My name is Jordan Glaciov. This is my story. My mom is Russian and my father originated from here in Canada. I live in Onoda, located on the coast of Ontario, right by the beautiful Lake Ontario. The water is nice and blue and the city of Onoda is huge. Onoda is located next to Toronto and Ottawa and has 3 million people living inside of it. I live in a nice small bungalow just outside of the city and it has nice white wood planks and a dark brown roof.
I lived a particularly normal life, but as a kid, I would always be bullied for my white hair as a toddler. I knew Mom has it as well and I wondered how someone as young as me could even develop it. I remembered asking Eric Yun, my best friend growing up who moved here from South Korea when he was a kid, why I had white hair. I had done research on my own and I had come up with this albino mutation. Eric then debunked me. He had told me that albino’s have red eyes, when I had a bright blue.
I had packed my bag for school and put on some clothes. A white hoodie and a blue t-shirt with a white snowflake on it. My mom purchased this for me. I also had white sweatpants. As I was about to leave my mom waved to me.
“Пока, Jordan.” she said to me.
“Пока.” I replied back. If you don’t know, Пока means bye. I headed for school and I walked through the streets that were covered with snow and ice and arrived at the bus stop that had other teens there. The red and blue city bus arrived and we got on and it took us to the city where the school I attended was. The city was covered in snow and when we had arrived, I had gotten off right in front of the school. I saw Eric at the front and he waved to me and came over to me.
“Hey Jordan,” he says.
“Hey. What’s up man.” I said as we fistbumped. Eric wore an orange sweater with some beige khakis and had straight black hair and eyes. He was also carrying his books in hand.
“Let’s head to class.” I said.
“Yeah,” he says. We walked up the beige brick stairs and inside of the large school, where we had math first period with Ms. Stone. We walked through the blue and white hallways of Onoda High, our school. We went up the elevator and to the third floor to our class. Ms. Stone’s class has the same colors as the other classes, a brown desk, white chairs and desks for all students. It was mostly filled with students. Ms Stone had her gray hair wrapped in a bun and had glasses and wore a black shirt and a red skirt. I had sat down next to Eric, right in the middle of the class’ desk and chair. Eric turned to me and started to talk.
“Hey Jordan.” he asks.
“Yeah.” I ask.
“Did you know that it’s possible that humans can have superpowers.” he said.
“No. Superpowers are purely science fiction dude.” I said.
“This one guy had fire immunity. Another guy had an ice immunity, he swam through water that would normally cause hypothermia for a regular human.”
“Hey.” I said. “I know what power you have?”
“What?” he asks.
“Super smartness.” I said. “The power to give me useless facts.”
Ms. Stone sat down in her chair and her bottom got stuck to the chair.
“What?” she asks angrily. This one guy sitting next to me that had brown hair and brown eyes started laughing. I knew him. His name was Martin. He was this stupid kid who always would pull pranks like putting a booger on my locker as an example. Her eyes darted around to Martin who was laughing.
“Martin McDonald.” she yelled. “Who did this!?!?”
“It was Jordan,” says Martin, smirking at me. I almost jumped out of my chair.
Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on Royal Road.
“It was him.” I yelled. “He is literally laughing.”
“Jordan,” says Ms. Stone. “Principal's office.”
I got up from my chair and went into Martin’s desk and found a glue bottle.
“See, he did it!” I said.
“Dude,” says Martin. Ms. Stone detached herself from the sticky chair and walked towards us where she took the glue bottle from my hand and tossed it in the trash. She grabbed Martin’s arm and dragged him to the school’s office.
“NO!” yells Martin as he is being dragged. I smiled and realized my hand was still touching the desk. The desk had frozen. It was completely ice.
“Jordan,” says Eric. “Why is Martin’s desk frozen?”
“Why is it frozen?” I ask. I quickly removed my hand from the desk. The desk was a mess and had a gingerbread cookie inside of it. Everyone in the class was so confused.
“Did I do that?” I ask, looking at my hands.
“Maybe the heater of the school shut down for a second and that led the desk to freeze?” asks Eric. “No. No. Jordan, you had to have done something.”
Ms. Stone came inside of the class and noticed that the desk was frozen.
“What now?” she asks. “WHO FROZE HIS DESK!?!?”
“It was Jordan.” says someone at the back. Ms. Stone had given me a death glare.
