phantom soldiers jumped down from the helicopter.
“Get out of my way.” I said. They started to come towards me and one threw a punch as I dodged it and kicked him in the legs, which caused him to fall to the ground. I started to fist fight with the men. Three Phantom soldiers stood at the other side of the view of the Eiffel Tower. Leah was being pulled up and I needed to do something fast.
“Nova.” I said.
Nova didn’t respond.
“NOVA!” I thought hard. Nova vanished, he was nowhere to be heard. Without Nova, I had no power, I was just your average Joe. Leah began to shoot light at Adrian as she was being pulled up. Adrian shot his darkness and at her light and it ruptured an explosion which sent the helicopter flying away from everything else. The helicopter pulled to the side and Adrian’s darkness tentacles then went into Leah’s ear. She suddenly stopped attacking and stood immobilised.
I stood by fighting the soldiers with my new techniques as I kicked the last one into some metal in the middle of the tower. I look to see the helicopter out of reach. Leah’s eyes were dark red and she hung there, not resisting. They pulled her into the helicopter and flew away. I tried to call on Nova’s power and he didn’t appear in my thoughts. Was he gone?
Charlie came up to see what had happened.
“What happened?” he asks.
“They took her!” I yelled. “They took her!”
I smashed the ground in frustration and Charlie saw the helicopter as it flew away.
“Why didn’t you use Nova’s power?”
“He didn’t respond to me.” I said. “He just blanked out. I was… on my own.”
“Martin,” says Charlie. “It’s okay. I figured this would happen. As my job as Leah’s associate and reference at AGENT, I put a tracking device on her. We will know exactly where she is, but Martin, we won’t be able to rescue her and stop Phantom unless you can get Nova in on this.”
I looked at him as I got up from my seat.
“Yeah.” I said. “You’re right.”
