The School: The Prank

I was back in school the next day and the school was the same as always. Eric and I walked to Ms. Stone’s class and as we were walking in the door frame. We were stopped by Martin McDonald.

“You again?” I ask.

“Do you remember yesterday?” he asks, blocking the door.

Right, I agreed to the stupid deal.

“Yeah I remember.” I said.

“Good.”

“Remember what?” asks Eric.

“He said that because we avoided the big fight at the party yesterday. He helped us and wants us to help him back?”

“By pranking the teacher.” says Martin. “Ms. Stone isn’t in the class yet. Jordan, I want you to freeze her chair into an ice block.”

“Hold on a minute. I have no idea how to use my powers, it just works sometimes and doesn’t-”

“Just try.” says Martin.

“You have 5.43 minutes.” says Eric. “It will take the teacher 43 seconds to get here and 5 minutes before class starts.”

“How do you know that?” asks Martin.

“He’s a genius.” I said. I walked inside of the classroom along with Martin and we headed for Ms. Stone’s wooden chair. It was empty and I put my hand on it and Martin was watching.

“Why isn’t it freezing?” asks Martin softly.

“I don’t know?” I ask. “I told you. It’s on and off.”

Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

Suddenly the chair starts to freeze. It happened when I had a thought of ice. The chair froze so much that it was practically an ice block.

“Martin.” I said. “I don’t know who would find this funny.”

“I will.” says Martin. “Everyone except you, cause you're a boomer.”

“Okay that was just uncalled for.” I said.

“Guys.” says Eric. “Get in your seats now!”

Eric, Martin and I rushed into our seats and we waited for Ms. Stone to arrive. She did literally 10 seconds after Eric’s warning. I guess he was pretty accurate. She arrived with this girl with dark skin and a red backward baseball cap on her head.

She looked to her chair and she screamed out loud. Martin and I started to laugh and we couldn’t hold out our laughter. We burst out laughing.

“DID YOU TWO DO THIS?!?” she asks. “How am I going to teach the class?”

The girl just looked pissed. She was staring at me.

“Let me help ma’am.” says the girl. She headed for the chair and she put her hand on my ice and it disappeared. It looked like he had melted.

“Thank you.” says Ms. Stone as she stopped her rage. “Class, this is Jessica Ramirez. She is a new student here.”

Jessica smiled at the class. Ms Stone looked at class and she was still angry at us.

“Cannot believe you two pulled a stunt like that.” says Ms. Stone. “Both of you, we are going to the office.”

Ms. Stone had forced us out of our seats. Martin and I got up from our seats and we followed her out of the class where everyone was making faces at us. We followed her to the office where we had to go talk to Principal Saunders there. The office was dark gray and had lots of brown desks and chairs. It even had a basket where you could take granola bars. Martin took one as we were walking.

“Those are for hungry kids, who don’t have breakfast.” I said. “You’re not supposed to take it.”

“So..” says Martin. “I’m hungry now.”

“Put that back.” says Ms. Stone.

“It’s FREE food. I am not gonna put it back.”

“If you don’t put it back, you will be in more trouble than you already are.” says Ms. Stone. Martin listened to her and put the granola bar back. I had wondered if pulling pranks with Martin was a good thing to do. The office smelled of old wood and we were brought into the principal's office. Saunders was angry. He was sitting at his large desk and we received two stinky old chairs to sit on. Ms. Stone headed back to our class to teach the rest of the students while we had been yelled at for 10 minutes by Saunders. Does Martin go through this all the time?
