At class, Jessica took the seat I left and sat down there, right next to there. Eric leaned over to her.
“How’d you do that?” asks Eric. He was suspicious.
“Do what?” asks Jessica.
“Melt that ice. That ice looked really thick.” says Eric.
“I don’t know. Body heat?”
“Body heat? The human body cannot produce enough body heat to melt that much ice instantly. You aren’t normal.” says Eric.
“Yeah.” Jessica growls. “You aren’t either.”
Jessica looks inside of Jordan’s desk for any clues. She starts to put her hands inside of
“Hey….” says Eric. “You’re not supposed to scavenge through other people's stuff. That’s an invasion of privacy.”
“Whose stuff is this?” asks Jessica. “This Glaciov’s?”
“Glaciov.” says Eric. “How do you know his last name?”
“I saw it in the office.” says Jessica. “Hey, you’re his friend right?”
“Yeah.” says Eric.
“How was he able to freeze that chair?” she asks.
“I guess I could tell you.” says Eric. “He discovered it not long ago, but he seems to be able to freeze anything he touches. Like a wizard.”
“A wizard’s not what I’d call it. Too cringy.” says Jessica. “How long will Glaciov-”
“His name is Jordan,” says Eric.
“How long will Jordan spend in the office for his terrible prank?” asks Jessica.

“Like 10 minutes or something. I don’t know, I’ve never been to the office.” says Eric. Ms. Stone walked in and sat down in her chair, which wasn’t frozen anymore. She began teaching Math and more complicated algebraic expressions. She took her whiteboard marker and started to write on the whiteboard. Jessica didn’t even have anything to write with.
“Hey.” says Eric.
“What now you twerp?” growls Jessica.
“You are supposed to write this down.”
“Why do you even need to write this down?” asks Jessica. “By talking to you for 5 minutes, I already know you are a walking computer.”
“Say that again.” says Eric.
“You’re a walking computer.”
“Thank you.” says Eric. Jessica was startled in confusion.
“I thought you were gonna get mad.” says Jessica. “How is that a compliment?”
“It just means that you are saying that I am comparable to a computer with smarts.” says Eric.
“You’re welcome I guess.” says Jessica shrugging.
“Move.”
Jessica looked up and saw Martin and I staring over at her.
“The trouble makers have finally arrived.” says Jessica. She gets up from her chair and faces me directly where I notice her bright red eyes. I look straight into them.
“This is my seat Jessica,” says Jordan. “Go find another seat.”
“Fine.” she says. She looks to a seat directly in front of Jordan’s and sits in that one. Jordan put his hand on his seat and startled.
“Why is it so hot?” he asks. Martin just starts giggling.
“What’s so funny about that?” asks Jordan. Eric was lost in his thoughts.
That’s unnatural. He thought. The human body cannot produce that much body heat. Does her body have some superpower that allows her to produce more body heat? That’s probably how she melted the ice.
“You thinkin about somethin bud?” Jordan asks.
Eric nods. He comes closer to Jordan. Martin sits down in his regular seat.
“She doesn’t have natural body heat.” he whispers in Jordan’s ear. “That’s why your chair feels like a sauna and how she melted the ice.”
“So you’re saying she’s like.. Me?” Jordan asks.
Eric nods.
“Invite her to sit with us for lunch and then we can ask her more.” asks Eric.
“All right?”
