Side Chapter 002: Noel

All it took was a single day to become a member of the Seer force. That was really all it took. It seemed so simple but also frustrating that he was literally carried by the man known as Yadon. The behemoth could sense his fear and just led him to an easy victory.

As he should. After all, Noel was basically royalty. His family was it, promoting the best that Terra had to offer and advancing this city into the Region of tomorrow. It would be just a matter of time before they gobbled up the number one Region in the world.

Of course, he didn’t even need to become a Seer since protecting the people wasn’t a concern for him. It was more suited to commoners who couldn’t really do much with their lives. But that never would pertain to him.

He didn’t know how the others would be celebrating if they even made it out alive, but he was having a five-star meal all to himself. Prepared exclusively by his personal chef.

His golden plate sat firmly in place on a fine wooden table which was surrounded by his numerous maids and butlers. The chef had made him a finely cooked steak glazed with honey and bell peppers.

His personal butler was busy at work cutting his meat for him before blowing on it delicately and then stuffing it into his mouth before assisting him with chewing by holding onto his facial muscles and guiding him through the process.

“Steady and firm bites, master Noel.”

“Mmmm.”

To believe I’d make it this far. I mean of course I would, it’s just I never thought I’d actually have to compete in the test. Perhaps I should have a talk with the captains.

Another butler promptly wiped the boy’s mouth with a red handkerchief. “There you go master, I know how much you like to keep a clean face.”

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

“Indeed I do. Good work. Alright, I’m ready for my next bite.” Noel demanded, well most of the words that came out of the male’s mouth were demands. He was very used to getting his way.

“Yes, master.” As instructed, he cut another fine piece of meat before guiding it to the boy’s mouth while the other butler helped him chew it very carefully, but soon he started to cough.

Everyone gasped after hearing this and one of the maids intervene, grabbing ahold of the boy to pull him back so she could pat his back. The added force caused him to cough louder until he was offered a glass of water.

“...”

“I’m sorry master… that was my mistake…” The butler started to sweat.

“You’re fired you waste of space. Collect your final paycheck and then leave and never show your face here again or by god you’ll never work a day in your life!”

The butler nodded before walking off a few tears sliding down his face.

If there’s one thing I hate most it’s incompetent people. Even with such a large sum of money being delivered into his account he still can’t do a simple job? Useless!

“I’ve lost my appetite.”

“What should we do with the steak master?”

“Throw in the trash. If it isn’t fresh off the stove there’s no point in consuming food.”

“Understood.” The maid went to grab the plate, walking down the hall and back into the kitchen.

“Mother and father couldn’t make it, huh?”

“Unfortunately not… your mother is working with Dimitri today on some new designs for the magic guns. Your father is-”

“Busy as always… well, it’s to be expected from such brilliant people. Making this world a better place to live takes effort. They’re the true heroes of this world and in time I hope the world will truly understand it.”

“Certainly.”

It’s always like this. I can always count on one hand how often my parents are home and around. They’re gone for most of the day and they only come home to rest their batteries. They’re like robots it’s unreal. I know they’re trying hard to fix this broken world, but still… I’m so bored. I always have to entertain myself with these morons. I can’t even remember their names… it doesn’t matter anyway… they’re not real people they’re just slaves to the money.

Noel releases a deep sigh as he takes a stand from the table and walks over into the large area which was his living room. He sat down on the red velvet couch, resting his head back on the cushioning.

His living room was spacious with a 60-inch flat screen TV mounted on the wall which was directly above a nice cozy fireplace. He soon put his feet up on the oak colored coffee table. Stressful days would be ahead of him, but there’s nothing money couldn’t do.

I’m going to show the world just how powerful money is. Everyone has a price that they can be bought with… everyone.
