Chapter 32.1: ~Coalescence~ The Three Servants Who Served Different Masters. . . .

>> At that same day, Kroni and Eisheth decided to follow Justine’s location. Since this time, Countess Lilith, a primordial Demon and powerful one who can tame mortals with just her glance, might cause havoc to the future King.

“We can’t just entrust this easily.” Kroni utters. Eisheth sighs, glaring at Kroni. “You’re worrywart much, Kroni. Have a little faith in our Master, won’t you?

“Yeah, I know...” Kroni grunts. “But now we’re both have our loyalty to him; this matter isn’t just something we can leave idle.”

Both their hands appear the crests of loyalty as a servant. Both they know swearing loyalty to a mortal isn’t something to be taken lightly.

A story goes that a Demon can be a servant for a mortal, in exchange of giving a massive amount of power. Something like a contract, but in exchange is that the mortal will never be living as the way he used to be.

Yet, that’s just a fabricated tale.

As the two proceeds to where Justine is, a young woman, preferably in her 15 years old, stands at the entrance. Wearing a black pinafore dress length down to her feet, her eyes fixated forward.

Her crimson eyes directly gazed, her hand holds a pocket watch and looked at the time.

Kroni and Eisheth stopped as they see the woman. “It’s been a while, you two.”

“Hecate.” Kroni mumbled. “Indeed, I am.” The woman named Hecate replied. “What business you have here? I believe the Queen, Her Highness only asked one servant to look after the King.”

“We’re here to meddle on him. We are his servants, after all.” Kroni replied.

“Hmmm... so you’re saying that Lady Lilith isn’t someone you can trust?”

Kroni growls inwardly after hearing Hecate’s hasty reply. “Worry not, you two. Since you know that I have my capabilities to do what you two can do.”

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

“As a fellow Shadow Maiden ordered by the clan, you should understand us.” Eisheth interjects.

“I understand your point, but here on out... if you want your King to be at the throne, you should just trust him, right?”

Kroni gritted her teeth. “You should know that. Our oath is to be with our master’s order, and our mission is to protect them.”

Hecate’s eyes smolder while gazing at the two. “And never forget, you two disobeyed a mission to kill Mephistopheles. Instead, you chose to serve him.”

“Choosing who we will serve or not is ours to take.” Eisheth chides, narrowing her eyes towards Hecate. “Same goes with you, no?”

“...Once we have left the clan to do our duties as Shadow Maidens, our code must ought to break, I suppose?”

“We’re not obligated to follow the code. We are here to find the Master we will serve and protect.”

“And that mortal you two chose to follow?” Hecate’s eyes smolder even more.

The code emphasize: “To die with honor is to serve and prove loyalty to your master.” The clan they came from, Shadow Maidens, is a secret underground assassin group made for nobles.

The organization takes in orphans victimized with the war. They raised to be heartless and ruthless assassins, creating the best of the bests.

With this, Kroni and Eisheth, being one of those children worked under that clan.

“Silver-haired demon and crimson eyes... your names.” Hecate utters.

“Iron claw.” Kroni replied.

“I have no beef for you two, since master adores you more than anyone. You two finished the missions impeccably, leaving no any trace.”

Hecate sighs, averting her eyes from the two. “... But right now, this is something I can’t just slip off. Lady Lilith suffered enough for losing His Excellency Mephistopheles. Knowing that mortal resembles him, this should be good enough to lift her spirit.”

Her voice remained calm and collected, though, Kroni and Eisheth feels the uprearing tension, should they make a move.

“Crimson eyes, I can sense you’re eager to pass through me. But I won’t let you no matter what. Same with you, Silver-hair... I, Iron claw, will do my best not to interrupt Lady Lilith with your selfishness.”

Kroni gritted her teeth even more, scowling in frustration. “Back off, Kroni...”

Out of a sudden, Eisheth raise her left arm sideward. “Eisheth—”

“This will be futile. Iron Claw is dead serious in killing us, should we push this further.”

Kroni clicks her tongue in resignation and let out an exasperated sigh. “Damn it. This should be the time we should prove ourselves for him as his servant. And here I’ve been worked up to beat that bitch.”

Hecate didn’t respond to her words. Still holding the pocket watch, she took a glance at it. “I’m done talking to the two of you. The time surpassed a little than I expected; you two are too vehement for him.”

“He isn’t just a Master we’re serving. He is the King of this Kingdom. Of course, we’re his servants and it’s our duty to serve him.”

Eisheth glares straight to Hecate, as gentle wind caress her hair. “We will back off for now, if that’s what you want.”

Hecate sighs, but she suddenly felt a chilly feeling as her eyes meets Eisheth. Right that moment, her knees tremble out as those silver eyes glimmer.

“...But that doesn’t mean we’re running away. Keep that words of yours for should we learn you’re scheming something with your master... we won’t be holding back.”

Turning her back, Eisheth beckons Kroni to leave the place.

Hecate felt her heart thumps faster. A sudden feeling of massive fear envelops her body. She trembles out, but her lips form a sinister grin.

“Haha... hahahaha!”

A frenzy cackle let out from her lips. “Such powerful demonic thought, silver hair. You really are the true prodigy of the clan.”

Despite of her trembling feeling, Hecate laughs softly whilst still standing on the same place where her master resides in.
