Chapter 67 -

"Ma'am, please calm down. Let's find a place to talk this through..." The hotel staff desperately tried to restrain Ruth when the door in front of them suddenly opened.

Noelle was indeed inside. Her hair was slightly disheveled, and her cheeks were unnaturally flushed, yet her was icy.

"Well, well! So you are here! Where's your lover? Is Maxwel hiding inside? Let me..."

Noelle ignored Ruth entirely and strode over to Sandra in just a quick few steps.

Her movement was so swift that Sandra barely had the time to react before Noelle snatched the phone from her hand.

"Noelle..."

Sandra was about to say something when Noelle deleted the video she had recorded and smashed the phone without hesitation.

"What are you doing?" Ruth had intended to barge in to find Maxwell before she was startled by the commotion. She immediately rushed forward to protect Sandra.

However, Noelle didn't give them a chance to recover. She raised her hand and delivered a crisp slap

"Sandy!" Ruth immediately shouted. "Noelle, you wretched lunatic! How dare you hit her? You're the

"Are you an idiot?" Noelle turned to look at Ruth and said coldly, "Are you completely unaware that you're being used as a pawn?"

"What are you talking about?" Ruth froze in place as she was unable to comprehend what she had just heard.

However, Noelle didn't spare her another glance. She turned around and walked away.

"Stop right there! Noelle, I demand you get this straight!" Ruth tried to chase after her before someone behind her blocked her path. "Ma'am, please stay calm...."

Noelle had no intention of engaging with her further. Her mind was already slipping into a haze. She wouldn't have had the strength to confront Sandra and Ruth if she hadn't steeled herself and made a deep cut on her forearm earlier.

However, the clarity brought by the pain was fleeting.

Her body was burning with heat, as if something was gnawing at her bones. Her legs started to tremble, forcing her to clench her fists tightly as her body slowly bent under the strain.

"Ma'am, do you need help?" Someone in the lobby approached her with concern.

Noelle didn't respond. She gritted her teeth and forced herself to take each step forward.

She didn't hesitate to rush over when she spotted a familiar car parked at the entrance. She charged

toward it like a drowning person grasping for a life raft.

She grabbed the man's hand without hesitation when the car window was rolled down. "Hendrix, help

me."

Levi quickly opened the car door.

Noelle kept her grip on Hendrix even after getting into the car.

Her logic told her that she should let go. However, her body betrayed her. She even found herself leaning closer to him apart from gripping him tightly.

Hendrix caught her wrist and held it firmly the next moment.

The wound on her hand was exposed as he lifted it.

Only then did Noelle slightly regain her senses. She shook her head forcefully and tried to free her hand before Hendrix's grip tightened as he glanced at her.

The car was shrouded in dim light, while the outside world glittered with decadence and revelry.

Noelle was suddenly reminded of the past two years when his gaze landed on her-those tangled and hazy nights they had shared.

Then, Noelle seemed to hear a sharp echo in her mind.

It was the sound of her last shred of reason shattering.
