Zain had revealed to the group that he was the traitor amongst them who had set up an insidious plan to not only become king but to handle any threats that could come from his family. Right now only one person stood in his way and that was Yadon. The others were still fighting and that gave him enough time to pass this human.
“Out of my way, Yadon. You can’t stop what’s happening.” He instructed while pointing his spear at him.
“Then you must not know me. The name’s Yadon and I’m going to kick your ass!”
“How cute. You think you can win. Fine, I’ll humor you.”
Zain stared at his opponent, clenching his spear before stabbing it into the ground… Yadon was confused by this gesture, but felt some form of Mana brewing and decided to look down. It was a good thing he did or else he would have been skewered to death. Seeing the magic circle he leaped forward.
Numerous green spears rose from that magic circle before fading into nothing. Thankfully he was quick enough to dodge it, but he couldn’t dodge the swing that was coming from the prince. He used his left arm to guard against it, before delivering a punch towards his foe.
“Take this! Yadon punch!” He placed a lot of power and momentum into this attack, but Zain was nimble. He ducked the straightforward before delivering one of his own, connecting in the same area that he was struck last time, forcing the behemoth to fall on his knees.
“You’re wounded prey right about now, Yadon. You have no chance in hell of beating me.” To add further insult to injury, Zain slapped him with the blunt end of his spear across the face to send him falling onto the ground.
Yadon’s teeth clenched from the pain and anger he was feeling. He tried to get up, but he was met with a spear towards his throat and the insidious Zain staring down at him with a haughty smirk.
“Stay down and I’ll let you live. If not then your journey ends here, human.”

“I won’t stay down. That’s not the kind of guy I am! I got people counting on me back home and here. I won’t lose to you!”
Zain cackled at this before bringing his spear down. A loud CLANK sound was heard as his weapon was deflected. Yadon had channeled more of that protective Mana of his to guard against the attack before standing and grabbing ahold of Zain’s wrists. Holding them tightly he cocked his head back and delivered a mighty headbutt towards the Basilisk’s skull!
It was hard enough to rattle his nogging and confuse the both of them… both of their skulls were rattling right about now.
“Gaaaah! That hurt more than I expected…!” Yadon admitted.
“Such a ruthless attack from common trash!” Zain staggered back, placing a hand on his head as he stared at the fool across from him. He was done with the games.
“Not yet… I can’t let up yet!” Yadon regained his sense as he once again charged towards Zain, clenching his fist as he had hoped for one last hit… however, he soon found himself unable to move as his body was now being turned into stone…?
Zain’s eyes were emitting a faint yellow glow as the human was soon rendered immobile as a statue of stone. Once it was finished he closed his eyes and sighed. “To think I would have to resort to that technique. How ugly.”
This was the end of Yadon… there was no sign of life coming from him as he was stuck in such a position. Zain glanced back at everyone and soon he started to depart.
“Wait! Zain!” Isaac called out while avoiding a strike from one the Basilisk he was fighting.
“Focus on saving yourself before you save anyone else, heroes,” Zain said before he departed the cave.
He hated to admit it, but Zain was right. In order to save those back at the castle, he had to defeat the enemy in front of him. But, Yadon… was he going to be alright?
“I’m going to take my time with you… nice and slow. I’ll only inject you with a light dose of venom. That way you’ll feel everything.”
“No thank you… I wouldn’t like that in the slightest!” Isaac announced.
It looks like he had no choice. As much as he disliked killing there was no other way out of this. To save the most amount of time Isaac was going to have to claim his first life. He didn’t know how he’d handle that, but he knew he couldn’t handle his loved ones dying.
“Right!” Isaac summoned a deck of cards in his right hand and threw them into the air randomly. Some of the cards landed on the ground while others appeared to float in the air beside him. The Basilisk took note of this, but still charged in rather quickly.
“Foolish kid! Card tricks won’t save you!”
Two cards flew directly at the Basilisk, however, he was able to avoid them and close the distance between Isaac and himself. He lunged in, going to take a bite at the boy’s neck, but before he could, he felt something warm seeping from his neck…
He was mere inches away from ripping the boy’s flesh apart, but as quick as the wind Isaac managed to cut into his neck with a single card between his fingers. Blood rushed out from the wound and started to stain the ground and soon the creature fell.
Isaac remained silent but offered the creature one last gaze before running off towards Yadon. He cried out for the man’s name, but he didn’t respond. “Yadon! Please be ok!” He touched the stone and felt that it was still warm, but there was no sign that Yadon was alive…
“How could he do something like this…? He has to be stopped… Zain!”