“I swear I don’t know who did that.”
Ms. Stone sighed.
“I don’t want to have to send two students to the office. I will let you stay.” she says.
“Thanks.” I said. That class finished and then the next class, then lunch. Throughout the two periods, small things that I had touched had been frozen. It had to be something to do with me. Argh!
Eric and I walked through the blue and white halls to our lockers and I went to undo the lock. I open mine to grab my lunch. Eric does the same. The lockers are blue, old and greasy. I close the door and a big buff guy with the same facial structure as Martin is there. He is leaning on the locker with his big muscles and abs. He wore a tank top and shorts. He had the same brown hair and eyes like Martin.
“Are you Jordan Glaciov.'' asks the guy.
“Who the heck are you?” I ask, looking at him.
“I’m Billy McDonald.” he says. “Martin’s older brother. You got my brother in trouble and now you gotta pay the price!”
He grabs my throat with his left arm , holds me up and pushes me into the lockers and Eric is scared.
“Let him go!”
“Run off nerd.” yells Billy. “This isn’t any of your business.”
“It is my business.” says Eric. “You are hurting my friend!”
Eric tries to punch him and he punches him away with his right arm that he had opened and Eric crashes into a locker on the other side of the hall. I put my hands on his left arm. It started to freeze and he couldn’t feel his arm.
“Why can’t I feel my arm!” he yelled. “What did you do, you little twerp!?”
I raised my arms in the air and smashed it on his frozen arm. This lets me get free of him as he cries out in pain from his left arm. I attempt to punch him and the ice still lingers off my arm as it has white aura composed of ice and snowflakes coming off of it as I punch him right onto the ground. Billy collapses on the ground and the ground around me starts to freeze up.
“I’m sorry!” says Billy. “You’re actually pretty strong, man.”
Billy runs off like a stupid coward and Martin was watching and he facepalmed from the corner of the hallway as we both gave each other death glares. He mouthed something and I recognized it as ”What are you?”
Some girls were also watching it and I helped Eric out of the smashed locker and we walked to the cafeteria where everyone had already been eating. We looked around for an empty spot and found one right in the middle of the cafeteria. The cafeteria consisted of 24 tables and everything in it was white with blue as a contrasting color in the design. We sat down and began eating and then I heard a girly voice.
“Hey?” asks a girl. I looked up to see a girl with long blond hair, brown eyes and white skin. She was on her knees on the seat of the cafeteria, just across from Eric and I who had been sitting. She was with four other girls, who I had assumed were her friends.
“Hello.” I said. “How can I help you?”
“I’ve never seen you here before.” she says. “I’m Avery Summers.”
“Jordan Glaciov.”
“The way that you beat Billy was so impressive.” she says. “I want to invite you to my party tonight.”
At first, I didn’t know who she was. When she told me her name, I remembered that Avery Summers was the most popular girl at this school. Her parents have a crap ton of money, where she can have parties weekly. I also knew her because Eric had a massive crush on her and when we had become friends, he wouldn’t stop talking to me about her. Avery wore a white blouse and a pink skirt.
“Can you come to my party?” she asks.
“I can…” I said as I saw Eric’s depressed face. I hugged him by the shoulder and began to speak again.
“If he comes with me.”
“Fine,” says Avery. “You can bring your nerdy friend. 7 PM to 9 Pm, 731 Mentos Way, Okay?”
“Yeah.” I said.
“Thanks.” she says. She and her friends walk away and Eric begins to act like Mentos that had fallen inside of some cola.
“It was AVERY!” says Eric.
“Remember when you asked me for tips on picking up girls?” I ask.
“Yeah.” asks Eric.
“Well, you just learned one.” I said. “Beat bullies.”
“No.” says Eric. “You have some power.”
I had remembered how I had beaten Billy and frozen the desk and other things.
“I can freeze things.” I said. “With my bare hands.”
“I can’t believe it.” says Eric. “This is the best day ever. Billy gets beat. Avery invites us for a party and my best friend gets super powers.”
“Shut up.” I said. “Don’t want anyone else knowing about my “curse”.”
“Don’t call it a curse. Call it something you can be proud of.” says Eric. “Say, maybe your white hair has something to do with your powers.”
“Yeah.” I said. “Maybe it does?”
